My recent issues are probably due to the 90 ish % VG juice I've trying to vape with it recently. It's very thick. I'm gonna make a new wick and coil and use some thinner juice in there and see if I can make it work like it used to, aka perfectly.

Or… I'll just vape the Nimbus that showed up today :)

So Cal
k back late sorry folks

I use mine with an ibtanked normally vape 50/50 30/70 juice

I wrape my coil with a 2mm wick.

one key thing ive found is to not cram all of the wicks in the well. too much wick in the well it will dry hit like a ..... also when inserting the ceramic into the post i put it in all the way in and back it out ever so slightly.

filling, remove the adapter, fill. screw on the bottom connector (while it on the top cap) thread all the way. once it's locked open juice control.

i really do hope everyone jumps onto the diver. maybe I can snag some cheap killers. though I dont even use the killer too much anymore since I got a Kayfun. I drip at home.

After using my Diver(s) for the last few days over my Killer(s) I will say that I can't believe I ever put up with the Killer.

If I had to put it in simple terms, the Diver is the Killer's older brother: while the Killer sits in her room and complains about small problems that aren't really problems and is occasionally really happy when she's with her boyfriend (whose name is probably Ken) she's an overall unhappy 16 year old that's always trying to figure out ways to change the world around her. Her older brother Diver on the other hand, while he too isn't always as happy as he could be, doesn't really care, he just sits back, takes a light vape, and keeps on trucking. Diver just likes the easy laid back days of drinking a few beers, going outside, reading some good Russian lit, and vaping.
Dude you are making it really hard not to order one this very minute! ;)

What do you guys think of the silica that comes with the premade coils houseofmods sells?

I've been slowly working my way through the 20 I ordered and have been saving the cups to rebuild my own coils once the prebuilt ones run out.

Depending on what juice I'm using I've been changing them up every 2~3 weeks.

Last night I put a new one in and it tastes really funky, not even sure how to describe it. It's not burnt tasting, but it makes me promptly run to the bathroom and use some mouthwash.

Now that I'm awake I'm going to drain my tank and put a new one in after I give it a good wash.

I guess my point is, I thought these would have been "cleaned" before they were built. But I guess not? Or is it the silica itself? I've been through about 4 other cups and never really noticed it until this one. Also, do you know what type of wire they use for the coils?

Been attempting to be more "safe" with my vaping. Everything in glass/SS, keeping an eye on whats in my juice and putting all of it in glass bottles, ect. Now I need to pay more attention to my wicks and coils.

How about telling us your secret because I'm not too happy with mine either. :(

The first few times I changed a cup out I basically handed it to my boyfriend for the day until he got it working perfectly. It really was just a matter of finding the sweet spot on the feed hole. I refill my tank about once a day and it works perfect immediately. I've gotten the whole thing down to taking less than a minute.

I have a regular (2.8ml?) phiniac tank.

I take off the bottom cap (I always leave the top cap on since it's a pita to fit through the cap holes).
Flip it upside down and fill it to the fill hole on the killer.
Pop the cap back on.
I quickly take a few long toots, just because if I leave it right after filling it will flood a bit from the pressure.
I make sure I never ever mess with the feed hole. If I manage to close it somehow when I'm washing between coils I try to put it back exactly how it was.

Works great. Bubbles all day and clouds of vapor.

I know a lot of you are much more experienced than me with both the killer and RBAs in general. But this is just how I do it with 100% consistency, so maybe it will help someone.

I also use a 70/30 PG-VG mix for the most part. My boyfriend uses 80% VG sometimes on his killer, but doesn't seem to have too much of an issue aside from maybe opening the feed hole every once in a while.

Sorry you guys don't like your killer =( I liked vaping before, but the killer has made me love it. Hopefully I'll get another one soon :)

That's why I'm so frustrated. I have used mine in a Phiniac tank and filled just like you do but after a few good drags I get dry hits. I use 100% VG but it's diluted with 5% DW and I have the juice control all the way open. :( I never see bubbles except when I take an unpowered draw but I have to do this every couple of drags. It's becoming quite a drag.

There's a pun in there somewhere. Mine doesn't actively bubble while I'm vaping it if that's of any consolation. It usually bubbles once I've stopped so the atmosphere can reset. Still can't take a chain vape like my other devices but its been doing alright here and there.

Same.. I'll take a few hits and put it on my table. That is when I see the bubble :) Not everytime, but I do catch it doing it a few times a day if I'm paying attention to it.

tmcase what resistance and voltage are you running?

I hate to say this, but I am relieved that I am not the only one. I loved it at first, but it did take quite a bit of fiddling to get it to work. Once I had it dialled in it was good for awhile and then back to fiddling. I got tired of it and haven't touched my killer in awhile. I ordered a diver, but I haven't touched it yet. While I was waiting for it to get here I ordered a Reo and a RM2 RBA, it's such a hassle free vape that there's no going back for me. Lots of room to work, no dry hits, and very little fiddling. I build a coil and then vape until I need to rebuild, which isn't that often. I'm going to sell my killer, my diver, and a bunch of the other stuff I've accumulated. I hope you guys have better luck than me figuring out the killer.

I agree. I have a Reo Woodvil with a Reomizer 2 on it and it is totally hassle free.

But with that said...I replaced the coil/wick with a stock setup, put it in my Prive clone with juice control closed and both caps in place. Then I filled through the top fill hole like someone above suggested then opened the juice control all the way. It has been working fine for the last 30 minutes with no dry hits but time will tell. I hate this silica in the stock setups though. No flavor. I'll keep vaping it until the tank is dry to see if I get any dry hits then I'll rebuild with ecowool and try again.

I just jumped on the (bottom feed) Reo/RM2 bandwagon too & agree 100%. It's a hassle free vape. I may keep my killer & diver for something to tinker with tho. Or when I feel like being aggravated. And then there's always the joy of building those NR/R/NR coils.

What kind of problems are you having with the Diver? I want one but am reluctant after all the trouble with the Killer.

It worked great for a while. And to be honest, some of my trouble was likely related to the heavy caramel tobbaco DIY juice I use daily. But it just started acting similar to my killer; giving sketchy performance for no apparent reason. And after all the trouble I'd experienced w/the killer I didn't have much patience left for the diver. They're both benchwarmers now.

Just what I need. Another finicky RBA.

Congrats tmcase, glad to hear things are working for the moment at least. I agree with you on the stock silica, that stuff is crap. I rebuild my coils with 3mm silica I got in a 10 meter length from cloudsofvapor.com, which they unfortunately no longer sell in those lengths, and that stuff seems pretty good to me. Let me know if things keep going well, or even if they go south, and I can try to think of anything I can suggest that might help. Good luck.
