That horse has left the barn..........long ago.
This was something people were posting back in 2011 .......
And calling the devices "vapers" seems silly, since Forbes probably doesn't know that that is what people who vape are called. (Maybe they meant "vaporizers"?)
Calling the devices "personal vaporizers" (PVs) is pretty standard now........or mods.

My daughter calls it my "fake smoker" So I, in turn have come to use the term "fake smoker." 
Everytime I type out the term "e-cigarette", I cringe. It just doesn't feel right and by continuing to use this term, we really lump in vaping devices with cigarettes, IMO. But, and maybe I am wrong in this, when I discuss or write about vaping, I just feel most non-vapers won't know what a personal vaporizer is but would know what in e-cigarette is. On Twitter, you see a lot of #e-cig and #e-cigarette, and #vaping, but never #PersonalVaporizer or #VapingDevice. So I've just gone with the flow.
It's unfortunate nomenclature we seem to be saddled with, but I would sure rather we weren't.

Feel like I just time warped back to the day I joined.
Maybe Forbes will have some influence. They are very positive on the whole subject and have published some very helpful articles and opinions.
I call it my mod, my wife calls it the hand-cannon. If people ask me I call it a vaporizer, and if that creates a blank stare I resort to e-cig.

Mine all came with names. So it's my Provari, or my N-Zonic, or my Caravela, or my Mako, etc.-etc.
Those who feel that they're in a time warp- I've been a member since 2009 when we all were giving directions on how to pack the foam aquarium filter material above the coil so it coats the coils just right. 
So calling it anything but e-cigarette is great.
****I'm editing to add that due to reading Retired1's link, I've changed my mind. There's very good reason for calling it e-cig at this time.
