Similar Question/Inquiry on another SBS I am interested in: the TEK Horizon....
Anyone have any Intel on whether the Horizon will accept the following without issue:
1. Taifun GT IV (not the IV "S"-23mm) with 2 knurled Rings on it's Base that are ever so slightly larger Dia. than the overall 25mm?
2. kayfun v5 squared with similar slightly larger Dia. Base protrusion?

Actually think prefer (for my own subjective desires) the TEK Horizon over the Dani SBS.

Any Input greatly apprec.

Tux MIXX hit the Gates of Ft. vape yesterday. Will put it thru full Combat Drills & Paces this afternoon but curiosity did force me to check-out and snap the following Fitment Tests soon as unboxed (in case anyone else wondering and/or for Ref regarding tank Size Accomodations).

Just started noticing side-by-sides a few months ago and just found this thread.

Is there an accepted best place for the trigger button? As an industrial designer I would expect this to be a critically important factor. In practice is it?

There's so many of these available I'm having trouble picking one to buy. Why is it that American retailers don't appear to carry any of them?

Button placement is a very personal issue. For me, I want it low and center, like the Xvo, Warlock, etc.. This placement allows me to pick it up with either hand, and I can be assured it's ready to fire. I don't like having to search for the button or anything.

Initially that was a concern of mine, while we waited for the first Xvos to come off the line (2015'ish?). Once I got it, I fell in love with it. Using it showed me the genius of the design, but I had serious doubts going in.

"One man's trash..." as they say.

I agree with HRH @DPLongo22 above, the button placement will either work for you, or it won't.

With the Mixx, it's perfect for me to middle finger fire.

Element Vape have the Mixx in stock, including the new frosted colours:

Hadn't seen the the XVO before. I gather you trigger with your thumb? Do most people do this or do most use their index finger on the other side of the mod?

From a quick search it looks like the XVO is discontinued. Is someone still selling them?

As a rule I thumb-fire, which is why I was so concerned about the Xvos. With that though, similar to what @AngeNZ said, it's middle or ring finger. Either/both work, and it depends on how I grab the mod.

MINI still makes the Xvo but I just can't recommend going through what they put folks through. The waits are ridiculous, and they ALWAYS fail with their initial projections. Back then it was one-of-a-kind, but now there are SbS mods at every corner, so there's no reason to put up with MINI's bullspit.

Ring and/or Badfinger Fire for me (Forefinger on Std Top-Button Mods). Like the BackBone in my Thumb-Web and Pinky supporting from underneath.

After using the MIXX all day today I gotta give it a BIG Ft. Vape Salute and
Really Dig it all around. May find a subjective "Con" later but don't see it happenin.
Maybe like it a tad better if made a larger 21700 version is all.
Gen. Betterhalf feels and shares the same Assessment (and engaged mine "By mistake" a few times when set between us)... So much so, she issued Procurement Orders for her own personal Weapon (in Jet Black). Of course, being the Good Soldier and obedient XO I am, I complied with Requisition Ordering post-haste :thumb:

Thanks for the explanation and warning. It's really sad when someone innovates but can't properly commercialize their invention and then must watch as others take their place.

With the way mods come and go so quickly that the units we buy are basically prototypes I think I'm going to wait for the coming Dicodes SBS. As companies go they aren't fast but they do what they say they're going to do and their well made products always work.

No need to wait for the Dicodes. Creme de Vape in the UK has them in stock, and with DHL shipping it's a 2 day (maybe 3 since you're on the island) wait. And even with that quick shipping, they're still going to be cheaper than any source in North America - and really are a authorized Dicodes dealer.

As for the XVO, I agree totally with Mr. Longo. It's a trend, I think. :D In my case, I just pick up the mod and sort of squeeze. One of my fingers will then push the button. I'm a big fan of front fire for SBS.

Has anyone tested the Paramour ? It seems a very interesting mod, quite cheap, accepting 25 mm atties with 21700 batteries and still very compact.
But I haven't read any return regarding the quality of the chipset, in TC for example it's not clear if you can set wattage or not, or just if TC is good.
Thanks to all and be safe for the end of the year.

Not yet but it looks good - top of my list right now.

It seems to be good times for affordable, well designed sbs mods. This world only opened up to me recently but I'm a convert (like a BB without the doors and without the mess). So far I only own a Mixx and a Supbox but plan to expand. This thread a very bad influence.

Agreed ! I owe some old stuff (Kanger Juppi, Eleaf Aster RT and even a Knight V2 that I stupidly sold) but i'm looking for a new one.
But as one of my criterias is a good TC mode, none of the affordable recent SBS mods is good for me !
I still hope Joyetech or Wismec will do one, with Arcticfox possibility.
Sadly Santa forgot my wish this year
