Why so long? Where did you get it from? Oh, let me guess...SlowTech. :)

Yep... ordered the Trident clone along with the KFC... got the notification of the stock issue so I had them split the order. But they still got stuck in Singapore shipping hell. I just got the Trident a couple of weeks ago, so I can only assume, based on the dates, that the KFC will be here any day now.

Kind of a pain... my first order with FT took like 10 days... but that came through HK and back before they started having problems getting things out of China. It's not FT's fault... for whatever reason, the Chinese gov is being a royal pain in the ... and making FT's life hell.

Oh well.... again, my attitude would be different if I NEEDED that KFC.

Thanks Chak!

That video is very fitting too.

Any time, Tommy. The cake & Pie came from a book I once read about a guy who needed a new identity and these two shady computer wiz guys told him, "Piece of cake, easy as pie," in unison. "Cake & Pie, Man; Cake & Pie!"

MUHAhahaha... it works ITS Alive!!

Took a 3/16Dia thin wall tube ran 3 3mm silica wicks thru it and then wrapped X turns of 30ga starting at the tube and silica "joint"
the tube keeps the silica firm at the wrapping start point and as you wrap the last wrap keeps the silica firm. Then you pull the silica from the tube a tad trim to length leaving enuf to start the next one ( used a razor blade from a utility knife)

that was a test I also have 2 other smaller dia tubes to try but my intentions are for the KFC

main intent was to see if there was an easier way to wrap silica since it is so flexible and has a tendency to "fluff" up in all of the wrong places when handled and wrapped

It doesn't matter if it unravels after it's wrapped in the KFC , it's gonna do that anyway , I just stuff it all down but thats definitely too much wick for it .

Yes, we all miss his sharp wit and knack for dodging Mods just in the nick of time. An APB was sent out on the Big Thread, but he's still MIA.

If I know him, he's probaly up to some prank or another...

Retic, are you referring to the first picture or the second? In the second one, I use longer wicks than that - they down to the deck, back up and flop over along side the coil. In the first pic, you just wrap the coil on the tube, slide it onto the silica then snip off only the amount that you need. After that just keep feeding the wick through for the next coil. Pretty good idea if you can find a thin-walled tube that's small enough.

Nope I'm referring to 3 strands of 3mm silica 9mm of wick in essence , this browser doesn't allow me to open photos , if they're not posted full size I'm screwed .

Hey everyone so with me getting my vamo tomorrow I need help understanding if vw or if vv is better. I know I will be sticking to 1.8 Ohm heads if that helps.
Vw is easier and probably best for you until you're familiar with safe voltage range for ohms , I'm not referring to anything dangerous when I say that but it's a lot easier to fry a coil or head in voltage mode , in vw mode the vamo reads the resistance and sets the voltage for you , it's a nice convenience .
