I agree on the Provari maintenance...when I ordered my first I went on Amazon and got the 99% alcohol and a package of really long qtips. It was pretty cheap...and makes the cleaning very easy. Have I told you all lately how much I love my KFL's..they seriously are so easy to work with. I do need to improve on my micro coil builds, but that will come with time. Mine work great..but they are not very pretty..

Okay, so my first build on a coil was my standard 3/32" micro coil in the horizontal configuration like PB shows in his video. Then I found this in the Russian 91% thread.

Chimney Micro Coil Build In A Kayfun Lite - YouTube

The chimney micro coil.

Flavor is nicer. I loved my flavor with the horizontal configuration, but this is noticeably more flavorful. I don't know if any of you guys have tried it, but I suggest you do if you haven't. A really nice vape with pretty much the same throat hit and vapor production, but improved taste. If you try it, let me know what you think!

I guess it goes without saying I am a fan of the KFL.

That build style is hot on the KFL thread too.

Lion, are you using your Provari for the KFL? What is your resistance?

I think I'm going to spring for a mech in the next day or two. There are lots of choices that I'm sure are equal. I'm not going to break the bank to get one. I know a bunch of people who are happy with their Neme clones including Slim. So I'll probably go for it.

JW....nice!!!!! Let us know how you built it and how it is working for you.

Indeed Lion, InTaste is awesome.

I just did the regular horizontal 1.3 ohm micro coil with cotton wick. Same as I did my Eh pro kfl clone. It is the best vape ever

Cool! I just use a standard horizontal, 30ga., microcoil (1.8 ohms) w/silica on a Provari and it's awesome. I can't tell much of a difference between cotton and silica (my lungs are toast) but most prefer the cotton. I'm sure you will fiddle with the KF and find your optimal set up. Many like subohm with cotton. I need to get me a mech and I will try that as well. But I agree, it's the best vape I've had. I can get equal quality vape out of a $12 Phoenix RBA but the large capacity tank of the KFL is a major plus.

Does anyone have an opinion on the differences between the "Vape Royalty Two Tone Nemesis Mod by HCigar" and the "Two Tone Nemesis Mod" other than they are $4 apart in price?

Oops, here is the link. http://www.vaperoyalty.com/nemesis-mod/

I got the vr 2 tone and my buddy got the regular one. Can't see any difference what so ever.

With the micro coils I don't really see the need for sub ohm. I can get just as much vape and throat hit from a 1.3 micro coil and a little bit longer battery life.

I might try that vertical coil but as of now I can make a coil set up on my kfl in about 5 minutes, so I'll need to hear some people tell me that the vertical is worth the extra effort... Even though it's probably minimal

Well now, see? That's what I am thinking. How much better can the vape be on a subohm using a mech than my 1+ohm on a Provari? I'm thinking the only advantage would be the subohm is a little quicker to vaporize. But all other qualities would be pretty much the same...TH, vapor, flavor, etc.. I have to admit, I'm a bit weary of those who claim their build is significantly better than other builds. Marginally? Perhaps. But if the vape I'm getting off my 1.8ohm microcoil gets any better I will have an orgasm that will give me a heart attack. I mean, how many different ways can a KFL be built? Are they really that different in quality? Hmmmmm.....:)

Current micro coil on the chimney is a 30 gauge, 7/8 coil (on 3/32" bit) which ohms out at 2.0. It is perched on my ProVari, and I have it running at 4.9 volts, which is right on 12 Watts. Exceptional flavor. You kind of need some height to make this chimney work I think. Normally I like my ohms a bit lower, but this is great. Since I am wrapping cotton around the coil, I could drop the diameter of the drill bit I wrap with. But, that also would reduce the surface area of the coil and the diameter air flow channel...so I don't know if it is a good idea or not...

I will continue to experiment, and report here, Excellency.

My (admittedly limited) experiments with sub-ohm indicated the following, sir:

1) more vapor, no doubt about it, and slightly elevated throat hit.
2) less flavor, fewer tones to the flavor.

My experience with micro coils led me to embrace micro coiling over sub-ohm without hesitation.
