Hi this will be my first choice. Why do I see different looking models? Cigeasy say they carry the newest model. Some where on this forum someone mentioned they did't get a good throat hit but didn't say where he got it. Others with the kr808d 1 says they did. Vaper king website carries the kr also I noticed, with many more options for it, like a better 380 Mah battery. Who should I buy this model from locally in the usa?
Thanks in advance.

I have heard some iffy things about cigeasy, and my parents had a really awful experience with them.

I actually would recommend ordering from either truesmoker or bestecig.com.

Bestecig.com is actually a chinese company that ships international express for a flat rate and has AMAZING products. I have not had a single issue with anything I've ordered from them. I recently placed another order last Thursday and the products are already in my country of origin (Canada).

Never used cigeasy but have heard a few negative things. Litecigusa (PA) is decent with price and shipping (free with order of $15 or more). Personally, I got mine from Vapor4Life(IL) . I like the color options and the XL batteries are great, and you can buy a large variety of juice there which eliminates selecting multiple vendors. 2 out of the 5 of my manual batteries have had problems with the button sticking - maybe user error tho as i don't really treat them very delicately. The passthrough works wonders, and I love cartomizers far more than attys and carts (never really gave dripping a chance so no opinions there). I don't think that there is a big difference in throat hit between the 510 and the kr808. The 510 may be a slightly better, but with mostly pg juice and a decent amount of nicotine i barely notice.

Ever thought about using the eGo (510 with better batt life)? has good reviews and you can buy 510 cartomizers or and adapter(madvapes) to use the kr808 cartomizers, if cartomizers are what your into ( assuming as much since you want a kr808).

dale,
I'm a huge fan of Puresmoker.com and their Ace kit is a KR808D-1. The base kit (2 batts, USB charger, and wall adapter) is only $29. Their customer service is what sells it though...they've always been outstanding in that department. Each vendor has their own pro's and con's, and out of the list I've seen recommended here, they are all great. I mentioned this kit because you can get it for a little bit of money to start out with, and their Atomz (808 cartomizers) are under $9 for a 5 pack. Just my $.02 worth though :D

As stated already, Litecigusa, V4L, vaporkings, etc. are all reputable companies and you should have no problem with any of them.

I am a huge Vapor4Life fan but lately the prefilled cartos have been arriving bone dry and they still send me liquor flavor samples even though I have expressly requested that they don't (not a fan of alcohol) but can't beat the prices and quick turn around...I have been buying juice of my faves but I think the extra long batts is actually what is causing my probs, another sale is on now so will be going back to the regular size batts

I'm confused about the KR808D-1 too, and I've had one for 3 months! Mine was purchased before I read all the confusing (to me) info about the KR, and mine was stated to be non-Kanger. I asked the supplier who the manufacturer is, but the supplier wasn't willing to divulge that info. That just makes me hesitant about purchasing accessories and/or replacement parts. Wish I'd known more about the KR differences b4 I purchased one. Does anyone know who the various manufacturers are? And how to know what I've got. the one thing I do know is that the battery connection has 2 threads vs 3 threads.

A few weeks ago, I wrote a comparative review of three models including the Kr8. In it, I list various good suppliers of that model: starter kits, batteries, and cartomizers. Those good suppliers include all those, which have been mentioned by others in this thread.

Each supplier has special strengths, e.g., Vapor4Life has a huge selection, LiteCigUSA has low prices and free shipping, and CigEasy has just come out with the Elegant (a 750 mAh eGO-like battery for the Kr8), the first of its kind. [I just wrote a review of it.] Also, Vapor4Life, CigEasy, and VaporNine carry new and improved cartomizers: Premium, Gold Label, and Turbo, respectively.

Tip: If you decide to go with V4L, move quickly. They have a 22% off coupon code ("Customer22") which expires Wednesday at midnight (Pacific Time). Of course, they do have frequent sales.

I really like the v4l cartomizers, just received my first few boxes of coolcarts and they are the way to go imo. They hold more juice and don't get hot while vaping.

I haven't tried an actual 808 battery with these cartomizers, have used on eGos and my silver bullet (3.7 & 6v) and a vp pt (5v)with excellent results. I do have to run an adapter with these since they are all 510 connections, got the adapter for $3 from madvapes and they work great.

510 to 901/808-D Adapter

I know your question is about 808 batteries but I have never used one so I can't tell you anything about that first hand. I can tell you that the silver bullet with a 18650 battery lasts me 2 full days on a single charge and the vapor is excellent using v4l cartos. As a matter of fact this is my favorite setup I have ever used :vapor:

Happy vaping
