Yeah, the beauty of micros is that you can go with a low gauge and get a resistance that is a lot higher that any traditional coil with the same wire. A 2 ohm 28g micro should give a better vape than a 2 ohm 32g.

I'm guessing this is due to more coil surface area in contact with the wick?

Digital calipers next on the pick-up list. It seems like it's a requirement if I'm going to continue doing this stuff.

I did sign up for the Microcoils thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/rebuildable-atomizer-systems/416271-micro-coils-increase-vapor-flavor-th.html where I found our usual suspects from the Natural Tobacco thread (Jerms, Johni, etc..) and the concensus was that I used too large a wrapping element to build my first coil.

The coil itself is good, and amounts to the right ohms for it's size. I just have to use a smaller screwdriver or drill bit to wrap the coils.

I've got 1/16 and 5/64 drill bits at my disposal and will attempt to coil on those instead.

Dust, I think you said you use a 2mm shank. I used a 1.95mm shank. With 10 wraps using 30ga I got 1.8 ohms. I'm still suspicious of your wire.

As am I. Can you please get a picture of your coil setup?

There yuh go Dust. You'll use that caliper for all sorts of things. There was a time not too long ago those cost hundreds of dollars. :)

This was $35.. So not bad at all. I've been having a heck of a time with the K-lite today. Slapped on a 5/6 wrap of "30" which gave me a 1.8 ohm on 2mm ekowool, and loaded it with Southern Gentleman. I've had to do the straw effect all day to get the juice to feed. No air bubble when I take a hit.. Freaking drama!!

Just got home, and having a late lunch. Will measure shortly. Thought I read on the K-lite thread that somebody got a similar coil to my setup from this morning. I'm VERY curious to see what it pans out too..

And, the verdict is... drum roll please!

That's the same thickness of the 32 gauge that I have. This one was supposed to be .254mm thick.

As a result of this boo-boo, I now have almost 300' of 32 gauge wire and 0' of 30 gauge.:facepalm:

That's who this came from.. I've already sent Sean a message. I'm sure it was just a mistake. It's not free shipping for Canada, btw..

Yeah and that's kind of a bummer cause if you got to ship it back it'll cost ya. Maybe he will just send you a replacement roll and save you the shipping. I am wondering if I should check my wire I just got from them.
