I agree starting off you do spend some money. I first bought my ego kit and juices, probably costed me around $90-$100 total with that. Then after I only spent money on juices so my start was fairly cheap. After that I bought a new charger for my batteries and G4's (blech). juice here and there and recently I've been buying fluxo ce2s and I DIY my own juice. I have enough supplies to last me a few months and if I do need to buy it'll probably be flavours. The VG and nicotine are pretty cheap so I think I'm definitely saving now after my first year. Only thing I need to buy is a few batteries and a charger for them so I can use my lavatube more haha.

FRANKSTER,

What your doing wrong is not shopping around very well and choosing to buy a lot of things that add up to big money. For every pricy thing in e-cigs there a WAY cheaper version or cheaper way to do things. You learn to do things cheaper in time and if you don't well, your just not paying attention.

I spent about 70 bucks for my first e-cig starter kit and that included two bottles of 16 oz each of PG and VG that I have 9 months later only used a 1/4 of.

I'll break this down for you.

E-cig kit with two batteries, charger, two atomizers - 35 dollars. Replacement atomizers can be as much as 5 to 8 dollars each and they only last a week or two, so.. switch to CE2's and get a 5 pack for 10 bucks. This will easily give you 5 months of working atomizers in CE2 style if you take care of them.

Juice - you can spend 15 to 30 dollars for a 30 ml bottle pre-mixed juice that will last you a week, OR you can buy from Void Mist, who has many 15 ml bottles for 3 dollars and 30 Ml bottles for 6 dollars !

Even cheaper is the DIY method. Buy a few juice concentrates for 2 to 4 dollars a bottle, some PG, VG ( cost about 13 dollars for both 16 oz bottles that will last you two years easily.) and liquid nicotine ( I get a 60 ML bottle of 60 MG for 7 dollar) and for under 30 bucks you'll have juice that will last you 6 months easily. Just replace the nicotine about every 4 months and the concentrates as needed. Super Cheap !

Add all that up and for less than 100 bucks you have e-cig and juice to last you a year.

Mind you there are companies out to flat out rip you off. The same 60ml bottle of 60mg liquid nicotine for 7 dollars I get from Void Mist (11 with shipping) costs $55.00 - That's Fifty Five Dollars before Shipping from the DIY Flavor Shack. There is no difference in the nicotine whatsoever. That's a markup of over 5 times the price. They charge crazy prices because people are stupid enough to pay them without shopping around. If they have to charge that much to make a buck then they are really dealing with the wrong supplier that's ripping them off. What's more is The DIY Flavor Shack is a official ECF forum supplier and is "recommended" by ECF. That means absolutely Zilch. Don't make the mistake that just because a company is recommended by ECF means that that company will always have good or even fair prices.

Thanks for the info...I just started diying yesterday and it is plain to see the cost saving relative to the juice vendors...Thus far I went to rts for my 100mg nic and pg and vg. I went to the diy shop...I think that is different than the diy flavor shack to get my TPA AND FA flavors which seem relatively cheap. I use only cartos and they seem to last about 2 weeks as long as I use 70/30 pg/vg...too much vg destroys the cartos. Then I boil them and they come back for another 2 weeks.

The first 2 months of vaping is the hardest when you have no reference point...I did not come on ecf until I was about 3 weeks to a month in. Thanks for the advice.

$215 spent for vaping products so far (includes s & h). And yes, we paid too much initially for our e-cig 808's (2 auto, 2 manual), 40 carto pre-filled, 2 wall & 1 car charger, & case = $163. I went with a couple's kit because I didn't know exactly what we would need. 2 times since the initial purchase we've bought 5 premade ejuices = $52 (still waiting on 3 to be delivered).

So here is my calculator:

Now double this because my hubby smoked as much as me. Yes, we have definitely saved. Not only our wallet but also our lungs, clothing, health, etc.

I want to get into DIYing our own juice but have to do a bit more research & get some start up advice. We are also looking to eventually get a few more batteries (found a new supplier=cheaper). So our vaping costs will go up but that's OK because we are saving $$$ not buying analogs at the same time. :D

Ran into a heck of a deal today --> 42% off of anything, so I bought 2 XL batts & some blank carts. So add $34.18 to my total. Still in the profit column though.

Let me know how you like the 100mg. I just ordered some 60mg from RTS cus Void Mist was out. This will be the first time in 9 months since I started vaping that I have used another brand of nicotine. I choose 60mg to start because the higher nic content the less drops or ml's you have to use when mixing. I got used to it, the way it hits you at 24 mg after mixing.

I have thought about trying 100 mg because this would cause me to use even less for mixing and save more $$ on the bottles but I hesitate because 100mg which is really 10% nicotine by volume seems so strong and I don't really trust the calculators to get it right. I know you don't have 60mg to compare it to, but just give me your thoughts on how the juice taste and how it hits you compared to pre-mixed stuff you buy.

The nic test kits sold on ebay do a decent job if you want to check the nic base yourself, for confidence in the strength.

They are the kits that come with bromothymol blue, weak sulfuric acid, a little graduated cylinder, pipette or syringe (i got pipette, he may have changed to syringe).

I've been vaping for about 3 months now and have spent less then $400 (including startup cost). It was costing me about $200/month to smoke. following that logic i'm $200 in the black. :vapor:

I bought an ego kit and a silver bullet as my main PVs. i use boge cartos at $8/ 5count. I don't buy juices at more than $.60/ml

I have the k-go and sb...if you are using the sb at 6 volts...can you tell me what cartos you use for them...I also use the boge 510 lr at 3.7, but I am looking for a carto for the sb at 6...I'm thinking dual coil at 2.5 ohms. thanks

That's what I use at 6v. I usually run 3.7v. But I keep a tank with a 2.5 DCC in it on my desk when I want 6v
