I think it's instinctual. Webbed feet = Water Dog. Even a mutt with webbed feet will take to water without giving it a second thought. If they don't have webbed feet then some like it, some don't. People who own swimming pools and don't want a dog that is always going in the pool (i.e., stinky wet dog) stay away from dogs with webbed feet.

Very true words. I've always taken my dogs swimming no matter the breed. Right now we have a Yellow Lab and she loves to stand out in a downpour trying to catch rain drops in her mouth.... it cracks me up watching her. It's not so funny when all 80 pounds of her wants to come back in though....

In my time owning/using a kayfun (10 months now) I have seen every imaginable build using every imaginable wicking material. They all come and they all go and when the dust settles, what is left is a standard microcoil with cotton ball. :)

Am I getting old and cranky because I don't feel the need for anything besides that combo in the kayfun or is it just common sense telling me don't fix what ain't broke . :)

Ditto. Slept late and still managed to snag a few while having a vape and first cup of coffee @ https://www.intaste.de/

Take that snobby "im only open a few hrs a week" Cv9! I stick my tongue out at you!

Noticed your avatar thought I was the only deadhead on here. I guess its proof that there are enough breain cells left for a deadhead build a KLF :) I have all their releases so if you need something just pm me.

I just can't get it. New failure mode. I stripped the rayon and put in cotton. The first thing you notice is the thickness of a roll of cotton isn't consistant. Anyway I loaded it up got some flavor but no and I mean no vapor on the exhale, is this flooding?

Honestly on most forums I'm one of the first guys to figure something out but these KLF's are busting my balls.

    What happened to that pictorial?

People like to fiddle and building is a hobby. Most of us have been struck by the hobby aspect of it (I have). I never underestimate that. But at some point we all have our limits and just want to vape. The standard microcoil using cotton or silica seems to take the vape experience 90% of the way if not 100%. All the other build setups and fancy wicking material is more for the hobby than the practicality (notwithstanding if someone prefers to subohm or megawatt)...IMO and I know there will be those who adamantly disagree. And that's OK. :)

regal, if you have another device to use, send me the problem child. for like 5 bucks you can send it off and I will take a look. I will check it out and if its not the device, I will get a good build in there. also I will make a few more coils for you pre-wicked so when the first one gets gunked, just snap in a new one. the main thing is once I see what you have in there(if you send me a complete build that's not working) I can see why its not working and inform you on the issue. I will then ship it back to you.

that's very cool of you man.

honestly, i hate to see people having issues with these kayfuns, and being that i really enjoy building them, why not. like i said, if its not the device, i know i can make a great build in it. actually even if it is the device, i could mod it so it would work. i have only had one guy take me up on this offer through the months, it was bustabo, he was having issues with his aqua tank. being that i have a couple of them, and have made hundreds of perfect set ups, i knew i could help. once he sent it to me, he also sent me some of his juice. his juice was a Net juice and i never knew anything much about them, and thought no big deal, it cant really matter what juice it is. when i received this juice, it was like honey! seriously way thicker then anything i had ever vaped. i said to myself, maybe i bit off more then i can chew on this one? also being bustabo lived up north, and it was winter, i said to myself, no wonder he is having issues. anyways i built a few coils and what worked the best was a twisted 30g or 32g build that had a smaller profile(shorter coil length) then what he was doing, this increased the shoulders of the wick before they went down into the channels. i think this helped to store more juice above the vertical profile of the wick. see with a much longer coil, the tails almost had to go straight down to the channels, so there wasn't any shoulders away from the coil. i don't know, maybe that's all B/S and just something that i think made it work, regardless, it did work and he was very thankful. good night guys

I subohm on the mechs and play with twisted wire builds in the RDA's , but the kayfuns are for vaping , I like the fact that they simply , consistently work .

Would it be beneficial to switch from 28 gauge wire to something lower like 26? I currently wrap my coils with 28 gauge (the lowest that I have) and get roughly around 1.3-1.5 depending on how many wraps. I like how it hits but I want to see how it hits with less wraps and thicker wire. I haven't really tried anything lower than 1 ohm at this point.

