I've just unpacked my USB cable to have a go without plugging it into the computer. It only has a metre long wire, not a metre and half as I said before. I put a fully charged ecigar battery into it and am puffing away. This is strange but I am not getting the harsh taste I was getting with the standard batteries. The atomiser isn't heating up as much and the vapour is keeping its taste rather than cooking. The only thing different is the power source, I'm using the same switch, atomiser and juice.

My conclusion is moving towards the standard batteries giving too much power to the atomiser and overheating it. I can't see any other reason why this would be different with the USB battery. I have three standard batteries and can't get a good taste or the atomiser to burn cooler with any of them. Maybe it isn't so much my technique after all. Has anyone else who has tried the USB battery found a difference in performance in comparison with standard batteries?

I've emailed Harry at Janty Europe to ask about getting an extension for my USB cable, I can't see anything on the website that does this.

I have found Kate that the USB works alright but the power isn't there for somebody that once more kick. But if you prefer it slightly milder this might be some sort of answer for you

personally i dont feel much different between test USB and batteries..maybe just not sensitive enough ;-) , but im using USB cord only with manual switch (as my automatic janty swith out of order)

I like smooth, tasty vapour Ned, I'm beginning to wonder if some of the kick some people talk about could be cooked vapour. To me it's a harsh, rough feeling at the back of my throat and the taste of the juice doesn't come through.

Thanks again Vaf, I thought it was something Janty would supply. Do you happen to know if there's a way to adapt a USB cable to plug into the mains supply? That might be a dangerous thing to do I suppose but it would be handy to know about.

I have two USB units and they both perform the same slightly underpowered than using the batterys and these are their new version units which are supposed to perform better than the previous ones.
And as I have five classics units all the switches perform the same whether you use manual and auto it just feels underpowered to using the batteries but this is what I am experiencing while using the USB units we tend to use them in the car rather than the computer.

I think you'll find it's a combination of the four hole atomiser which brews more than your Generic type atomiser and more powered batteries.
I always find when using the Generic type atomiser you get more flavour than you do with a four hole atomiser as they don't seem to cook the liquid as quickly and find this is the disadvantage of the four hole atomiser.
Perhaps the liquid needs to be made richer especially for more lively atomiser that way we might get more flavour perhaps that's why theJanty RY4 is popular? As it has a rich flavour to it.

yess, have the same feeling, different atomizers giving different test of the same eliquid; i feel more flavor when i use generic than janty; probably one of the main reason is 4 holes of janty atomizer-its give more air..but the same time its give more smoth felling; probably its also could be regulated with a different "smoking technic"

Yeah, I get great taste and decent vapour with my Ruyan ecigar and my generic classic is also reasonable. The Sedansa Diva I tried a while back burned hot like my Kissbox too. It's getting better now, I'm using a topped up cartridge a little bit of dripping, manual switch and ecigar battery in the USB cable. Good vapour and nice taste. Hopefully it will last.

I'm thinking of buying this adapter - DealExtreme: $4.28 1000mA USB AC Adapter (UK) I think that's the UK version of the one Vaf suggested. Could someone who is technically minded with these things have a look for me and tell me if it's suitable for connecting to my Kissbox. I'm concerned that it might not be a good idea to be connected directly to the mains supply. There is a battery and switch between me and the supply this way, is that safe enough?

You see the problem is Kate the atomiser on the sedansa and theJanty are identical except for the paint job . you find if you screw a Generic battery into the theJanty or sedansa atomiser it won't brew quite as much or try using a Generic cartridge which will give you a lesser easy draw this also will bring out more flavour.

Never forget the mouthpiece this contributes to the easy draw with the atomiser.

Example use a sedansa or Janty. cartridge in a Generic pen style and it will give it an easy er draw and do the opposite with a Generic cartridge in the sedansa or theJanty. The latter you might find better for flavour. Just change the core and liquid

hi ned, i just measured the output of USB cord and batterie of JantyKiss; so from freshly charged battery iv got 5,07 V, from USB cord 3,8 v. i think it could be different depend from particular unit , but it could be also the case for your experience of "underpowered" usb

does anybody find the Janty Kissbox cartridges to be a little short-lived?

I find that mind dry out really quickly and I have to top up with e-liquid quite often, but in addition to that, the top-up life is quite low, because it doesn't seem to absorb or retain the liquid for very long.

Any thoughts or is it just me?

cheers

Hi all,

I am lucisac, after reading the great reviews in this thread and watching the detailed videos by Leaford, I decided to choose the Janty Kissbox Classic e-cig. I have not used an e-cig before so I am looking forward to the new experience.

Why I chose Janty?

1. It's great to see the company get involved with the end users in the e-cig forums, this boosted my confidence in the product and the valued support.
2. Leaford's videos, explaining in honest, thorough detail, and a spot on 5 star rating system (which I think is fantastic) gives me clear indication from his vast experience in e-smoking, that Janty is one of the top brands to try, so I am feeling quite confident about the whole new experience to come.

I thank you both for your contribution and I look forward to having my first draw with the Janty Kissbox soon and will enjoy telling you my stories and experiences also. Great work guys! Keep it up!
