Looking for my first PV Kit

I have been looking around the forum for about a week and online for a month or so, trying to narrow down my search for my very first e-cigarette.

What I do know is that I do want a 2 piece automatic e-cig. I want it to be durable, reliable, and of normal/long cigarette lenghth. I have looked at Green Smoke, V2's, Blu, Volt, Ever Smoke, Vapor Couture, Vapor4life, and Modern Vapor. I wish all of these companies would use one standardized thread!...I like some features, colors, flavors, etc....but they are not all in one place and in one kit. I am very girly, if I had my choice...just for looks alone I would go with Vapor Couture....But I feel if I get that one I am going to have a hard time finding compatible parts elsewhere. I do know I do plan on refilling any carto's I get with other flavors. I am trying to quit smoking afterall! But I have always enjoyed it. So I am going to quit analogs and taper myself off nicotine to 0!

So any help would be greatly appreciated! I am hoping to come up with some good pro's and the con's on any of these cigarettes to help me narrow my search further!

Thank you!:p

Hi

Let's try it this way: Can you be a bit more specific about your want list? What you saw that you like in those kits? The only thing I gleaned from your post is you want a 2 piece carto system. Are you stuck on the "must look like a cigarette" size issue? Does it need to be a particular color and what color(s)? Where will the biggest chunk of your vaping time be spent - a largely stationary type of job where you can or cannot vape at your desk, at home, a job where you are out and about all day? Stuff like that. (What you may want or need with ready access to a charger is one thing. Being in a job or situation where you are traveling all day may require a compromise on your choice of e-cig size or different charging options.)

Depending on your wish list it might not be possible to have it all at only one site. We'll see what we can come up with depending on your wish list.

I'm a noob to vaping also, Jobisma.

I did buy V2 + Greensmoke starter kits and have vaped exclusively, I have not smoked tobacco since August. Out of those 2 kits I prefer the Greensmoke if you want to buy prefilled carts. Better vapor, stronger flavors.

That said, 2 weeks in and I feel the hits (drags) aren't enough for me. So I ordered the Ego Twist (1000 Mah) with about 120 Ml of ejuice. I'll report on that device after I get it and use it awhile.

Thanks for responding...ah my wish list. You can probably see why my husband gets so frustrated with me. LOL! Yes, I am absolutely stuck on cigarette size issue for a starter. It really has to be automatic!!!! I would prefer the longer version I think as well rather than the shorter just for the length of the battery. I would also prefer the battery to be a sealed automatic.

I mentioned I am girly...I fell in love with the Vapor Couture blinged out look they offered, but like I said, I don't think it will be easy to find compatible parts. So what I want is a battery and carto that match if possible....something a bit more feminine. Colors I prefer are Purple, Pink, Blue, Black, and Silver. I would also like to know which method of re-filling really works best...using a syringe, dripping or the condom method. Would seriously appreciate some input on that as well. While I am a stay at home wife, I also am the caregiver to my mother who has several medical issues since 2003. I really do enjoy smoking...but I have to quit analogs! So I am going this route and tapering to 0 nicotine. I currently smoke about 1.5 pack Marlboro lights a day. In times of stress I do tend to smoke more. Lately I have had a bit more stress in my life.

As for the types of chargers I would need...I definitely need a wall charger. If I am at my Mothers...she does not have a computer...so I would need to use it there. A usb charger would work for my home, I could use a car charger for my car, a portable charger would be nice as well. I am really open to charger options beyond the necessity of the wall charger. So, I hope this will help with some advice in aiding me in making the right choice. Thanks!

Logdeath,

Thanks for your input on the V2 and Greensmoke. I think I am going to probably either end up buying blank carto's for whatever kit I get or just refill the ones I get. I have seen too many yummy flavors I can't wait to try!

Good luck to you on your Ego twist...I hope it works better for you and you are happy with it. I have read plenty of good things about it so far.

Most of the brands you describe are an 808 threaded cartomizer and 808 cartomizes are widely available from a number of vendors in both pre-filled and blanks. Of the brands you mention, I'd go with either the Volt or Vapor for Life.

Both Green Smoke and Blu have bad reputations here for the following reasons: 1. over priced 2. lack durability 3. poor performance and 4. scam like business practices.

