Little update on my Vmod journey. Still really loving both my XLs. Had to send one out for warranty metal part that holds the chimney and the bottle came loose and would slide up and down inside the plastic chassis. Took about 6 weeks for the replacement with 0 contact from Vapage about receiving the bad one, shipping, etc. I followed up by phone a few times and after some issue they were able to update me as to the status, that it was received and the chassis was back ordered. I have a new one back now so all is well.

I have been rotating 6 1.5 ohm hybrid/slant attys for the past 5 months or so. Sometimes they will last a week some times 3. When they start hitting weak I blow it out, soak in alcohol over night, blow it out good and then drop 1 drop of 100% VG and put the condom on for storage. I then use the next one and cycle through them. They were going pretty good until recently. They are not lasting as long and they require much more of the tilt-squeeze dance and are hitting weaker and weaker. They all still read within normal 1.3-1.6 ohm range. I've only had one pop on me. So 1 a month isn't too bad I guess. Just need another 50% off sale so I can restock.

Flavor and vapor is pretty good right up there with micro coils and cotton. Not quite as brilliant but it's way easier to carry around. My cases are beat to s#@% because it's pretty much all I carry when I'm out. I am still very satisfied 8 months in and don't see my Vmods going anywhere anytime soon.

Just got mine in the mail a few hours ago. I've only tried the hybrid atty so far b/c everyone says the silo is sucky, and I like around 1.5 ohms resistance on a mech, so I went for the 2.0 over the 2.5 or whatever those silos are. The feed technique is no biggie, figured it out in a few minutes. invert, turn back up and squeeze hard.
I wasnt that impressed w/ the case, figured it'd be made outta thicker aluminum, whoever said that they ran this mod over w/ a truck w/o completely destroying this had to be making that up. Durable enough, i just wasnt expecting something that thinly cased. Fit and finish is awesome besides thin case.
I also ordered several 510 1.5 ohm shorty atties from a different outfit, holes look bigger so I'm guessin they'll feed better? Havent tried them yet, they are backups to use until I finish madding an a7 I have on the way as well.
Overall, I would give it an 8.5 outta 10, 1.5 off for thin case. works great, tastes great, doesnt leak a drop. First mod I've owned that I can confidently throw in my pocket:)

So despite all advice, I didn't wait for the sale. I only missed out on free shipping, so I'm not upset. I also got the Premium 2.0 kit. I know there are better batteries, and cheaper, but this is my first device with replaceable batteries and my lizard brain feels better ordering everything from the same place. Also, I don't like ordering from overseas. I've done it a couple of times and don't care for the lack of tracking and long delays in shipping.

I ordered everything I mentioned in my last post: the Premium kit, a set of batteries, a set of bottles and 2 sets of o-rings. I also grabbed a bottle kit from Reos in case I want to convert it for blind feeding, and I just ordered an i06 from Ikenvape to try out. I think with this device I'm finally going to try out many of the atomizers I've avoided in the past.

The kit came today. I washed it, charged the battery and fired everything up on a 1.5 atomizer. This thing is hitting better than any of my regulated autos have in the past year. Feeding is simple and intuitive, and the small size feels good and comfortable. I exclusively dripped for nearly a year, and the VMod is reminding me why.

My only complaint is that with the included batteries, it still fires even when the button is locked. That's not a big deal since I can't imagine accidently firing the VMod, but it is an annoyance.

And I don't plan on buying other mods, unless it's another bottom feeder. I'm not a collector. I want a device and liquid combination that gets me off of cigarettes completely, and every purchase in the past year has been leading me to that. Dripping did the trick, but I prefer autos over regulated manuals, and that is a disaster at times. I'm hoping the VMod can bring me back to that golden era.

"Really? There's no positive/negative on a mechanical? I'm new to this."

Well, I can't say that is true for all mechanicals.

I'm sure I've read somewhere on this forum about when you can and when you can't -- but the details escape me. :(

The general rule is put positive side up.....but like much in life, there are exceptions.

The fix I mentioned was recommended by the designer/developer of the vmod.....and I've done it for ages on one of mine.

Well, I got my first vmod(an xl) on tuesday.. and today I finished modding it to fit an A7 RBA. I used methods described in EddieAdams thread. A7 rda, 510-510 connector, a couple orings, drill one hole in the cap, and you're no longer a slave to their proprietary lil hybrid atties. At 9$ a pop, I wasnt about to buy more of those. Plus I found them to not be as satisfying to me as a well built rda. And what fun is it having something w no stupid safety circuitry that shuts off below 1.5 ohms if you cant run under 1.5 ohms, lol? Now I am really starting to love this thing. The A7 looks too large though, I'll probably try my hand at eddie's squid mod next. Thanks for starting this kickazz thread, Fourthrok, it was my main motivation in choosing the vmod:)

Agree w you 100%... The providied atties didnt have enough oomph to suit me either. I too use 18 mg, had to use some of my leftover 24 til I got it fitted up w an rda... Now its a fog machine:)
Received a vmod a week or so ago ..
Been dialing it in, it was a bit weak with the supplied silo & with the 2.0 hybrid attys. ( 18mg nic )
so ... I cut about 1/8 inch off one of the silo carto condoms & fitted that inside the cone to tighten the draw a bit, better but still too weak.
Ordered a 1.5 hybrid atty & tried this AM - much, much better. Really not a huge difference, just enough to get a more satisfying throat hit & slightly warmer, thicker vapor.
The newer hybrid attys seem pretty well made, time will tell as to longevity.
Sure makes the device more enjoyable - for me at least.
The only fault I can relate is that I seem to have to squonk to some degree just about before every hit or it'll go dry, a minor inconvenience I suppose on a device that the battery lasts all day & the liquid for 2 or more.
To anyone desiring a bit more gusto from the vmod - try the 1.5 attys.

Agree that an rba is certainly better however with the atomizers they do need a break-in period to really shine. Just wanted to reiterate that. Not sure which of the vmod threads I posted that in. Some take a bottle or more, others get going much quicker. Just don't want new users throwing away their perfectly good atomizer without giving it a good"go"...

That's true of any pre-built atomizer. So far the 1.5 ohm hybrid is working great for me. I can't wait until it breaks in.

Though now I'm wondering if the eGo-C type B cone would fit on the VMod. I modified the base of a type A to work with my automatics, and for whatever reason I just love those eGo-C atties. They last forever.

I know,I was just covering that for the new vmod owner which may be using an atomizer for the very first time and most likely won't read back at all and just the most recent posts...
