Sometimes people are not ready to quit and give up the smokes. They find fault in everything about vaping so they have an excuse to smoke. They dont want to work at it and try. They just want an excuse to smoke.Dont worry about it.Not everyone is ready. When they are ready and they want to vape, they will.If not theres nothing anyone can say thats going to change that.

I didn't start off with the greatest vaping experience either. I started out with a popular 510 vaporizer and though It did help me quit (in one day) I couldn't stand having to charge the battery from my computer and them not lasting half as long as they claimed. So, the next month I bought a battery mod. This was last year. I bought my mod (6v, 510 connection), juice, atty's, and 8 batteries (that I'm still using by the way) and spent about $160. The next month, I found a vendor that sold 100mg liquid nic at a very good price and started mixing my own. A couple months ago I bought a gallon of PG at tractor supply for $20 and 2 bottles of VG at Walmart for about $3.30 a bottle. Now, not counting the vg, pg, and flavors (that I pick up here and there) I spend less than $60 every 3 months and I vape about 60ml per month. The liquid nic I bought for about $30. I bought 60 ml of 100 mg strength and vape at 10mg, so I have enough nicotine to last me for about 10 months. I switched from atty's to cartomizers and usually use 4 a month, so a package of 5 usually lasts me 5 weeks (I use the boges because they seem to last longer and deliver the best taste and TH for me).

As a single parent I have to watch the money carefully so I'm very grateful that I've found the sites I've found that allow me to vape and not spend even 1/4 of the amount I spent on analogs. Granted, DIY has helped me achieve this and if you're willing to experiment yourself you can do it too. Google is a great tool, it's how I found the sites I use and all 4 of them are ECF vendors.

I hope you're not too frustrated because vaping is a great way to avoid the analogs. Look around, get you some small bottles, go onto youtube for how to videos, use an online liquid calculator, and have fun. Oh, and find you a good mod if you don't already have one. Mine cost $85 dollars alone, without the batts, charger, and carto's. I've had it for just over a year now and it's vaping like it did the day I got it. Oh yeah, use google a lot too, for everything you can think of for vaping. reviews, e-liquid recipes, liquid calculators and so forth.

I bought:
an $80 kit (40 shipping!)
a $40 kit ($11 shipping) to be temporary till the good one arrives

I bought $48 in cartos (half of thats shipping)
44 on e juice (half of thats shipping)

this is my second day, But most of that stuf wont come for like 2 weeks-20 days
so Thats why i did that.

The first day (yesterday) I vaped 2 diff carts, But neither is empty yet so I still dont know how much my daily/weekly cost is.

by tomorow hopefully I can figure out what my cost is, So I can acuratly see when I will break even!

SHIPPING is the ONLY reason its even this expensive!!! I need to find a low shipping place!!!

I might have spent a fair pile of dough on my equipment but smoking up here costed me $220/month.

2 months and i`ll break even, then its on with the juice and cartos...no biggie.

The cost of juice and cartos will be offset by the amount of general cleaning products I used to keep my smoking ares clean...somewhat.

win-win.

who cares if its cheaper...I have a new hobby, Im not coughing up crap all day anymore, I hope to see my kids get married, someday meet my grandkids, always trying new things I learn about in the ECF forum...i feel so much better, its fun, i dont smell, hell yea i spend allot...!!!!

I bought an ego-t about 8 months ago now, mainly out of curiosity. It was more of a "cool, I want to know what that is!" order than "this is going to help me quit analogs".
But, even though I didn't mean to, I quit analogs in 2 days after receiving my kit

8 months later, I own 2 provaris, a lavatube, a whole bunch of ego batteries, and a serious boatload of cartomizers, juice and accessories. Did I spend more than I did when I was still stinking up the place? Probably. But regret it? Not a second!

I figure you only spend what you want to spend. I suppose I could get by with my ego batteries and sticking to my favourite juice, but where's the fun in that ;-)
If it's not worth it for you, well... Don't do it. Sometimes the solution really is THAT simple.

(by the way the topic starter was obviously trolling. At least, I hope)

Excuse me. I do not even know what trolling is and the post was not about how much fun you are having or about health issues. It was merely about dollars spent versus dollars saved. That was all it was. Trolling!! please, you're killing me

My first month vaping (11/2 - 12/2 and haven't placed order since then) has cost me $220 for hardware, juice and shipping. I have no idea how some of you are spending that much money (and complaining about it). Sure, there are lots of gadgets and flavors I would like to try out and I can afford to do it... but I don't because I have some self control and I research things before I throw money away.

Exactly, its all up to what YOU choose to spend honestly, Either you go basic and in that case I would be shocked if you didnt SAVE money!! Or you go overboard with lots of variety, but its your choice!

If you want to only spend exactly what you would on real smokes, Then you could easily do it (even with shipping)

I spent like $250 but i only needed to spend like $79 I CHOSE to buy lots of diff juices and extra parts etc...
You can easlity get started for under $100 and maintain it for less then buying a pack a day

If you cant...Then i dont know how you afforded smoking!!!!!!!!!

First off, congrats, and welcome to ECF!

I spent quite a bit in the getting-started phase. EGO-T's in hand, I bought every juice that I thought sounded good. I always hear "your mileage may vary". That's the truth. With about 80 juices in the stash box, I feed them off to my wife and step-daughter. They tend to like the fruit flavors. Me? Not so much. After a few months of trying everything out, I settled back down to a few tobacco flavors.

And Frankster, that's seems to be the key. Many will purchase a ton starting out, trying to find what flavors work, and whether a cartomizer, tank, etc. works best for them. I went a little crazy too, and was also purchasing for the wife. She's settled down to three flavors, and I've settled down to two. That makes carto and juice usage measurable, and there's where the savings are now coming into play. Not sure if it'll compare with the price of roll-your-own ciggies, but compared to the $7/pk here in the Dallas area, a month's worth of juice and cartos equals what I spent in a week on ciggies.

Good luck on your search for the right fit and juice.

It's called "addiction" when you try something good you want more.....and when you find something bad you want to try something else......and when you don't get a package in the mail you feel cheated and want to order something so you can follow your order and get something new in the mail!!!!!

I wasn't trying to get down on anyone's hobby. If that is what makes you happy and what you enjoy, then rock on wit' yo bad self. I can buy whatever I want in the vaping world without it impacting my bank account too badly but I don't because I prioritize my budget and try to get the most out of what I have. When my eGo batts die, I'll look into upgrading to another system but that provari can wait a few months. Same thing goes with juice... I may not have the prefect all day vape right now but I do have 100ml of not-too-terrible stuff that I will make disappear (not into the trash) before ordering more. What I don't understand is complaining about how much it costs while just pissing money away.
