Yee Haw!!! We got Vape mail from Cali, US. Yup, the kayfun Lite has arrived in record time, I might add.
Mrs. Chak didn't tell me about it till after dinner.

Gonna have K-fun setting it up.

Nice! I hope you have been reading and watching how-to videos! :)

Report back .. soonish!

Reduced time, basically. Over time, the battery will still charge to the full voltage, but the overall stored charge will be reduced....a 2000 mah starts acting like it's a 1600 mah....our even shorter.

Remember that it's the charger that determines the fully charged voltage, not the battery.

Well obviously I knew the cycle times would reduce but wanted to know if it still charged up to the 4.2 volts as they do when new. You answered my question. Thanks.

WooHoo!!!

Just finished running my 8th tank of DF through my KFL last night. The first two tanks were with a cotton wick. I changed to a silica wick for the next six. I rinse and dry burn after every two tanks. I'm thinking I don't need to do it that often as the coild are not gunked up that bad. The silica wick is holding up just fine. It's all unraveled but so what. It makes a fan shape and I just point it down the sides. No problemo.

Ok, is this soonish enough? I followed Andrew's video pretty much to the letter, however my coil is not exactly perpendicular to the post, it's at a slight angle. No biggy. Wrapped a 3/4 coil round 2mm three fold of silica and it's hitting around 1.5 ohms. Just right.

Filled the tank with Huntsman and she's pumping out glorious plumes of vapor and I've only got the VAMO up to 3.7v. Getting my calculated out here, that's around 9W.

What can I say about the taste? It's like vaping an entirely different juice! A warm luscious bit of heaven! I can't put this thing down, which makes typing a pita!!! ;)

This one I went through In Taste. We'll see if it ships any faster, or slower than from Ca.

WooHoo is right! Can't get enough of this. So glad I pulled the trigger on this.

Yeah... I am not sure, but I think at some point, when the cell is totally shot, it may not take a charge to the full voltage. But that happens long after the charge life has been reduced to pretty much nothing.

The battery itself has little to no control over it's 'charged' voltage. That's all on the charger. That is why crap chargers are dangerous... some aren't so meticulous about cutting out once it reads the full charge, typically around 4.18v. A wonky charger might just indicate a full charge, but keep charging fully.... so if you don't catch it right away, it might blow way past 4.2v... and here be dragons.

That effect is probablyh responsible for most of those battery explosions you read about, the ones that start out with "I was just charging my battery when..." Like that woman who had her ecig pop in her car yesterday.... I am guessing, just guessing, it was a POS car charger and it overcharged the cell (too high a current AND too high a voltage) to the point of thermal failure.

Great news Chak. An angled coil is just fine. Nothing wrong with that at all. That Kayfun has a way of bringing out the best in the flavor. Hula would be proud of you. And if it improves her beloved Huntsman, you just might get her to get a Kayfun. :)

Yeah, just might at that! Does she wrap her own coils? I find rebuilding this thing easier than ego style atty's!!! Not so many small parts for fat fingers to fumble with. ;)

We ought to have a vape meet and her place and have her try it first hand. Vape meet in Hawaii - wouldn't that be great! :D

Sigh! I could be in HI next week with a couple of the mods from ECF Chat.. Sniff! The evil queen shot the idea down! :(

Well... yeah. :) Those gennies are designed to take a ton of heat (which is good as those SS wicks aborb a lot). Those big ol' wicks might underperform if you run them at 8w. You can crank it full blast on a APV (say, 15w on stacked 18350s) and it's still got tons of headroom.

I am, by no means, an expert, but I would say that if you are going to run a gennie on an APV, I'd consider converting it into one of those microcoil tilt/drip hybrids with cotton (or silica). The SS mesh and cable rigs are probably best suited for power levels most regulated mods cut out before... Either a mech or something with a DNA20 chip (which can crank up to 20w, regulated...do want... they need to make a drop in version)

I gave that tilt/drip a whirl a little while back and it vaped great on my Vamo... then I tried it on my K100 and it took only a day to gunk up the cotton (due to the amount of juice that got pushed through it) so much I had to change it. So my RSST is back in mesh land now, but I'll throw a cotton MC on there at some point again.

I kind of like all the options I have now....

If you find a nice mod that doesn't cost an arm and a leg with the DNA20 chip post it. I'm looking at DNA20 mods also.:)

Still only in high end stuff... the chip alone is, what, $50? Chances are that anyone making a mod with that won't come cheap.

That's why I was hoping for a drop in version.

Hula is fixated on Kanger krap. :)

I don't think she wants to monkey with coils.

Well, to each their own! If she's happy replacing atty's who am I to tell her otherwise. Rebuilding does take bit of time, but once you get the hang of it, you can crank out coils in no time.

OK...just broke down and purchased a Kayfun Lite. I've heard so many good things about them and can use it on my PAPS or Zen2 tubes. I have tons of wicking material but what gauge of wire are you guys using? I like my coils 1.8-2.0.

Hey, join the party!!!
I used 32 g on mine, IG. and did a 4/3 wrap around three fold of 2mm silica wick. It came out to 1.5 ohm.

So if you add another wrap to make it 5/4 that it'll bring you up to 1.8 - 1.9ohm.

Well bronze, you had a little foreshadowing when you said I was on a vape spending moratorium....

Found out this morning that, after nearly two decades of being there, my company is letting me go at the end of the year... guess I'm glad they didn't cut me loose right there, but needless to say... I'm not going to be spending anything on vaping until I gets me a new job.

Glad I bought all that juice recently...might have to last.
