Rant time:

Once again misinformation or incomplete information gives vaping in general a bad name. Hubs informed me this morning ( with a concerned look in his eyes) about the latest - 39 people died from lung disease related to vaping. Wherever he read this only quoted part of the CDC report.

Here is part of the CDC report and below a link for the full report:
"The latest national and state findings suggest products containing THC, particularly from informal sources like friends, or family, or in-person or online dealers, are linked to most of the cases and play a major role in the outbreak."

Outbreak of Lung Injury Associated with the Use of E-Cigarette, or Vaping, Products | Electronic Cigarettes | Smoking & Tobacco Use | CDC

It drives me crazy. It's bad enough that big pharma and tobacco companies are doing their best to outlaw vaping because they make more mobey from smokers and smoker-related problems but people should get and share ALL the accurate info before they spread it.

End of rant.

Or the people who park in the disabled spots ... who aren't disabled, have a tag or disabled plates. I see a lot of that around here. :nah:
I'm disabled but don't look it. I've been confronted by people for parking in the disabled spot when there's "obviously nothing wrong with me" I have severe osteoarthritis, coronary artery disease, severe heart disease, fibromyalgia and a couple more problems that make walking in the parking lot or store dangerous to my health. You can't judge people by how they look. I'm tired of being confronted for parking in a handicapped spot or using a cart in the store. Just because they are more visibly disabled doesn't mean they are more disabled and give them the right to harass me. In Louisiana at least, you have to jump through hoops to get a handicapped placard or plate. If you aren't handicapped enough you don't get the doctor's form confirming your disability.
I'm not saying you do that. It just sounded like what I hear almost every time I go somewhere. Realize that not every disability is visible. I have just as much right to park there as any other disabled person.
I will add that if I'm having a good day I won't use the cart in the store. If I start having problems DH gets a chair from management for me to sit in and he completes the shopping. Rant over.

I bid you all a very fond adieu.....for now......thank you for your beautiful words.....sending out love to all :wub::wub:
 right back atcha, Kat. Don't stay away long!

I would feel guilty for not getting it because I'm not protecting my health like I 'should'. Of course, I would also feel guilty for being selfish enough to get it. Damned if I do, damned if I don't. I'm a good Catholic girl. ;) Guilt is our specialty.
I laughed because I do understand, but age has afforded me the freedom from it, also.

I don't judge except when they sprint into the store. I can't run and if they can jog in there, I don't think they need to take up a spot for someone who does need it, like yourself.

    Perhaps I am wrong though.

I know I am fairly new in this thread, but I've grown very fond of y'all. I thought I owed it to you to tell you that tomorrow will be my last day on the forum for awhile. I really need a vacation from here. Dealing with some things that will work themselves out, but, in the meantime, I need my energy to focus on that and myself. I send out love and hugs to my new friends and love and hugs to my old friends (Frannie and Gracie). I hope to be back sometime in the future, but I can't give a time. Could be sooner, or could be later. Thank you for accepting me so readily and caring so deeply so fast. Take care. Will see you tomorrow, one more time....:wub::wub::wub::wub:
I've taken time away a couple of times in the 5 years I've been here. Just needed to cross one thing off my list of daily things. And I know how I am when I get stressed, so saving everyone else from that. So I understand the need to clear the board & focus on yourself. Just don't forget to come back! We care about you, Kat!

[QUOTE/]Not to say that there are doctors who would do this for undeserving people but sometimes physical handicaps may not be visible. For example, I have zero cartilage in my right knee…it's bone on bone. Some days I can walk fine, some days I visibly limp and some days I need my cane. My doctor offered to sign a handical form for me but I declined.[/QUOTE]

I've been "confronted" over handicapped parking so many times it's unreal. I didn't need a cane until 2010. But for the first 13 years that I was having mobility issues a cane would have been useless to me. I could get into a store, could usually walk enough to get only what I needed, stand in line to check out, & maybe get back out to the car. I'd walk in looking fine, but hobble back out. The lectures always came while I was going in, & I bite back. I had delayed getting a HC tag for years & was determined to walk as far as possible as long as possible. I finally had to do it. Then came having to use scooters. I did the same thing with working. Worked until I made myself so sick catastrophe struck & overnight I had to retire. Now I don't even go in. I do all my shopping online, including ordering groceries. I have a friend that picks them up on her way home from work & helps me get them in. Next thing on my health list of things to do is getting my back fixed. But I've been saying that for years. [emoji12]

she wants to have one day with the handguns to get a feel for whichever one she decides to use for the class. She's got 4 to choose from.
Oklahoma now has "Constitutional Carry". Prior to this, I maintained my "Concealed Carry Permit". If a person used a revolver during training, they could only carry a revolver. If a semi-automatic was used, then they could carry a revolver or a semi-automatic.

On a day you don't need it, don't use it.
I have good days and not so good days. When I am having a good day I will pass the handicapped spots, saving them for those who need them more than I do.
I'd walk in looking fine, but hobble back out.
Totally agree. Especially when I shop at Sam's or other big brand stores.

I'm sorry if I sounded like I was judging someone for judging others handicap. I too would get upset if I saw someone parking in the HC space and jogging into the store. It just hit a nerve. I was referring to judging people with no obvious disabilities not judging people who show off they aren't disabled. My jogging days are over. I truly didn't mean to upset anyone. I've found a family here and don't want to ruin that.

I understand, it hit a big nerve with you. Just to be clear I hope you didn't think I was being judgemental of anyone. I sincerely wasn't. All I said was those who take a handicapped spot with no placard, plates and are NOT disabled are irritating (stated nicely). I never judge a book by its cover. My wife was severely disabled, with a placard, for almost 30 years before she passed away last year. It always hit a nerve with us when we saw non-handicapped peeps taking those spots. In that time we saw it all with regard to handicap spots as I am sure you, and most everyone else here, has too. :)

ETA: I did an oooooops. My stooopid finger was supposed to have hit "2" not 3. Sometimes my fingers get ahead of my brain. My wife became disabled in 1999. So yeah, almost 20 years. Sorry.
