I do not understand you...when you see my name on a thread...just pass it by...you must be interested in something and I am not rude at all...I just tell the truth...some people cannot handle it.

Frankster, I've been vaping for almost a month. I rolled my own cigs as well. At 75cents a pack it's hard to beat. Given I smoked 6 packs a day ($4.50 total per day)

Here is my smoking chart.

(I already know what kind of tobacco I like and had already found it. I had thrown away full bags of Pipe Tobacco just because the taste was gross, but I wont factor that in either.)

Cigarettes (6PAD) - $0.75/pack > $4.50/day > $31.50/week > $126/month

Vaping (7mL/day[shooting high]) $0.16/mL > $1.12/day > $7.84/week > $31.36/month
(Once I find my ALL-DAY-VAPE the total cost is $0.16/mL on BMV [if I buy 180mL bottles])

As you can see, by vaping, I'll spend in a month what I normally would have spent in a week on analogs. Given it will take me a great amount of time, I still save $94USD PER MONTH. and within 5 months of finding my "all-day-vape" I will start saving money. Those savings eventually will build up, IF YOU STICK TO IT.

Savings (by my math and buying 180mL bottles from BMV)
Per Day - $3.38
Per Week - $23.66
Per Month - $96.64
Per Year - $1,135.68

Did you notice how I shot as well? 7mLs a day is quite a bit. I had a 30mL bottle of menthol that lasted me 3 and a half weeks (1.22mLs a day)

My savings would be almost 6 times that. 578% in fact. So my yearly savings would be $1,135.68 x $5.78 = $6,564.23.

Not to mention the fact that I'm saving my own LIFE while switching to it. You can't even put a price on that.

What I'm saying is that - Yes, you do have to spend money now. It seems to me that you've been duped or you're buying bulk amounts of flavors that you may not like. Instead of buying 10mL bottles for however much you buy them for, why not buy a sample pack of 5 different flavors for 10 dollars? That way, you might like 1 or 2 and throw/sell/give the ones you don't like.

You just have to find a flavor that you LOVE and would be willing to make your "all-day-vape"

That's all that we're trying to point out to you.

Also, I personally don't think you're rude at all. I would be a HELL of a lot more ...... than you if I spent that much money on disgusting flavors.

Anyways, I hope you eventually find a flavor you're in love with. Electronic Cigarettes / Personal Vaporizers really do save you money in the long run, however the ....ty part is that you have to spend more money upfront.

All the best,
-Big Dan

I've been vaping for 10 days.
Total spent: $354

Would have spent on cigs (1/2 pack a day @ $8.50 a pack) $42.50
More spent on vaping than smoking - $311.50

Thank you...at least there is one other person other than me that is losing money...I needed to read that.

Thanks

You can keep saying you are just telling the truth, and for the most part you are. The problem lies in your delivery of the "truth". Just because you are telling the truth doesn't mean you aren't being rude in the delivery. You have obviously been combative in many of your posts when 99% of people here are just attempting to help you.

You are making it abundantly clear that either you do not want advise or you are disguising your combativeness as asking for help.

Either way, grow up and quit being argumentative. If you want help, ask for it. If you don't like the answers you get then ignore them and move on.

I have spent a lot of money on useless kits as well, Frankster.

21.99 gas station eCig (couldn't buy cartos, just let it lay around)
25.99 gas station eCig (had cartos for 11.60 for 3)

10 packs of 11.60 cartos

Then I bought this ReVolver thing, it's not that bad, but it works for right now. 69.99

2 30mL bottles of Menthol. One bottle completely spilled. the other spilled like 5mL..

15.99ea. I hated the menthol flavor but I vaped anyways.

$265.95 spent on useless junk.

VV However, take a look at all the cigarettes that I didn't smoke. VV

I have bought multiple REOs because I like them. That said, I could easily have stopped at two and been set. They won't break. I have also settled on an all day vape (VaporBomb Fire n Ice) and a favorite atomizer (Cisco 1.5 ohm 306).

My monthly maintenance (juice, attys and batteries) runs about $40. Much cheaper than smoking.

Last night I was going over our finances to see where we stand for the month (just got back from a big trip to NY & CT) and I noticed that our checking accounts looked a whole lot better than I thought they would. We've been vaping for about 2 months now and I can really see the difference in what we've saved from not buying cigarettes (and I do buy plenty of juice and supplies).

I think the main thing is the device people use. Some people - like myself - use just a simple eGo. It's cheap (comparably speaking), but it does the job. If you stick with something simple then you will save money. When you get into the top of the line equipment then, yeah, it's going to take a while for you to recoup your start up costs. I think it just depends on what as a consumer fits your needs.

