Why adjustable center pins aren't universally used, is beyond me. mods all have different pin heights it seems, so the tank that sits flush on one, suits precariously on a few 510 threads on another.

Especially on a top heavy unit like a Protank....

That's one of the things I like about my RSST... I adjusted it so it'll seat nice and tight with my K100 and make good contact. Unlike my evods, where I always thought 'did I screw that down too much?' on my Vamo.

You have to boil it first?!

That's what I was told from the guy I bought it from but I haven't used any of it yet.

Yesterday I wrapped my first micro coil. About 10/11 wrap of 30g kanthal came out just under 2ohms and man this thing make clouds in the Kayfun

I boil my cotton wick first. For 15 minutes. Then let it air dry.

I have a cotton ball wick going in the Kayfun now and at first I had a cottony taste. I wonder if I boil it I can take that away. Yarn I don't boil and that is fine.

You absolutely MUST boil Ekowool brfore you use it. It has a very funky taste otherwise. I boiled mine in bulk twice and let it hang dry. All good. If you torch Eko, it stiffens it, making it easier to wrap or place over cable wicks. Torching is a good practice too, but boiling is necessary.

Same problem with Kanger's T2's that goes back a long ways. Don't know why Kanger cannot correct that problem.

The issue is with the atty heads. The positive end is about 1/2-1mm too short. You could shave down about 1/2mm from the 510 threads on the base to get a more permanent fix with existing units. I don't know why Kanger hasn't addressed it. Todd has mentioned it. I've experienced it. My new vaper friends come crying to me asking me why their Protank reads 0.2ohms on the Vamo. I just take the head out, pull the positive pin a tiny bit outward, and put it back together. All good. Annoying to say the least.

I've got micro coils with cotton-hemp yarn in all my Kayfuns now. Beautiful vape with no floods or dry hits. I'm doing the build that was posted a page back. Instead of joining two pieces of wick, I make a micro coil and pull a folded piece of yarn through. After that, I trim two of the four opposing strands close to the coil so it ends up like the video. The rest I follow to a tee. Flawless, fail-safe build.

I just finished torching a 3mm section of Ekowool and am in the process of doing a simple coil (maybe 4/5 wrap of 32) on the RSST. It was a bit of a pain to get the 3mm to fit in the RSST (had to take it apart and shove it/coax the wick from the inside out). Let ya know how it turns out.

It can't hurt it. My guess is you're not tasting the cotton but whatever impurities might be in there. Some cotton products contain stuff in it you don't want to vape.

Just received the 2mm and 3mm ekowool last week with the 32 (masquerading as 30) wire. It had a sticker to either torch or wash before use. I've been torching. I "think" I detect a slight taste from it, but it's not offensive. Will try boiling as well.

XFoo, how do you prevent the ekowool from unraveling when boiling? I noticed that it starts to fray almost immediately upon cutting. Torching ofcourse stiffens it up, but do you torch first, and then boil? What's the process?

The 3mm torched seems to be working fine on the RSST right now although it does seem to need more heat to fire it and make clouds. Not sure if that's just due to the thickness of the wick under the coil. I think I'll leave the 3mm for the Drippers and use 2mm on the RSST's and AGA-T+

I boil all the Eko at once. Tie off the end with a bit of kanthal so it doesn't unravel. You don't need to torch the Eko until you plan on using it, and sometimes it's better not to if you want it to stay supple (like in a Kayfun). As for using it as a diaper over cable wicks, torch it before you slip it over the wick. Use a longer length than you need because the shorter you cut the Eko, the greater the tendency it has to unravel. use this method:

Not the wick. But I torch the coil just to take the springiness out of it. Then again when I'm making a micro coil. I haven't used ekowool but never heard it accused of lacking flavor.

Thanks bronze, I dont know why, maybe my ekowool is not russian original, taste weired. Getting lost with my RBAs, none of them give me a flavor as good as an ordinary clearomizer such as kanger t2...

So we shouldnot torch ekowool when building kayfun, but I have already boiled my ekowool and to be frank I dont feel any change in flavor, in kayfun I still get light flavor and heavy burn plastic taste..dont know what to do now. I ordered some silica to see if there's any difference, maybe I am not an ekowool matierial.

Does seem to be a lot of work doesn't it? So far I'm not seeing it as the "unicorn" it was made out to be..

How often do you change your micro cotton coil? or you just replace the cotton and leave the coil?

I'd like to leave coils but it depends on my mood when I'm swapping cotton. So far I've swapped one kayfuns cotton and left the coil for a few weeks.
The second one has been my training so I've done the entire thing at least once a week if not more to get my coil skills up to snuff.
Yarn has been perfect for me but that's just me. Everyone has different preferences so what works for me obviously doesn't do everyone else justice.
I don't clean the yarn or boil it and its good to go immediately.
