Should I get different batteries? I have a battery charger that came with one of my previous mods, it doesn't have much information on it, but it charged the Efest 18500 IMR batteries just fine. Can I use it with new batteries? I just don't want to have to buy another charger if I don't have to.

If you get the smaller vmod just get the 14500 batteries from vapage. If you get the xl I suggest the protected Panasonic 18650 3400mAh from FastTech. I'm a heavy vaper so I needed the higher battery capacity. The xl really isn't that big at all. Very pocket friendly...

The batteries are protected so if they fit the charger you should be okay. Investing in a good charger is never a bad idea though.

Red alert, red alert, I need some unbiased opinions from the pros. :D So I don't even HAVE my VMod XL yet, it's still in the mail... but I just played around with the mystery code and I can get the digital camo shell I want, and the atties and cartos for 50% off. It's an awesome deal. But - I don't even know if I'll like the mod, let alone if I'll like atties or cartos more, etc. What's your advice? Thanks! ;)

I'm not real keen on those one bay chargers, if that's what you have. I like to shop for Batteries and Chargers at RTD Vapor.

And, I like to recommend AW batteries. The black protected 14500 ones are the ones I usually use in the Vmod2. They cost a bit more than some other brands, but do seem to last longer and perform better than others. I've had the Vapage batteries and have no complaint about them.

There is a "Battery 101" sticky thread here somewhere (it's location escapes me right now) that is worth taking the time to read. There are so many opinions, it's nice to read what ECF has to say.

A good charger will stop charging once a battery is fully charged greatly decreasing the chance of over-charging resulting in venting, fire ,or explosion. A very big deal with unprotected batteries if you aren't watching them charge. Protected are suppose to regulate themselves with built in PCB but, still run the same risks.
Also don't use batteries with" fire" in the name. AW,Efest, Panasonic are all good bets.

50% is a great deaL and 50% off is certainly the time to get that Shell. Get what you like, and stock up a bit---but don't overspend!

You'll like it. Take advantage... especially with the atomizers...

Well, it would be a LOT easier for me to just get the Vmod kit that comes with the battery and charger. I don't want to have to buy stuff from several different sites. The batteries and charger that come with the smaller Vmod should be fine, no? Or is it a big difference for me to get something better? I'm not a heavy vaper for one and have several devices that I use now... unless I decide I like the Vmod more than everything else and use it exclusively.

Also, will the BF atomizers fit other 510 threaded devices? I read in someone's post that their BF attys didn't fit in their ego Twist. And Vapage currently doesn't have extra bottles in stock. Should I get some extra bottles or O rings? aaaaaand one last thing... are the original shell casings made of flimsier material than the other ones you can buy? I kinda want to get one of the shells since they're also on sale.

I was previously going to just buy some new iClear 16 clearos and more atomizers, but with this Vapage discount, I figure the Vmod would be a better buy. Thanks all, you have all been very helpful!!

Yeah, I should definitely at least get the shell. I thought it looked cool as soon as I saw it last week, and I can get it for $15. That price is nuts. Now, to try to figure out what else to order...

Ok, here's a question: since I already own a bunch of Boge LR cartos, will the Vapage Silo perform a ton better or is it similar? If the experience is similar, I could get away with only ordering some more slant coil atties for back-up tonight and calling it a day.

Ugh, and yet another question: I'm assuming that, like on any other non-bottom feeding device, the pros and cons of atties vs. cartos are that the AMG atty will taste cleaner but require squonking more often, while a carto will taste slightly more muted and cottony, but you can chain vape for longer in between squonks. Is that accurate?

lol, we're teaming up on these veterans tonight, huh? The VMods seem so great though. I hope we like them. Great little community here too.

The Bottom Feeding atomizers will fit any 510 or ego threaded device. However, they have holes in them near the base of the atty, so they will leak without the use of some kind of drip shield. They were designed for use with Bottom Feeders, thus the name BF Atty.

The Universal does not have those Bottom Feeding extra holes.

The full kit was designed so one would have everything they need to get started except liquid. You can get that at Vapage too.

Yes pretty accurate. The amg hybrid give a really really clean flavor and good vapor production. Need a break in.

If you're getting the small vmod just get the kit and some atomizers. Though I really do suggest investing in a good solid charger. If you left a unprotected cell on a cheap charger without charging cut off it could get ugly. just saying...

I use Boge LR cartos all the time, with a super shorty drip tip. They are a nice change up from the slant coil atties sometimes, and are cheap to replace. I do find I have to squonk/tap more with the atties. But it's not that big a deal.

Any 510 carto will work, but Smok and Boge have the least filler taste muting...with Boge being #1. Of course the Silos are outstanding, and do last good. Just a bit pricey.

That sounds perfect, so I'll just order the digital camo shell, another 2-pack of atties (I'll give the 1.5ohm a shot), and that'll be that. Then I'll ride out my Boge before maybe stocking up on a ton of Silos (if I fall in love with the mod). Thanks fourthrok.

Do you think the Vapage charger is a crappy one? It looks similar to the other one I have. I can probably keep an eye on the batteries when they charge though so it's not a super big deal.

If you have a few extra bucks I'd recommend ordering something like an XTAR battery charger. It's nice to be able to charge 2 batteries at the same time. The one I have (WP2 II) is like $20 on Amazon.

Couldn't tell you but, the vapage batteries are protected with their own over discharge/charge protection. Still would monitor though. You'll be fine with the kit. Just saying down the road invest in a good one.... Congrats..I think you'll love the vmod..

Solid recommendation but, the one I linked a few pages back from fast tech is a little better and the same price. Take a look machine..I have the xtar and just ordered the 4 bay nite core. No extenders needed for 18350.