Pure and simple... vaping isn't for everyone. I would never recommend going back to smoking (I've only been analog free for about 2 1/2 weeks myself), but if vaping is costing you too much and you aren't enjoying the flavors that you have to vape then maybe you should just try nicotine gum or the patch and just give up smoking and vaping completely. Since you say that you are spending so much on vaping then I would guess that gum and/or the patch will end up costing you less in the long run. Life is too short to continue to do something you hate.

I am sure it has been mentioned in this post (I admit that I have not read all 15 pages), but it is easy to save with vaping. All you really need is a box mod, charger, and batteries (less than 40 bucks, a lot less if you can solder even a little). Atties and cartos can be had pretty reasonable by watching for sales or the classifieds. Ce2's are a great option since they seem to last pretty well and are much easier to clean and get more use from (Yes, they do tend to leak but a few 3ml syringes from Madvapes cures that problem). Ideally, you could use some of the funds saved from buying the cheaper box mod and purchase a rebuildable atty. I rebuilt a Ce2 last night and surprisingly it works great. Longevity is what I am looking at now since my soldering skills leave a lot to be desired. The purpose of this post was just to point out that vaping doesn't have to be expensive. I for one believe that no matter how much it costs it is better than the alternative of analogs.

I was paying about $6 a pack, smoked a pack every 24 hours. $42 a week/$2184 a year. Also paying a tobacco surcharge on my health insurance $60 a month/$720 a year. Not to mention doctor visits and medication for bronchitis 3 to 4 times a year. And the clothes/cars/etc. I've ruined by burning holes and stinking up everything.

I've been vaping one month. I've spent $242.42 on hardware and juice, I have 19 bottles of juice and only one I really love. If I'd bought a pack a day plus my surcharge on insurance, I would have spent $240. (Let's assume I'd have lost a lighter to account for the other $2.) I've spent exactly the same amount I would have spent.

Wow, I'd intended to tell you I'd wasted a lot of money, turns out I haven't. Thanks for helping me come to that realization.

FinallyQuit, I am really happy to hear I'm not the only one that doesn't like most of the juices they bought! I feel like there's something wrong with me -- I bought a lot of juices that everyone else loves and they do nothing for me! The surprising thing is that I was a menthol smoker and the one juice I do like is Dekang RY4.

I'm exactly the same! I was a Newport 100 Box (no soft pack, thank you very much!) smoker, if I ran out of smokes I would bum one from someone at work but only menthol. I can't stand the taste of a non-menthol cigarette. However, of the 3 menthol vape flavors I've tried they have all been. . .disappointing. Not really a tobacco taste, not really a mint taste, kind of like vaping mouthwash. So now I've discovered I love a coffee flavor, the RY4 I bought isn't half bad, and a couple people at work have non-menthol tobacco vapes and I like them a lot too. Weird, I know.

There is one store I can go to to try the flavor before I buy, and that's how I found my French Roast Coffee. Their hours and location aren't really convenient for me, but I'm heading over there if I feel the urge to stock up again any time soon.

It's easy to save money with vaping as long as you are buying what you need. I found a decent juice the first month and stuck with it. I haven't bought a mod. I use Riva batteries and LR cartos now, though I've tried tanks and standard atomizers. I dripped for a while. Every now and then I sample something, but I don't buy a 30 ml bottle if I haven't tried it yet. That's crazy. I don't switch between a million flavors. When I smoked, it was one brand. It's become the same with vaping.

I spend $40 per month at most, and I vape non-stop all day long. I look at it as a pleasurable way to manage my addiction. I think the people who put all the money into this look at it as more of a hobby, which is fine if you have the funds to try out everything that is available. I don't, so I stick with what I have discovered to work and that's fine with me.

I was spending $50 per carton of Marlboros and going through 5+ cartons a month. I then switched to making my own cigs, and that cost me about the same as vaping does now.

ya ok, well it seems that you have some sort of issue else where, like brain chemistry or taste bug defects... m y statement is completely logical. I have yet to throw fluid out, and I get sometimes a month out of 1 cartomizer... SO... You said it yourself, the fluid you use sucks... oO you know what people do when fluid sucks? CHANGE IT, OR THE COMPANY durrr! lol sorry for sounding mean, but wow man, you yourself are illogical... I know no one that has any problems like this, I build mods, and put kits together for people and sell em, and I still have had 0 complaints... it just seems to me you're someone that is trying to falsify facts to people who are sold on it cuz ur someone who wants it banned or something... if you don't like any of it, go back to anologs and get off the forum

You do not make much sense...I never buy a juice from a house a second time dude when I think The juice is horrendous. I'm sorry if my cartos do not last a month as you alluded to for yours. As for my problems, it is definitively not my fault if I think the juice is atrocious, that is my problem ,not yours. You are right about one thing, if I do not find some juices that I enjoy vaping, I will go back to smoking, again that seems to my problem. I do not falsify facts. I would I want it banned...you make no sense...lighten up, it,s the holiday season. have yourself a drink and relax.

you got it baby
