It's a shame there aren't more SBS options these days. I have tall MTLs that I like like an old Rose V2. @danielpm Idk if something like this will work for you but it's a 4400mAh internal battery. eleaf Aster RT. I have one and rather like it for an internal. I would google fu or try Vapecrawler.

Hi guys :)

Signed up on this forum because I need your opinion: I can't decide between Xvostick and Union.

I want to put my Kayfun Prime in it (with SteamTuners wave ultem tank I think). Already asked on french vaping forum and on Reddit, but no answers yet. So I ask here because there are some people who own these SbS mods. Regarding Union, I don't even know if I should look at the 2.0 or the SP. I know the Xvostick better.

- Does KFP fit correctly in both?
- Do you know height from 510 connector to top of the box?
- Is StarPlat chipset good? Never had a mod with it.
- Union sleeve stay correctly in place or become loose after some time?
- Anything else I should be aware...

Thanks!

I don't think you can go wrong with either, even though I never did drop for a Union. Looked at it MANY times, but held off.

There was ONE report (here in this thread, I believe) of the Union sleeve being quite loose. Based on all the positive reviews, I have to think that was an anomaly.

I recall that it was @StealthyTX (not sure if he's still even peeking in these days), and I've tagged him here in case he wishes to share his experiences (he's had both mods).

Great guy (Stealthy). Slightly (cough) "particular" about his stuff. ;):D

Thank you for your answer.

Well, esthetically I really prefer Union (LE Carbon why not) over the Xvo, and I can use 21700 (a lot of people and modder himself on FB said that they fit even if description only mention 20700). But I'm afraid because I read a lot of negative things on an italian forum: sleeve getting loose (solved by adding some adhesive inside), fire button misclicks, chipset quickly dying, etc. for several users - I don't want to send it during 2 months in Russia to repair it. And it's not leak proof. Also absence of + - buttons, I'm not fond of that tilt thing. SP has buttons but I'm not sure if there's enough space for my KFP to avoid condensation.

Xvo seems higher quality and regarding reliability a wiser choice (albeit I don't like fire button' placement).

As we're talking about >$150 devices, I really need advices.

If that's your only gripe, I highly recommend you think harder about it. I (we) felt the exact same way.

Once received, both @Katdarling and I changed our minds (and significantly). For me, it's actually in the perfect position. Regardless of which hand you pick it up with, your ring or middle finger pretty much falls naturally onto the button.

Just one opinion, of course.

Well, not the only one, but one of the biggests for sure. I agree that I could probably change my mind once in my hand though :)

I'm an absolute (and without question) thumb firer. I was VERY concerned about the placement, but the form factor was so new at the time that I felt it was worth taking a shot. I actually thought I'd be thumb firing it, even with the funny placement.

I did too, for about a minute. Then I looked at it, and it was like a big light bulb going off in my head. Spun it around, grabbed it, and it immediately became my absolute favorite button placement in the entire industry (and I've got a mod or three).

It still is too.

I already had a lot of boxes, even SbS ones, but never with the button that low IIRC. I'm used to thumb or index.

My all-time favorite placement is the one that we have on some tube mechs, under the mod with a very short course, like the MCV Panzer for example. But only for tubes of course, would be weird with a box :D

I hope I'll have more answers this weekend :)

Good luck with your decision making process, and we'll be interested to hear (both decision and opinion).

Sure, I will. This thread is my last hope

Thanks!

I was unfamiliar with all the issues related to the Union until you posted that. To the best of my knowledge, there aren't a ton of folks displeased with their Xvo purchases.

There was a time that I may have been the loudest voice on ECF with negativity, but it had nothing to do with the mod itself. Regardless, it all worked out nicely, and this many years later (3, 4, I don't even know!), I'm still sold on the product.

If I didn't own two already I'd definitely jump in for one at $150, and if they drop colors it could still happen.

I'm not saying it will (happen), but it could.

Did I just hear @Katdarling scream at me, from across the entire country??? ;)

I have a union sp. 18650. I enjoy it, and your Kfp would be fine on it. That said, I’m waiting on my xvo. The turn around time sucks. Chels is not great at time estimates. As for the unionstick, it doesn’t really leave the house. The sleeve could use stronger magnets, but it’s not like it just falls out, but I wouldn’t go swinging it around or holding it upside down either. I wish I could tell you more about the xvo but all I know is from reading. And waiting on the order. I’ll post a side by side comparison when it gets here. Best I can do. Also feel free to pm me and ask anything you want to know about the union. Good luck.

Tell me about it. I placed my order november 21st.

I recall quite well the lengths it took for the first run. I actually considered sending a "warning" here, but decided it would be wrong to issue a negative conclusion, prematurely and without any current validity.

I'm somewhat sad to see it turned out the exact same as we experienced, but the good news is that they will deliver, and the probability is good that everyone will be pleased. At least I hope that turns out to be the case, because we're all vapers, and we all look out for each other (still).

That may change in time, as the industry grows, but it's still the case today (and that's a wonderful thing).

Rooting for all of you who purchased, we are, and that's rock solid.
