I think I DID damage the O-ring. It got wedged between the chimney part and the top, and probably cut it, at least partially.

twall, To some of your comments.

Clones and copies are not necessarily bad. There are some that are even better.
The 3.1 is not necessarily better than the Lite. It's a version that its distinguishing feature was adjustable air flow and filling without removing from the mod. The original Lite filled from the bottom and didn't have AFC.
The Lite Plus (Lite+) corrected that.
The Lite+ v2 modified the top cap for a better seal between it and the chimney.
Some Lite+v2 have twin air intakes.
The lite is less tall than the 3.1 and the bottom fill is more foolproof (specially leakproof). Inconvenience is nil.
Lack of AFC is moot. >99% of users prefer it wide open or better if possible (I remove the adjusting screws!).

I hope it throws some light.

I'm what political junkies call a "1%er". MY KFL+ AFC is half way. :)

Hello. I am glad I have found this thread. I have been using the authentic KFL+'s for about 4 months now and I am so freakin happy with them. In 4 years of vaping and tons of equipment they are by far my favorite pieces of vape gear.

Yepper! Most consider the KFL a game changer.

Hello vapedivrr, and thanks for imparting your knowledge! I bow in your general direction and repeat " I'm not worthy " :thumb:  Yeah, just a gentle turn out of end of coil, alongside coil then down to deck. I think it works because of the superior wicking of the Japanese cotton but I'm not sure. I got three refills off one wick and original didn't look that bad. BUT, I am using an MVP at between 8-9.5 watts so pretty low. Just dry burned, rewicked yesterday and still working awesome! Fairly high in the resistance department tho @ 2 ohms so don't know how it will work if you pour on the power! Draw is awesome tho because top of coil is open and been getting a lot of flavor out of it. I was going to try a 1.5-1.6 ohm next time and see how it works! Give er a try and let me know what you think!

Edit: Not truely a micro coil at 3/32, more a mini but splitting hairs here!
Thank you very much... like you said, it could be due to the ... cotton that makes the difference. Tbh, I haven't been doing too much testing lately with the kayfun since switching to ... cotton and rayon, so with these new materials, I may have to revisit some of the tried and partially failed attempts of things I tried in the past. Also like you said, the results I got could be different because of the difference in power, which I never vape below 15 watts. I have 2 kayfuns in which I vape 15 and the others closer to 20. sounds interesting though, so next rewick will try, thanks

LOL! You made my evening! I should know better than to throw unsustantiated statistics... :) Enjow your Kayfuns any way you like them. That's their forte; versatility and adaptability.

Take care!

Hi all, my 1st post in this thread.

Just felt like posting this if anyone finds it useful.

I got my KFL+ 6months ago, it's a clone but not sure manufactured by whom, it came in a black box with no label. Very well built, supposedly 1:1.
It works right out with whatever coil I put in it, no dry hits, no leaks and I was happy with it. I got it for the main purpose as an 'outdoor' atty as I've been using drippers all these while and a real hassle when I'm outside the house.

One thing I noticed, it has 'tightish' draw since I lung inhale in all my RDAs. I removed the air setscrew completely and it was a bit better but still tight. Read about people drilling the base hole, mine measured 1/16(1.6mm) all the way in, the center post hole measured 1.5mm and obviously the choke point, so I enlarged it a bit to 1.6mm, same as the base.
Draw improved slightly but still can't lung hit comfortably without slipstreaming.

Remembered reading here that some folks open up the center post to 5/64(1.98mm) and get good airflow but the walls of the post will be quite thin and may break when install/uninstall. After thinking about it, I'm willing to never ever to remove the post to change insulator or cleaning, so I tightened it as much as I could before drilling out to 5/64,together with the base hole as well.
Airflow improves considerably but somehow not quite there yet for me, plus beginning to get dry hits occasionally.

Tried searching if anyone drilled bigger than that. Seems that some opened up to 3/32(2.34mm) but only for the base hole. Center post wall looks quite thin but a little bit more reaming should be ok. Took out a 2.2mm bit and open it up as well as the base hole. Now the walls look real thin, haha. Think it'll break if I try to take it out.

Enlarged the juice channels as well and now finally I can lung hit like my RDAs with lots of vapor. Amazingly,I don't really notice any loss of flavour and very comparable performance to my RDAs (IGO-W, Nimbus and Zenith V2, all running single coils). So far tried up to 24w with no issues.

To think that I was looking at Orchid V2 or Fogger V4 to replace this KFL+ as my out and about atty, now it's staying with me as my reliable and good performing companion:toast:

I dare not drill out anything on my K'funs / Russians in paranoia of ruining them. $100++ is quite a sum to play around with, for me. Estia (tri-coil design) is the airiest of all K'funish attys and Erlkonigin (single coil design) is way airier in the same format. But all of them are a take on our beloved - long tested K'funs!
