Just started noticing side-by-sides a few months ago and just found this thread.

Is there an accepted best place for the trigger button? As an industrial designer I would expect this to be a critically important factor. In practice is it?

There's so many of these available I'm having trouble picking one to buy. Why is it that American retailers don't appear to carry any of them?
For me, it is the distance from the fire button down to the bottom of the mod that is most important.
As on the Aspire Mixx, I find it very comfortable with the middle finger, ergonomically I think it is a fantastic mod.
I have bought 3 Mixxers, that said, without temperature control it will be with the three.
Although I have not vaped for a long time, I have become a Dicodes fan.

And I really prefer Arcticfox over Dna chipsets as all settings can be done on the mod, no need to connect a computer as to set Escribe.

For me and others, you hook up the DNA once to EScribe and configure it the way you like it and that is it. Then mod never sees EScribe again.

You change the resistance value? If so, why?

I only change the resistance value when I am using TC and putting on a hot coil and I know what the cold resistance is for that coil.

Old factory coils gets gunked up which means the juice doesn't get as hot as it used to. Thus it needs more heat to get the juice back up to temperature. Which means more power or in TC, turn up the temperature.

"Middle Finger" is a tad subjective and possibly Offensive...
What if ya missing a Forefinger?
What if ya missing TWO Fingers?
See what I mean.... :(
It could get way outa hand REAL quick I tell ya what....

Bad-Finger is the Kindler, Gentler AND least possibly Offensive, Insensitive, or Incorrect Terminology.

Yep; BADfinger....
It's the Right thing to do and jes Think of the CHILDREN for goodness sake

if i only knew they'd bring ultem and Polycarbonate versions
they look great and surely lighter since the metal Mixx is quit a havy one.

If it makes you feel better, despite owning 4 Mixxes already, I ordered no.5 in smoke frosted

Paramour with a Dvarw DL FL...
    Paramour.jpg

Mixx (Dvarw MTL FL) and Paramour...
    Paramour + Mixx.jpg

With an 18650 in each. The Paramour is just as comfy to use as the Mixx.
Would I buy another Paramour? Why yes, I most certainly would. :D

Anyone have much info on the Rebel Mods version of a SBS? Its a 21700 and the site says it can fit a 25mm atty. Ive seen videos on youtube on past mods by Rebel and that the doors and 510's are not the best quality.

The price is pretty high on this. 199 pounds for the Ally Black. A couple cool things I like is that you can get different color doors and buttons. And I really like where the button is placed. Kinda like a billet box.

Aluminium body? I love that about the Mixx.
The Paramour is made from 304 stainless steel and aluminum.

I weighed each with an 18650...
    188.09 grams = Aspire Mixx
    147.28 grams = Paramour

The Aspire Mixx is more solidly built as the main body of it is CNC machined out of a solid block of aluminum.

Nice pics, thanks ! I thought the Paramour would be bigger, but it's quite compact for a 21700.
Could someone tell me if wattage can be set in TC mode ?
And has some of you lucky owners, tested the TC mode ?
    Thanks to all.
Wattage can be set in TC mode. Pressing the Fire button 2x gets you there. That is not in the manual. I figured it out by playing with it.

3 clicks of the Fire button gets you to the settings menu where you can choose WATT, VOLT, TEMP or BYPASS.

In TC mode you can select from SS, NI, TI or TCR.

The Paramour basic TC mode is very poor when compared to any of my DNA or Arctic Fox'ed mods. When using the same settings on a DNA mod the Paramour throttles down to weak wattages super quickly, near instantaneous. I found that raising the Temp to 520°F presented a much more pleasing vape in TC. But I don't think that's the answer.

Initial testing was done with a Dvarw MTL FL at 24w and 420°F.

With a Dvarw DL FL at higher wattages (28w - 36w) forget about the basic TC mode on the Paramour. In fact forget about basic TC mode altogether and set the device to TCR. In the default TCR mode I immediately got a TC vape that I am much more familiar with.

Weird thing, the Paramour default TCR setting was 6190. I was not expecting that at all. @BillW50 IIRC correctly you vape TC with your DNA mods, can you shed some light - maybe/hopefully? Perhaps? Any thoughts? Thanks.

The TCR range on the Paramour goes from 0500 - 8000. Huh? o_O

At 0500 I got a very weak pee poor vape.
At 1000 it's better but not where it should be.
At 1250 it is much better and more in line with what I get from a DNA device or a mod running Arctic Fox.

I will continue tweaking the TCR value for my tastes. In the end that is what you will have to do if you want to run the Paramour in TC mode and get a decent vape.

In the meantime, I am planning on contacting Mechlyfe to see what info they can offer on the Paramour TCR settings. Also asking why the basic TEMP SS mode is so "weak".

    Hope that helps. :)

    Great info thanks.

You may have posted this before SMT but for those who haven't seen it here's a really interesting vid about the Aspire CNC process during manufacture of the Mixx
