Jeez- each to his or her own, you know?

If you don't like vaping, and feel like you're wasting money, try something else. Snus? Cigarettes? Yoga?

Find what works for you.

But it's silly to try to overgeneralize- Saying "You can't save money by vaping" is just as dumb as saying "vaping is always cheaper than smoking."

I've spent around $100 a month, on average, vaping. That's probably somewhat more than I spent on cigs. (Where I live, cigs are less than $3 a pack.)

I COULD save money vaping- a riva, a low res atty, a drip tip, and off you go.

But I didn't start this to save money, I started it cause I want to. And don't mind spending $$ on it. Seriously, though- if you spend $100 a month on cigs, you can EASILY save money vaping. $1200 a year will buy you- a really nice mod with charger, plenty of batts, tanks if you want, as much juice as you could possibly vape, and pile of decent cartos or atties.

No reason to save money on this if you don't want to, but if you want to, you can.

Best,
Ande

Excuse me...if your post is directed at me. I would like to know where I said that you cannot save money by vaping. I said that vaping in the first few months has cost me x amount of dollars. That is not quite the same.

Frankster, what is your quote "happiness is a warm gun" supposed to mean?

Last cigarette 16th October, 2011. Forever grateful for the support and advice from ECF.

I'm glad someone asked that question. I am surprised people do not know where that comes from though. I started this post a while back. Therefore, all that money I was spending is no longer the case. I am going to assume it will cost me around 100 dollars a month from now on. I do not pay too much attention to juice reviews but I still watch them. I am alwyas going to try new juices because I want to vape only juices that I love.

Bach to you question...some of the replies I get on this post are ridiculous. If a person who starts vaping wants to spend money on something new that they like...why should words like foolish come into play. When you see someone with a beautiful house. Are they foolish or do they just like nice things? Nice things cost money.

Those words "Happiness is a Warm Gun" is from a beetles song off their white album. It means shooting drugs into your body. That is what I would like to do after I read some of these post.

We have been Vaping since Sept. Two of us. We bought 808 stuff to start cost about $350. We found DIY better than purchasing large quanities of juice, so most of our vaping costs goes to DIY. A month later we bought eGo's. $60 and have not purchased any other type of PV.

You started out with a high end PV in a SB.
You can clean cartos.
When we do test juice either ours or others we drip and use our atty's so not to waste a carto on juice we dont' like.

Our initial money was well spent because we were able to share our 808 gear with three other people and saved them $$ starting vaping until they decided what they wanted to purchase. They all got eGo's.

We get our cartos from Good Prophets though I heard CCV has a good deal on them also.

If you set a budget on your purchases you should be able to stay within it. Vaping is not expensive. For us a little more so than smoking because we are DIY and always ordering different flavors etc.

It is very easy to jump into the higher end PV's however if the goal in starting vaping was to quit smoking, the recommendation is start small and upgrade. You went straight to the upgrades. I am not sure I'd ever recommend a SB to a newbie.

The first month, yeah, the hardware isn't free. Finding "your perfect juice" is a bit of a quest both in time and $.

Yesterday a 250ml bottle of my all day vape showed up in the mail--$65 for 2 months of juice.

I have a liter of 100mg nic concentrate in the mail now($159). I'll be set for years. Flavorings and PG/VG are cheap.

I've located a VV (0-7v) box mod for about $60, 3.7v tube mods for $40.

This hobby can be dirt cheap if you want it to be. I'm not knocking the vaper who has a Provari and a Darwin with a $200 rebuildable atty on each. If you have the extra cash, and it makes you happy, why not. I don't have the extra cash. My ego passthroughs and my redneck passthrough are just going to have to get the job done for a while.

I am content.:vapor:

If you want to do cheap 3 suggestions:
DIY
Watch for sales/ discounts
Buy in bulk with fellow vapers
I know of a vaper that recently got a free Indulgence 3.7V Starter Kit with her $100.00 order.
http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...share-other-vapers-no-one-else-would-get.html

Thanks for the info...I am going to start diy next week...see how that goes...My biggest problem is that I want to vape something I really like...I can get 180 ml for 30 dollars from blue mist and that would be my entire cost per month maybe with 5 cartos. I know I am going to save alot of money. I have not spent more than 50 dollars in december so I have my cost in good shape. I love bwb but they are pricey at 16.50 for 30 ml.

