No idea why they need two springs either. But they do. Never drop that little pin unless you're under the age of 30 and do not require spectacles. :)

Thanks Slim and JW! :)

Hey Bronze. The smaller spring is there to support the tiny brass pin to keep it from falling through its seat after repetitive use. The pin is there to keep the switch housing from spinning on its axis all while maintaining a constant connection to the mod. Keep in mind, the larger spring should sit uniformly inside its channel when compressed. If that spring is distorted in any way, it can catch the lip of that channel and cause sticking. Always make sure the negative contact is tightly secured all the way down. It is not meant to be adjustable to shorten the throw. There is a longer negative contact available from Atmomixani that can shorten button throw.

Have you tried cotton yarn? I have bad experience with cotton balls in kayfuns but not in drippers. Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk
I haven't tried yarn yet , I will experiment with it at some point I'm sure but right now I'm kinda thinking if it ain't broke don't fix it , good results with the silica and boiling and hanging cotton will get my wife asking questions I don't feel like answering .

Was the cotton saturated fully first? And no, it hasn't yet. :-(
I soaked it Leo it helps with positioning too when it's wet, same thing with silica but more juice on the cotton I wanted to make sure it didn't burn . I'm convinced it's something in the cotton I'm using .

Leo I'd be fuming mad if I hadn't received my KFC yet , could the weather be holding up the mail where you are ? The wife and I ordered some things from amazon thursday of last week and I got an email on saturday saying delivery could be delayed due to bad weather across the country . Turns out though everything was delivered on time or ahead of time from Fedex , UPS & the USPS go figure .

Hey MP, what did you say your set up was for your mech? I think I'm very close to yours. I went subohm but it's just too hot for me. Now I am going with 28ga, 2.0mm ID, 10 wraps at 1.5 ohms and I like it a whole lot more. Sort of defeated the purpose of why I went with the mech (to go subohm) but it's where I like it the most.

Bronze. I used a smaller screwdriver this last time on both kayfuns. 7 ish wraps and the twine barely fit thru.. Next size down from 2mm in a driver set. 1.4?
I've settled on 1.4-1.6 ohms. It's not hot, it always feeds well with multiple chain vapes..
I've got 300 feet of assorted kanthal coming tomorrow or Thursday so I'll mess around finally with micros and maybe even higher ohms with the hana.

And I really don't believe it defeats the purpose. Mechs Don't have to be sub ohms. That bs is just that. Bs..

Well the mechs are perfectly fine for ohmplus. But a regulated mod can do them at ohmplus just as well or better because they deliver repeatable power levels. I got the mech because I wanted to try subohm and a regulated mod cannot do it consistently. I'm able to get comfortable vapes on the mech too at 1.5 ohms even while chaining. It's about 8 watts lower versus 0.9 ohms.

I measured my microdrivers (straightedge). The next size smaller than the 1.96mm is 1.36mm. You'e about right.

I went subohm but it's just too hot for me.

    Two words: dual coil

I'll agree that sub ohm with a single coil is pretty rough.. even with all the surface area of a micro coil, that's a ton of heat for a little bit of wire... but sub-ohming a dual coil? That's a whole different story. The vape goes from 'twice as hot' to 'twice as much'.... very dense vapor without a ton of heat.

The only sub ohm single coil that I could stand was in a RSST and it was only .8/.9, but gennies are a bit different and the heat tends to get mitigated... in an RDA, a single coil S-O is pretty hard core. I have a dual coil Chimbus at .65 or so and it's a great vape.

Does anyone know what size the post screws are on the kayfun , the screwheads are really small on this clone , if I know what size they are I should be able to find a replacement with a larger head .

I would be curious to know what they are too. Yes the clone screws are stupid small. I almost lost one the other day. Also almost lost my pheeeel screw in the drain. Thank god for quick reflexes.

Thank you for your order. FastTech puts quick shipment and prompt service. Your FastTech order xxxxxxx is going to be shipped within 12 hours.

To speed up processing of your shipment, the following products (SKUs) will be shipped in a separate package:

xxxxxxx (My KFL Clone of course)

Products are typically shipped in a separate package because of one or more of the following reasons:

    - Some items was displayed as "ships in X days" when ordering and thus they cannot be shipped promptly
    - Some of the items were rejected during pre-shipment QC check, and we're acquiring new supplies from suppliers
    - The items' distributors have missed their supply schedule and thus we did not have enough stock to fulfill your order

You can expect your second package to ship within a few days, and all of your packages will ship using the same shipping service you have chosen during checkout. We'll also e-mail shipment notifications to you as each of your packages ship. Please let us know if you have questions about this arrangement. Thank you.

Another reason why I don't use slow tech lol. Why don't you just buy at another site neo.
Because stateside vendors are charging a 200% markup Daniel , the same Kayfun clone I got from Fasttech for 21$ is being sold by vendors and resellers for 60 - 70 dollars in the states and I'll be damned if I'll hand over my money to them for lack of patience , Fasttech also has a six month return for replacement warranty , the bloodsuckers here very rarely warranty an RBA .

Okay true, there are positive and negative things on both sides
That warranty is important Daniel, you have to realise that 99% of vaping gear is manufactured in China including your vamo your protanks and your inferno , Chinese quality control is hit or miss , unless you want to shell out money for a Provari or a genuine Kayfun your going to be using Chinese made vape gear for the most part there are a few other exceptions but those 2 top the list . I prefer hedging my bet with a warranty and waiting for my gear .
