I give and had to dig up my damn log in information. I need some suggestions with this poor thing before it gets shelved or sold or gifted. I cannot for the life of me get good flavor out of this thing its not burnt or dry its just lifeless. I've tried about 8 different builds from basic to a single fused clapton and the results are all nearly the same minimal flavor decent clouds I even went so far as to make some 50/50 juice for it which is now being used in a GG Tilly and tasting great. Fill me in on the magic bullet to get this things flavor upto par.
If you find the magic bullet, please post. I'm in the same boat KFL+ lover but can't get even close to the flavor on this!

After a good amount of trial and error, I'm getting very nice flavor. I settled on a 2mm, 28g, 1.6Ω (10 wraps) contact coil at 3.7V. Another BIG factor is wicking: I'm using organic cotton. It's very easy to over-stuff the juice wells, and this results in muted flavor. It helps for the ends of the wicks to be wispy- you can fluff them out with a pin. Gently place the ends so they just touch the bottom of the well. Even when you think you've got it just right it can be too much. You'll know when you remove the used wick: You'll say "OMG! Look at all that was down in there!" You may also notice some dry spot on the wick. These do not wick like a KFL+. The folks who say that you can put any build in it and it's great are full of bologna, or they just aren't fussy flavor chasers like me. It take some trial and error to get the hang of it, but once you get it- it's great!

Mine always come out great no matter what or how my wicks look. I am VERY picky with the flavor of my tobacco flavors and I have NOT had a bad set-up in these tanks. So please don't say I am full of anything... The only wick I have tried that was NOT great was from rayon. Cottons and Ekowool have all been great with all different sizes too.

If your every build turns out "great" you are a very lucky boy and I'm over the moon happy for you. Some of us are just constantly chasing that "amazingly good" flavor and that elusive build that gives it up in any device. Once I find a build/wick that works well, I stick with it. Even so, every one turns out a little different because no two (or more) builds will ever be exactly the same. It's like playing the lottery, except that the odds are a lot better and I frequently get a good payoff.

What some consider "great" others may not.

Agreed, and your build won't work for me. It is great that after so many failed attempts you found something your happy with.

because you had such difficulty in hitting the sweet spot for how and what you vape does not mean others will, or do.

Way to many variables for a one build fits all scenario. That said the Kayfun Mini 3 is one of the most forgiving tanks I've built, you can do a mediocre build and it still does pretty well.

If someone is able to put pretty much any build in an atomizer and end up with great results it probably means they are an experienced enough builder that they are able to achieve proper wicking regardless of the coil used. It certainly does not mean they are "full of bologna".

The diversity of builds the mini 3 works great with attests to this fact.

When someone posts a build on the forums it is not, or shouldn't, be considered the "sliced bread" of vaping, it should be considered a starting point for less experienced individuals, or just a simple guide.

Airflow, power, wire type, wicking media, coil location/proportions, even flavors used, all play a part. Once you get down to it most everything is subjective.

Maybe. Maybe not. It may also mean that they're more easily pleased. The notion of being able to put any build in a RTA and get great results is ridiculous. Or bologna.

I know I'm in the minority, and I'm glad that most of you are finding the KFMV3 so easy. I've also been building/rebuilding coils and wicks for 3+ years, so I know a little about it. And I know that one can't put "any" build in any RTA and expect "great" results, or at least, not results that I would consider great.

All I'm saying is that most are finding they get great results with this tank right away. Some even saying this gives the best flavor. Only a few people are having a hard time getting these to work well.
I am well aware of all of that, ricks, and glad that most are having an easy time with this RTA. My original post above was in response to another guy/gal who's also having trouble getting the flavor they seek. Who can better help him/her than someone who's had similar experience. The "I don't have any trouble with it. It works great even if I wick it with tuna!" posts don't ever really help.

(REMOVED, knoci it off) I'd agree that the new gen of kayfuns are very forgiving, but we are here to help if you're having trouble.

With wicking, try placing your cotton dry. Take the tip of your tweezers or screwdriver, press the cotton against the deck, and fold the tips in every so gently. To press it into the deck, lay your tweezers or screwdriver perpendicular to the top of the cotton and slightly press down until it gives you slight resistance. That way you won't have packed it in and the tips of your cotton will stay fluffy.

Hope that helps.

agreed as well. Love the KM3 as it is, but I have long moved to short and 22mm atties, so if SM was up for a larger, shorter version, I'ld be sold.
2ml work fine since refilling is a no-brainer

I don't understand their infatuation with making their minis thinner (and keeping them tall). Shorter is where it's at! I'm still kinda undecided about the K5 just because of it's length.
