Meet Me in St Louie Louie
I never thought of myself as a tomboy. I was never very tough. I just loved to move and explore. And, of course, like most of us in the 50's and 60's, there was no air conditioning indoors.

The Benefits of No Air Conditioning ::

Your Post reminded me :: It was the mid-1950's, we had an Apartment, there was no Air, it was a Hot Summer .. However, in the Unit next door, there lived a Young Woman (I can't remember if she was married) that fought the heat by dressing as scantily as possible .. at my age, back then, it mattered not to me, although my Dad apparently paid some attention to this .. I remember this tidbit quite clearly as my Mother seemed none to pleased .. ..

Of course, we did have Fans .. and Ice Cold Nehi .. :)

Tonight, I will be attending a Jim Messina show at my favorite venue, a truly intimate Theater where No Seat is a Bad Seat ::

Photo Gallery - The Wildey Theatre in Edwardsville, Illinois

I've known Mr Messina for a long time and I'm hoping to insert myself into his Entourage for a Late Dinner .. :)

Back in the Day, I wore out this Album ::

It's been a long time since I've seen a theater like that...deep red velvet curtains to hide the screen and a stage for live performances...nostalgic memories...;)

Enjoy your evening and hopefully, the late dinner...:)

Thanks to all for the birthday wishes. A great seafood dinner at a local dive is in my future. :)

My favorite kind of place (and menu) .. :) .. Bon Appétit & Cin Cin .. and surely you could squeeze in a Libation without hugely detrimental effects .. ;)

@clnire

I've been meaning to ask :: How did the finger / thumb slicing episode turn out .. ??
After 2 surgeries, one to remove the failed reconnect done in the first ER, one to reconstruct and cover what is left of the tip to cover the bone, healing slowly but surely. Hopefully I should have use of the end joint. Funky, stumpy thumb tip, but as long as it functions I am good. Going to take time to heal.

Thanks for thinking of me!

Can't imagine why she'd be upset...

My Dad, may he RIP, among his many "Life Lessons" that have stuck with me .. one was "You can work up an appetite, and that's OK .. as long as you eat at Home .." .. ;) .. I kept that credo thru 4 Wives .. ;) .. whether they believed it or not is a whole different story .. o_O

Good morning to the young at heart:) Weather giving us 5 days in the 80's before fall weather comes in.

We've been "having" fall already, but this coming mid-week is prognosticated to return us to (late) summer. As if we needed that, having just finished the driest summer (solstice to equinox) since 1917...

The All-Knowing Weather Folks are insisting the current Heat Wave will Break on Wednesday or so here in Fly Over Country .. until then, I'm afraid the Heat & Humidity is going to be fairly brutal .. :(

I caught a break with cooler temps in August and turned the AC off.. Had to turn it back on a few days ago , heading for 90 by Monday....and if they're right it will be a week before it goes below 80 here... a short Indian Summer?...

Well, I guess we had all the rain you missed. My grass never stopped growing all summer. In August I can usually stretch out mowings to 2 week intervals and I'd have large brown areas in the 'back forty'. Not so this year. In August it was still almost like spring as far as the grass growing. Just in the last week w/ some cooler weather it's finally slowed down, but still green all over.

We actually got some rain the other day for about an hour, first in who knows how long. Temps getting down in the lower 30s at night for a while now we are headed for an Indian summer next week also @DavidOck starting Tues at 70 till Friday at 78 then going back down again been way below normal in the lower 60s for a week or so. Everything here is still dryer then a popcorn fart. We already have put about 30 miles on our Subaru. Better get it in for an oil change. Love those heated seats. I haven't even driven it yet, gonna have to sneak
out when the Old Blister isn't looking. Lmao.
I mean
