Looking for New RTA - Tired of Seeping Kayfun 5

I own 3 authentic kayfun 5 and love everything about them except that they all seep juice from the air vents after a day or two. Over the past 2 years I've tried every suggestion offered in the K5 threads, and then some, and I'm done. At best, with a good JFC o-ring, I can get 1-2 days before they start to seep. Not looking for suggestions to solve this- been there. Done that. (PM me if you think you have an idea I haven't tried.) Also not interested in replies saying "My K5 never leaks". Goody for you!

I'm ready to try a new MTL tank, and looking for suggestions. I would love to hear from other former K5 users who've found something they like.

I don't like a really tight draw- I have AFC on my K5s wide open.

Just started looking. Digiflavor Siren v2 and Innokin Ares interest me.

Used to have 2 Kayfun 5s in rotation (DL, afc wide open). The Savour MTL RTA, with the bigger airflow in, bumped one of them out. Restriction is about the same. Maybe a little more restricted, but nothing I really noticed/was bothered by. I basically think of it as a better k5. All the youtube reviewers, from GimmGreen to the Vaping Biker have reviewed it and liked it. Never got the traction it deserved though. Don't know why, but take a look at the reviews and see if it fits your style.

anything with top airflow like the obs engine v2 /engine nano (single coil) and geek vape zeus, themis rta etc etc..

Have you considered the Coppervape Skyline clone, wide range of airflow options and beats my authentic Kayfun for flavour hands down.

My vote is for the SJMY doggystyle RTA. Awesome airflow, never leaks and fantastic flavour.

Haven't tried the innokin Ares yet however

Dumped my k5's for the same reason. The squape e-motion is great as is the skyline. The taifun GT 2 is excellent as well.
Personally, I think the hurricane v1.3 is as good as it's going to get. Leak free, easy build and great flavor.

All of my suggestions are adjustable to a slightly restricted dtl . None are suitable for proper mtl without buying reducers.

Have you seen the Manta MTL? I would also suggest the Mage V2 that can be built single coil and those tiny holes somewhat control seeping some. Another I would suggest is the Wotofo Serpent SMM, the airflow is not so wide, seepage is more controlled.

Vaped it. It's a true MTL, restricted. The Manta MTL is more a restricted lung hit atty.

Yes, I wasn't sure. The Serpent SMM has side airflow, more leak resistant

The KF5 is a true MTL tank as well, even when it's wide open. The Serpent SMM, Manta MTL, Engine, Zeus and Themis are true DL atties though, without even being capable of a decent MTL, because they're way too airy.

K5 wide open is very far from a true mtl tank. It's not even a true mtl tank closed down. That's why they had to design and offer af reducers. Those helped .

Fine and dandy, but I'm a MTL guy who likes the K5 wide open. Looking for a non-seepy alternative with a similar draw.

Would Hurricane v2 work?

I think the hurricane v1.3 is as good as it's going to get. Leak free, easy build and great flavor.

Hurricane v1.3 is no longer available. Anyone know if Hurricane v2 can do an airy MTL?

V2's have more leaking problems. They're good but not as easy. They have interchangeable deck inserts from big air to medium to small. V1.3 is better, imo. They come up fairly regularly second hand.

Could be....but when one says something is a "true mtl atty" to me, that means it would be hard to get a dtl draw from it. Like the original kayfuns were. The k5 is very friendly to those seeking a restricted dtl. I think there's a big difference between a "true mtl atty" and an atty that you can vape mtl .


It's also why so many og kayfun users were so ......

I enjoyed my Kayfun Lite + but their draw was a little too restricted for me. The K5, wide open, is just right for this MTL vaper. That's why, in looking for a new tank, I'm staying away from those known to have a tight draw.
