Kayfun/Russian wick setup that works great for me.

Someone do a detailed step by step photo guide plzzz. For some weird reason I can't seem to figure out where the wick twists and turns around.

And that's coming from an engineer. Hahahahah

Just make the cotton isnt too thick or it will be hard for the juice to wick all the way around the coil. It best getting a thin strand of cotton and rolling it fine. I'm gonna raise mine more when I finish the tank

basically just thread it thru the coil as usual, bring it down into the deck, then back up into the coil. repeat on the other side (green)

my current wick is very simliar, but I have it on the sides of the coil, will try to cover the top on my next wick to see how it compares

I use the needle from the refill bottles to poke the wicks into place, once they are saturated with juice they tend to stick pretty good, and with a little patience I find it easy to get them to stay in place

I still need to try the truman wick. But all of mine vape so well with no issues, I have a hard time changing my setup.
I kinda hate breaking these things down unless it is totally necessary.
I suppose I should try it out next time I NEED to rewick.
I think my 91% is about a days vaping away from needing it.

So you shove the end of the wick Back into the coil? that sounds almost impossible. Sigh

I hope this helps anyone trying a simple build that works flawlessly on my kfl+ for the last month and a half since I had it. I use a wooden toothpick with 10 wraps of 28g kanthal came out to 1.5 ohms and 3 strands of peaches and creme cotton yarn from Walmart that was boiled for 20 minutes. This helps with always having the exact amount of cotton needed every time.

Here is how high my coil is

Thread cotton through and place like this before cutting to get the right length

Then lift up cotton through chimney and screw on.

Push cotton back down but don't jam it in there. Let it rest on the deck. It doesn't matter if the channels are covered as long as the cotton doesn't get in there.

Yup I raised my coil a little more and now Truman's wicking method pops even more. Awesomesauce.

Though the TH is a bit more harsh, its good trade off for more VP and taste.

I think you might be over-thinking this. as truman posted eariler: "..install your wick as you normally would, just leave enough wick to loop back up, you'll tuck in on the coil sides between screw heads and coil sides...that's it."

using the above pics from dnutz as a reference for typical wick lenght.. the only difference between them, is that the wick needs to be a little longer...so that it can go down into the deck as dnutz did.. but with the extra lenght, after you reach the deck, simply do an U-turn back upwards...and leave it siting on top of the coil.. no "back into the coil" required

hopefully dnutz won't mind if I post a quick edit of one of his pics to illustrate:

if it still doesn't make sense, please post back and I will make some pictures later tonight as I plan to re-wick mine

Omg that explains it!!! I was always trying to understand where the ends of the wick went!

Thanks for the graphics Sunnata, very cool. With the pictured wicking method, if not done just right air flow could be slightly effected...So I've slightly changed it, it's easier to do, won't effect air flow and seems to be an overall improvement. I'll post pics when I re-wick. Pretty easy...first wick tail ends on a deck and folds back on itself covering most of that deck, the other side is left long enough to loop straight up and over the coil, it'll meet the wick on the other side, you'll do this with the wick good and wet so you can squash the cotton around the top half of the coil...been running this method for a few days, outstanding performance.

As long as u raise the coils with a good enough gap there shouldnt b any airflow problem. I have 0 flooding or gurgling too

On occasion it would tighten up ever so slightly, but never a problem, it wicked perfectly and never a gurgle. With my new method AF is wide open and better all around performance, and like I mentioned, easier to wick...by days end I'll post pics.
