For sure, I've found a couple that will wreck a coil in 2-3 days, that hurts the wallet a bit much for me. But if I can get them to last a week I'm pretty happy.

Looking into the Ammit or Berserker to start trying my hand at rta's, looking forward to it. Any recommendations personally?
Both of those MTL RTAs got good reviews. Both are fairly easy to build but like all attys each has their own peculiarities. You will likely be served well by researching the pros and cons of each. If you’ve never built before an RDA rather than an RTA is often preferred because they are more forgiving as far as wick length goes.
It IS possible to start building on RTAs but the tolerances on RTAs are tighter and not meeting them causes leaks which causes frustration. You’ll need a certain amount of willingness to persevere and to clean up mistakes which will happen. Lessons learned with RDAs generally translate well and an RDA won’t dump 5 ml of eliquid in your pocket if you mess up so the are often preferred for beginners.

This is why squonk mods rule. All he ease and benefit of an RDA, with none of the hassles of a tank, or any need to drip. :D

I've been eyeing these. I recently tried Sadboy Custard Cookie and really like it.

What are some of the misses?

I have a bottle of the Sad Boy Cookie Custard and have vaped about half of it. It's good, but I prefer a pure custard without the cookie or bakery notes. Still like it though.

The misses (besides the Vaptasia Lemon Custard) include Mr Salt Peanut Butter Cookie which just was not appealing to me for no specific reason other than I didn't like the taste, and Ruthless Grape Drank on Ice. I really like grape vapes and the Ruthless juice was good but a bit too icy. I don't mind a very light touch of menthol but it was a powerful menthol.

I provisionally agree. They’re mainly what I use now. Squonks have their own issues too of course. They’re larger, more expensive, and more complicated, they still have the ability to leak, though from different places, and they still need to be squonked. On the whole though it’s a net win in most instances.

i kept ammit mtl rta, its the one i really love!
the only thing i have to declare is that this tanks need cleaning pretty often, mud on coils and nasty wicks arent a thing here,

I haven't tried them myself. The best I have right now is the Nautilus 2. @stols001 and @P3ch3's recommendations on the previous page definitely have me thinking about the Ammit for when I want to try building and the vape budget allows.
its a pretty interesting tank indeed, i have been enjoyning this babe this weekend with new cotton, so sweet,

well said, RDA's are the easiest way to leanr and try, i did started with RDA's , now i barely use'em, but are amazing things,

Regards,

Cthulhu 1928, Galaxies, or Digiflavor ENTA? For those that are in the know, whats your preference?

I actually have 2 of each of those in active service at the moment --- I like all three, but I'd rank the Galaxies and 1928 tied for top place, and the Etna right behind.

I've never had an Ammit. But, I'm very content with my Berserker and Berserker mini. They've had no issues, as long as I fill from the bottom [you can find out about this in other threads at great length.]

I forgot to mention these but Reds apple, iced apple, and iced watermelon are pretty darn good in salt form. I like the iced more as that kind of stuff reminds me of the eliquids I used to get when I first started vaping but the regular apple was bought by accident and I enjoyed it.

I've tried a few of the Reds Daze line-up and have found them to be damn tasty also. Same general problem with burning through coils though, again, probably just the added sweetener.

Ooh darn I'm late to this thread. @bombastinator! You are singly doing the ANTZ' work for them by continuing to spread such baseless paranoia. Freebase nic doesn't exist in nature; it's unstable and always chemically binds to something else. That's why it turns yellow over time and needs to be kept in the freezer. If you like vaping artificially separated nicotine molecules that's all well and good, but some traditionalists appreciate stable, bound nicotine of the sort found in tobacco leaves, and there's no reason to discriminate.

You spread fear, uncertainty, and doubt, while beating your chest about safety and the need for more studies, in exactly the same way the anti-vapers do. Who needs enemies when we've got friends like you? You should be ashamed of yourself.

False.
Protonated nics are not the entirety of vaping. They and pods do seem to be that for you so I can see why you would think that, but they’re not. They’re a tiny portion and they’re causing most of the problems. Problems that are affecting the entirety of vaping.

For whatever it's worth...

I had been using my old HCigar Fodi F2 RDTA (MTL device), and an old Gautlet RDA (tight draw) up until I got my first POD device. The tight draw had/has it's place in my rotation keeping away from smokes, but nicotine salt has been the real game changer for me. I still kept chain vaping on my sub-ohm gear, and have this psychological dependence on that nicotine rush (especially when waking, after meals, and when stressed). You could even call it a kind of panic, "I am going to need a fix!". I also kept backsliding because of that. Nicotine salt has filled in that spot for me, a few hits of a nicotine salt juice on a pod (or MTL tank) and then I have no need, or want, to go buy a pack.

But, yes, who knows what the long term effects of adding Benzoic acid will be? I am accepting the risk, but I am aware there is a degree of risk. I think people should be aware that vaping is not risk free, it's just, hopefully, lower risk than smoking which will surely leave most people worse off.