It'll be two. if I can't figure it out by next week. I just found the pictorial gram: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/heathers-heavenly-vapes/576755-microcoil-pictorial-simple.html

This is better than any youtube video so I have high hopes., weird cause I'm always the first guy to build something in electronic forum, just have a mental block on this one. Do you send it back with coil and wick installed for examination?

I was thinking of sending it back ready to vape but I also could just wick and coil it with no juice so you could see it. I figured between me seeing your non working build and telling you what I think, and also wicking a few, ready to go coils, that should be enough.

Tbh, a 26g build at sub ohm is not that much of a difference imo. I mean there are slight differences but nothing like a sub ohm drip per compared to a 1.5 ohm dripper. Now I do have 2 kayfuns for sub ohm, and one is usually dual coiled, sometimes they are set up with 26g, sometimes they are twisted wire builds, but none are 28g. Also in these 2 devices, I have opened up the airflow and also widened the juice channels. All the modifications along with a thicker gauge wire at lower resistances has increased the flavor for sure. As for vapor production, just slightly because I still don't think airflow is open enough. Also throat hit and overall heat seems about the same imo. The main reason I sub ohm the kayfuns is just to achieve my desired wattages with a mech mod. let's say I only had vv devices that all were between 15 to 20 watts, if so I doubt I would sub ohm a kayfun. But hell, try it out. The wire is cheap and if you have a mech, experiment. Everyone is different and feel thinks differently. It like rayon, alot say it's so much better then cotton that it's not even close, while some see hardly no differences. I will have to say my favorite kayfun set up is a dual coil at 20 watts. This is with twisted gauge wire at .9 ohms

Are Rots swimmers like Labs? Do they have webbed feet?

A few years ago we ran into a Rot up in Traverse City that was the swimmingist dog I've ever seen. She brought back sticks the kids threw for about an hour straight. Great dogs IMHO :)

If I were to get a dog, I would consider a Rot. I really like Labs but a Rot would be second on my list (no little yappy dogs). Beautiful doggies and wonderful pets! Not to mention I could probably relegate my .357 magnum to back up status. :)

Give it a try and let me know. How long have you had the device? And which one is it? Sometimes it just the smallest things that makes a big difference and it just may take a few more builds to find it. If there is one thing that I wish I could change in the kayfun, it would be a design that would allow you to make a build without having to take out the juice. This would allow for a much shorter learning curve for most. that's why I love working on my aqua tanks, you can turn upside down and unscrew base while keeping the juice in the upper part. The chimney stays attached to top cap and tank section. when re wicked, or re coiled, you can just thread base back into juiced tank section. So all the kayfun needs to achieve this is for the chimney and chimney top to be one piece, and to make it possible to stay attached to the top cap. Maybe some threads inside the little chimney top hole. If this had some threads, then maybe there could be a drip tip that threaded down into it, this would make the chimney stay. If this could be done, all you need to do is to flip over device and unscrew bottom deck and keep everything else intact, including the juice. In theory it should work but who knows? Maybe one day I will modify one to see.

Bronze.... you would not regret getting a Rotty. I've had the honor of >10 in my life and every one was the aces. Give you a little example.... I once had a brace with the male "security" trained. They were both off leash trained to boot. There was a young girl in my neighborhood who used to come over and watch me train them. Then she would then go with me to the park and I'd let her put the dogs through their paces and play with them. They came to love her and watched over her. At the park one day two jerks approached her began to hassle her. All I saw when I realized what was happening was two black flashes and then she had two large snarling dogs between her and the jerks. Needless to say the jerks left quickly and the Rottys went back to their "stations" to continue to monitor things. I swear that is what it's like with them. They are always watching and ready to react but on the other hand they are gentle giants ready to be "pillows" for the kids watching TV. If my health was better I'd have them again, but they need to much attention and training for me now and it really upsets me.
Get one and don't look back.... you will never regret the decision. Just make sure you watch the genetics... they are very over bred.

Apologies if I got carried away....
