Its cheaper to buy a new one that to to ship this back and forth, if the new one dacts up I will do just that. It takes a long time for meto get to the PO.
About $6.70 round trip with tracking, no insurance, regular first class, using your recycled padded little bag that something else came in and 6 business days plus 10 minutes on the bench (10 min ?)

You can still buy a new one but for less then 5 bucks you most likely will have a good backup and a good visual on a good build also I can make a short video clip of the exact method, this way you can duplicate it in the future. Honestly I love doing this and hate to see you struggle with it. Even worse case scenario, that it is the device, I will send you back a boat load of coils for your new kayfun and a video clip of step by step visuals of a build that will be as good as it gets.

Regal..

I forget, which KFL+ do you have? My EHPro is nice and tight on the seals (almost too tight) and seems to never leak. I do keep the airflow screw in it though. Even with the bottom (I like tighter draws) and little piece of clear tape over it to keep it from backing out. If you are flooding/leaking, you could have a slight leak at on of the seals. Must likely the chimney to top cap o-ring.

My wicks I make sure just cover the channels without being in them. Just lightly sitting on top. 2mm dia. open spaced coil, 1.2ohm with 28ga. I dont do the 'cut even with the chimney' method anymore as I seem to burn the wick easier that way. I angle my coil and lay the tails on the deck against the walls, screw on the bottom chimney, then adjust the tails to lightly cover the channels..

You've seen these pic before.

changed the old avatar, now I don't feel like im talking to the wife. my tail configuration is very close with the only difference is my cotton fibers are positioned slightly downwards. im sure it doesn't matter much because cotton wicks so well but I feel it even wicks better when the ends of the fibers are positioned downwards. since this photo I actually cut more of an angle on the bottom wick so more wick is touching the ledge but I always position the fibers downwards so they wick straight upwards instead of from the side of the wick. like I said it probably doesn't make any difference whether the wick absorbs from the side of it or straight up the fibers. I also think a slightly shorter tail absorbs a little faster.

All night it poorformed well with ECC Blends Dragon's Blood. About halfway thru the night I started tasting cotton. As long as it toook me to get the cotton to lay down right I dread changing it out.
Hard to say exactly but that's usually a sign that not enough cotton was used in the coil. Although i can get it right 95 percent of the time, sometimes I don't add enough wick inside the coil and initially it can hold on but after a short time the heat gets to it and it degrades. Do you ever listen carefully to the sounds the kayfun makes? As you vape it, there is a slight sizzle sound, this slight sizzle continues for maybe 1 second after you vape and the fire button is released. Now if one doesn't have enough wick, this sizzle is slightly louder and lasts a few seconds after you release the fire button. So for me anyways, I can listen to this afterburn to determine if I have enough in the coil.

Haha, that is good info!! I just rebuilt one of my kayfuns and noticed something was not quite right especially with the extra sound and sizzle. Glad to know its because of too little wick. One bad wicking kayfun after several rewicks ain't too bad!! Off to rewick this afterburner!! Thanks vapdivrr!

yes, I sat down one day and did build after build trying to mess things up and at least that day, the only way I could get a dry hit was by using to little in the coil. I even over packed the coil a few times and no dry hits (althought the flavor was terrible). that day I started to hear this afterburn and knew it was from the amounts in the coil. now for me anyways, if I use the correct amounts in the coil, sometimes with my 2 mm diameter coil, it can be just right in the coil, but slightly to much tails. so for my 2mm coils, after I thread thru, I then slightly trim away some of the tails. under 2mm diameters, I don't feel I need to do that. its definitely a fine line though with the afterburn, because just a smidgen more makes it perfect.

I switched to Rayon, much cleaner tastin but less vapor I think.

for some reason I don't use rayon in the kayfuns. I use it in my aquas and erlkonigin and drippers, but use kgd in my kayfun and fogger. I do like rayon but just haven't spent enough time using it in the kayfuns to perfect it yet.

Yeaaaaah I finally gave up on my pride and gave up on trying to make rayon work on my kayfun. I had ONE BUILD that went through at least 8 tanks of NETs. Couldn't recreate it no matter how I tried. I've put in at least 50 -60 builds and they all failed.

They all had the same problem: VAPES astoundingly well for the first maybe 4 hours. Then I start getting the dry hits and sizzles indicating the rayon wick has collapsed. But I've alrdy stuffed the crap outta the coil. So. Yeah. I'm stumped.

KGD has been ever so consistent for me. It's just ridiculously simple.

Yes its weird, my very first rayon build worked great in the kayfun and I thought, "wow this seemed easier then cotton" but then it seemed harder and more picky to work with the rayon in the kayfun. After the next 2 builds failed I haven't tried since because it's just so easy with the kgd.

I don't use anything but Rayon anymore.

Me too√ I have kept my Shiseido and Organic Cotton at bay for a while since the CC-Rayon happened. It is so easy to use and performs exactly as the ... Cottons anyway. Besides that's one box-load of material to consume over our vape lifetime ;)
