Dave, I'm riding a Goldwing right now, but I've had all kinds of bikes. BMW F650GS, BMW R1150GS, Triumph Sprint, Buell S3 Thunderbolt, Sportster, etc. I even had a Suzuki Burgman scooter for a while, which was much more fun than some bikes I've owned.

Are you up for a road trip?

I have no affiliation with those bikes or their sellers. Just FYI.

I wish! Bikes certainly are cheaper when you look outside the greater SF Bay Area.

Blix, is that an Igo on top of that Super-T mod? Looks like they were made for each other.

Thank you B. I never carry just the Vamo so hell if I know. But about half of a 18650... :) I usually just use it with a 18650 at work, but I don't like the size with it, it's HUGE... :)

I carried the VAMO to work one day and all the ladies were starring! I wasn't too happy, though - you know....

...PV envy...

Do the ceramic wicks work with 100%VG?

I have plenty of silica wick for now, but 430ft of hemp twine will be here tomorrow. I've read that it wicks 100%VG very well.

Do you guys prefer Kanthal or NiChrome for coils? I just had success with 32g Kanthal and I'm considering a bulk purchase in the future. I don't understand the difference other than some fears of NiChrome. I don't plan on buying 5 foot pieces for 2-3 bucks again, I'm thinking 10ft per $.

Congrats, not all that hard, is it?

I didn't think it would be, but I was having multimeter issues which are all fixed now. I have 4.5 feet of 32g kanthal and about 5ft of 28g Kanthal (which will be challenging for me as I like 2-2.5 ohm coils). I'm trying to figure out if I should try NiChrome first or just get a bunch of 32g Kanthal. There's a guy on Amazon selling 250ft for $26.55 shipped, 500ft and 1000ft are even cheaper per foot(1000ft for $62.58).

Vendors are making easy money charging $3 for 5ft.

The vast majority of rebuilders use Kanthal. I've used both and do not like NiChrome. Tastes funny and I haven't got the right gauge to control the resistance. Most people use A-1, 32 gauge Kanthal (though there are those who use 28 ga for low resistance rebuildables).

I have been vaping the channeled ceramic wick from DV in an RSST. It wicks unbelievably. One of the best vapes I have experienced. Anyone else using these ?

Hey I got 3 of them wicks at home. Did you do anything to them before using them? I actually was gonna set one up tonight. Just got my RSST's and those wicks fit perfectly. Did you boil them first?

I've read that about NiChrome, being funny tasting that is. 430ft of 1mm hemp twine is showing up tomorrow($9.49). Silica wicks 100% VG adequately so far, but I've read that hemp is better. I don't mind not being able to dry burn with the wick in place, for the price of hemp I can just toss it. If I like the twine, 250ft of 32g A1 Kanthal is next on my list. I'll still use cartos when I'm on the go, but RBAs are where it's at for home vaping. I don't want to think about ordering wick and wire again for a year or two.

One or 2 more tough RBAs and all that will be regularly ordered is juice and the occasional battery. I'm trying to lock this hobby down and save my wallet, but I'm sure you've heard that story before. ;)

250' is a lifetime supply. :)

I haven't had any wicking problems using silica in my RBAs. I can't vape it fast enough to run them dry. Just my experience.

Are you vaping all VG? I've run my dry-ish now and then with 100% VG while the other end of the wicks were quite wet.

I used to do 100% VG before RBAs. I run 70/30 now. so yes, we might not be apples and apples. I know GT runs 100% VG and uses a DiD clone with ss mesh and he says he has no problems.

I just washed them.
I love them. My Zap has a non channeled ceramic wick, and it performs great. But the wicking on the ones from DV is better. I will probably switch out the stock wick on tha Zap with a new one this weekend.
