majority of forum members might not feel this way, but for countless years, human beings have been naming things to identify what those things are. and good number of them were renamed as needed. with Fed and ANTZ jumping all over the places trying to shove down their idiotic regulations, it is time to get rid of the term "e-cig". lot of the general public doesn't know what a mod looks like or how it even operates. to them, it just a new gizmo some people use. by not associating the mods with cig, their perception will change. slowly at first... but it will gain momentum. we will have those on our side. it's a game. if we win, we vape freely. if we don't, we will be treated just like smokers and their future is just getting worse. it's an image transformation. winning the public. educating them so they can be on our side. keeping calling our devices e-cig and we'll lose even those who knows that it has nothing to do with cig.

It depends where you are. Apparently it has no negative connotation in the UK and in someother places around the world it doesn't even refer to the same place. See Wikipedia for a few areas, bottom of the page; Orient.
