You all have no idea how much this section, and this thread particularly has helped me. I stared vaping oct 1st with vision spinners/kanger tank....starter kit and didn't even know what an atomizer was. Well, I built my first kayfun tonight, 1.3 ohms with 28 guage. The flavor and taste is so much better, the sense of accomplishment is the icing. I'm using it with a zna and playing with the watts to find my sweet spot now...I love this thing.

Still have questions about wicking, I went with more and just loosely tapped it down. Some of these perfect wicks look great you all have been showing.

Anyway, if there are any members reading is and wanting to get into building coils I would encourage you to do it. I'm going to give my kanger tanks to friends and buy a couple more kayfun lite v2s.

Thanks for the pics, advice, and video how-tos everyone.

And soon enough you'll become one of us: :toast:

Word of advise: Don't fixate on just Kayfun. Not that it is a bad device, but don't you want to try other ones? Like Fogger, Taifun GT, Rose V2, Squape Reloaded, Erlkonigin, Lemo, AGA-T7, Orchid, Kaiser and many more. Coming from the guy that has 6 Kayfuns. LOL

Hey, didn't want to make a new thread because I don't think it deserves it. Can anyone comment on the 510 pin in relation to the 510 threading. On my RDA my 510 connection sticks out slightly from the threading, but on my KFL+ clone it is pretty darn flush. It reads on my ohm reader without any fluctuation and it also fires on my device, reads consistently too. In consequence the center pin airhole isn't flush with the positive block, this does not bother me as much. The KFL+ vapes fine, although I'm limited to a MVP2.

Can I try lowering the pin's bottom insulator when reassembling the atomizer to solve this issue? I'm not too sure if it's an actual issue or not. Any comments would be appreciated.

IMO: You don't have an issue. Don't fix it if it an't broken :toast:

Alright, thanks for the reply. Maybe I'll mess around with it later, but it's definitely nothing urgent since I'm getting a consistent vape.

Btw, you cut that that rayon like a boss. I'm going to try that next time I install a new wick. Rayon love over here too.

I may have to try rayon again.

When I tried it before it did not wick well for me but I was on that less is better kick then.

Might work now that more is better is my prefered method

Remember, you and I had that discussion a while back? When I started using Rayon and it would work in every tank of mine but Kayfuns.
Well, after endless number of tries and some help from JeremyR and others of the Rayon Thread. I've got it down to science now. IMO
The trick is: "Less is less, way less" Fill your coil, stuff it with Rayon until you feel "a squeak" (not hear, but feel. Like rubbing your skin in a shower to make sure you've rinsed the soap off). That "Magic Squeak" is your indication that you've reached the proper Rayon density in your coil.
You could employ "Double Penetration" to achieve better results: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...avor-saturation-nic-hit-784.html#post14429295

And lastly, the tails: It is very important to trim them down, to thin them. Because, due to the Rayon's super liquid conductivity, it will flood your Kayfun if you leave the tails too thick..
That's all there is to it.
1. Right density.
2. Trimmed tails.

Earlier in this thread DUSTY_D mentioned that Kayfun has a limit of 15 -17 Watts.

I am completely in agreement with his statement.

I've tried to push it higher. Wicked with Organic Cotton, it just couldn't supply enough e-liquid to the coil causing dry hits.

I tried wicking it with Rayon which was able to keep my coil wet, but look what happened to my insulator:

On that thought: My Rose V2 at 30 Watts is still going strong for four days and 25 Ml of E-Liquid.

Which I honestly did not expect with this build:

Won a Clauper ZNA 30 clone on ebay for $51. My regular setup with my Kayfuns that was best for me was 30g kanthal wrapped 7 times around a double 3mm silica wick at 1.8 to 2 ohms with my 100% PG liquids. Flavor was best under 5 watts. With the ZNA I now have to re-learn with higher ohms to get the best flavor because of the 7 watt minimum. I'm trying 2.5+ ohms at 7-8 watts and it might work. I really like the ZNA.

Your probably the lowest watt person around, especially these days when most keep increasing.

I think you are going to need to do alot of trial and error to push wattage up very high using silica that why alot of us use cotton or other wicking materials

I hated cotton. It never worked well for me. I like getting 5-8 fills between cleanings with silica.

Yes have read your posts it works for you and that's great... it's all that counts. Just saying you might have issues if you try to turn the wattage up too high.

Trial and error

I avg about a week before I change out my cotton wicks 2 refills a day

I see a lot of you guys have different tips. Where do you get your tips from? My wife hates the steel feel on her teeth and wants something like plastic i guess . Trying to get her over to the kayfun provari setup since I have a spare and I hate buying atomizers for her Ecab/Eroll setups...any intel is appreciated.

Roger. My wife was the same way. When she found Trippy Tips at trippytips.com she has never looked back. The feel of pyrex and the vapor enhancements not to mention the beautiful artistry are all benefits.

They are sold on the website and other vendors carry them too.
Forgot to mention the price? They are kind of cool those trippys but expensive