Again, thank you

I get mine from http://www.rtsvapes.com/1000ml_of_36_mg_Flavorless_Nicotine_Liquid_p/104n.htm @ $61.00 for 1 liter and I can vouch for the nic content (tested) and the quality.
It really is quite easy DIY once you know your fave flavors. I just mixed 100 ml X 20 mg and 100 ml X 10 mg and it took me all of 20 minutes and is enough for 2 months. Cost was about $25.00. Easy enuff to find cheap Nic juice but a little harder to find cheap flavors. I get mine, in bulk, from Inawera Flavors . To cut costs down even further I order my Nic juice in high concentrate/ 100 mg and then dilute.
Good Luck and am enjoying your posts...sometimes for some good research and sometimes for entertainment :D
Happy Vaping, Vapoor.
P.S. My how things have changed. I NEVER envisioned giving you a Like.

Merry Christmas

If myfreedomsmokes still has the 40nic sale, a liter of 100 would be $108.

Merry Christmas to you also...I always change as things go on and I learn a little more about whatever I am getting involved in. Rts was my site to go to for the 100mg-nic and I am going to start with diy shop...I want the PA to start but PA does take american express, my cards are banged out. The inawera, I have been on their site...I will try them after the Pa and also, flavor art.

I love the fact that you find some entertainment with my post...I am many things but do not think I am boring. lol

I read a bunch of posts and might as well get post count out of it. Vapers are pretty much all alike. We buy the wrong things to start with and then try, try, try for a while until we settle on something we like. Then, someone raves about something new and we have to get one of those, too. After a while, we settle down again, finally find a combination that becomes a daily vape for a while and then read about something new and we are off again.

It can get expensive, but not nearly as pricy as a two pack a day habit, especially if that habit gets you into the medical system for a smoking related issue. Vaping is cheap and the sooner you start vaping and kick cigs, the better off you are (at any cost).

The fortunate vapors start with an eGo kit and a few juices. Then, they discover cartos and dripper attys with a drip tip. Once you get to that point, you are mainstream and spend very little money. I spend about $50 a month on juices, cartos, and various accessories.

Lately, I'm spending about $10 a month on 510 cartos for my eGo and I can buy 50ml bottles of juice that I like for $14.00 ($8.99 when Madvapes puts it on sale.) If I need a new Ego-T batt, then that's another $20.

Never a truer word spoken :D
Just in case you decide to DIY I find this Juice Calculator to be very user friendly.
eJuice Me Up - e-Juice e-Liquid Recipe Calculator

Thank you...I have that calculator...I am going to need it...thinking about stating off with 2 tobaccos and four flavors at small quantities...do you think that is too much...I really do not want to pay up in the beginning for diy...Then I will have to make another thread based on that....lol

Good for you. No after I had found my fave juice (all tobacco as I have allergies) I began by mixing 3 ml batches. I've found in DIY I'm making a mix of about 50/ 50 PG/ VG- just my personal choice. If the batches don't work out I put them in one bottle and keep a record of what is in there and the strength. I figure 1 day, if I run out, I can always vape it. Don't think that will happen though as I've got enough Nic juice to last me 1 1/2 years. One last point- put your nic juice in a glass jar to prevent plastic leaching.
Good Luck.

Saving money vaping is a tough thing to do for most. some however, start saving right away.

Once the mod-bug hits you, good luck trying to save. I am fortunate to have found a
device i like and nowadays i just buy liquid and cartos. (bb+gj and bh) along with boge 2.0 cartos.

Few days ago i spent about $140 on 60ml of BB, 30ml of GJ and 130ml of BH and 30 cartos.

Those will last me 2 months (my 2 pad smoking habit cost me $300 a month)