I don't own a Volt but have used a friend's of mine and I was very impressed. She also wanted the cig sized and so far 7 of her co workers have also purchased the Volt and are analog free and very happy with their purchase. SI has a very loyal following and possibly the best customer service in the industry.
Cheers and Good Luck.

I had a look at vapor couture for you. It appears to me you are more concerned about the look of the device than performance. That being said I'm not judging you here, but their gimmicky girly line there seems over priced.

They also do not offer manual batteries. You do not want an automatic battery. Those are notoriously inconsistent and can be easily damaged.

Vapor for life sells it's batteries in a variety of colors and they at least used to have batteries with those jeweled looking tips. They also have a number of more "fashion" type batteries that might appeal to women and they carry a compatible 808 line of cartos and batteries (meaning that there are a variety of accessories etc from other vendors).

I stand by the original recommendation for the Volt from smokeless image or vapor for life.

Hope this helps.

I'm pretty new at this (about 5 weeks new) but I started with a Volt. This is a husband and wife team thing and we were both heavy smokers for 40 years. The Volt has worked remarkably well. I quit smoking in 2 days and my wife in about a week. What I like is that the Volt has been extremely easy. For Ms. G, she has several colors of batteries with bling diamond end caps...matches her outfits to her vaping supplies...all very coordinated and accessorized. I'm not saying that I won't branch out, and the whole 510 vs 808 thing confuses the heck out of me, but for now it's working great for both of us. I think that Ms. G is happy with hers, while I'm always looking for the next new thing to buy (maybe it's a guy thing). She looks at colors, I look at function.

Vape_nerd....I so agree with you on Vapor Couture's costliness, but they really are very adorable. That being said, time to get serious. I actually did look at the v4life cigs with the jewels....they are very nice and would be considered more girly. I still think I want an automatic battery though. I have carpal tunnel, and arthritis and the idea of pushing a button every time I want to smoke doesn't seem natural to me. Thanks for your imput. I really do appreciate your input on blu and greensmoke. I had thought they were good brands, but I am discovering they seem to be so-so and over priced.

Vapoor eyes er,

Thanks for your input on the volt. I am glad you left the links for me to check out as well. They do have some very pretty colors. I have read very positive things about this model so far. One thing I really liked was that they do sell a syringe kit to refill the carto's at that site. So if I get that kit I will be able to get everything all in one place.

I thought I would like an auto...but I started with one of each. I don't have arthritis but I am getting older. I found that I like the manual so much better...it just draws more naturally, like a cig. The button is not a problem at all, but all of the huffing and puffing with the auto is just a pain. Just my 2 cents.

Grimwald,

I am hearing good things about volt. I am so happy it has worked for both you and Mrs. G. I am just as confused by 510 vs 808 etc....I just want a simple assembly. I understand the fashion need of Mrs G. with her e-cig....don't show her vapor couture web sire. Those are not compatible with practically anything, but they sure are pretty. I have decided to keep an open mind for a couple more days, But I so appreciate everyones input!

You're very welcome.
Yes BUT the only extra you might want to buy is an atomizer "if" you're buying new juices and filling your own cartomizers. Reason being you'll find lots of juices you absolutely hate and it's near impossible to clean out a cartomizer whereas with an atty very quick and simple to clean. I would also suggest you buy sample packs of juices. When I first began I bought 30 samples and I only liked 15 of them. Next I ordered 25 samples and liked 15 of those...if I had bought 30 ml bottles I would've wasted quite a bit of dough and it would've been frustrating.

"I have decided to keep an open mind for a couple more days"
A very wise decision. I researched for 200+ hrs before finally buying my first PV.

Maybe I will get one of each myself to see if I do really like the auto best. I just know the battery has to be sealed. That is really important.

I was already searching for flavors. I found buttermint....I love buttermints! They are so rich, decadent, and melt in your mouth...yummo. I am looking for a fabulous chocolate too if anyone knows of one! I planned on buying the smallest or sample bottles to start with and not a lot at first. You are so sweet for the best wishes for both me and my Mom...Bless you too!

LOLLLL good for you. Just realize the same flavors (example: buttermint) will vary greatly from vendor to vendor as they all have different recipes and suppliers for the ingredients.
