Good morning, Loungers! :)

Good morning all :)

Lucky for me they are very accurate for my area :).

Speaking of temps I need a new outside thermometer that is very accurate. Not the $5 from Walmart. This time of year it really makes a difference outdoor plant-wise. Any suggestions?
I'm looking for the very same thing, so I'll be checking Amazon!

Yeah, well .. 'tis true .. when I was young(er), I tolerated the cold quite well for a Southern Boy .. now, not so much .. snow may look pretty, but I can live without it .. I like 4 Seasons, not the 2 we've been getting here in Fly Over Country the last few years .. although I did read that a Freeze Advisory was issued for N Florida and S Georgia ..

What really gets me are these young'uns that prance around with shorts and a t-shirt like it's some kind of badge of honor .. (well, maybe it is .. o_O)

On a side note, I nosed around to see what kind of turnout and whatnot took place in DC for the vape Rally this past weekend, did not turn up much and the Rally Site did not post any update .. has anyone read anything .. ?? It did not make the News here ..
Several FB vape groups posted. Giant vapes was one, & CASAA did.

The lady who was trying to buy my KY property was selling two of her horses to get the down payment. Had an accident and both horses were killed. So sad.

So sad, indeed! What a terrible loss for her.

Had the same problem a few weeks ago. I had to open a new account. Oddly, everything I had to enter would pop up as soon as I started. They knew me!

I found the Gallop pole interesting, however, one thing I would have liked to see the number of adults that are vaping that used the vape to stop smoking. Also, how many of the people in the different income brackets that are smokers.
For the last month or so I have been avoiding FaceBook.
I have gotten sick and tired of all of the hate and division from people. Granted I spent 21 years fighting for the rights of people to maintain their rights to free speech but just because a person has the right to their opinions doesn't mean that you can hate anyone who has a different opinion. I believe this is causing a division that is going to hurt our country. Rant over.
Since I have been avoiding FB I have been spending more time reading. One of the book series I have been reading has been The Hobbit. I finished An Unexpected Journey and I am now reading The Lord of the Rings. I've seen all of the movies, however, I discovered that I had never read the books.
I agree with you on that Gallup vaping poll. Polls are kind of, umm, I would say they are anywhere from "funny" to perhaps "alarming" because they can be manipulated by those who create them. You know, agendas. One alarming aspect is the numbers of people who simply swallow the results hook, line and sinker and believe them to be reality. You know, that mentality of they said it so it must be true. My Mom believes everything the news says, everything.

Our politicians and media outlets have become masters of the poll. Right or wrong, they know how to work them and do. I'm not saying polls are bad, or good, I just think it's up to us to filter through and to try and understand the "meat" ... just like with any news. Don't know if that makes sense but it does for me. I question some of the numbers in that vaping poll. For example, people who are 50 and up I don't know for 100% certainty but just from people I know here I think we number more than 3%. IDK

And I also agree with you to some extent on social media. Social media is not a bad thing but like any "new" toy some people have jumped in and its become obsession for them. They've made a home of it. Balance has yet to be found there, I think. For a family, or friends, who are spread across the country and/or world it's great for sharing and keeping in touch. I see social media as being in its infancy and as such there are growing pains. Like any new thing.

Jerry, thank you for your 21 years of service. What you said about hate and division, I can relate. I think perhaps some of that has to do with peoples upbringing. If you are in a family that sows the seeds of hate you may grow up to be similar. But perhaps not. My Grandpa on my Mom's side was a man filled with great hatred and non-acceptance. You could just "feel" a dark stormy cloud when in his presence. He was the most racist person I've ever known. He would "preach" all that a lot.

My Dad on the other hand was the stronger influence and the total opposite of my Grandpa. My Dad taught acceptance of all people. This may sound corny but my Dad was my hero. When I was young I wanted to be just like him when I grew up. Anyhow, he and my Grandpa would get into "it" a lot and at times had to be separated by my Grandma and Mom. My Dad would not tolerate him preaching his vile BS to my brothers and I. When my Mom and her sister told me all about my Grandpa's upbringing it all made sense to me, sort of. Like any of us he had a choice and he chose to pretty much make all an "enemy". Yet I still loved him.

Books. I've always loved reading and I can get completely engrossed in books. Funny, I just finished reading the Harry Potter books for the umpteenth time. Yes, I know it's a kids story but I still need to feed my inner kid. I too love the LOTR and Hobbit books and movies. They're classics. I love all kinds of books.

Good afternoon Everyone !!! :)

I hope you have an awesome day!

BTW ... please call me John.

ShowMeTwice is something I've always needed in life. If you show me something once many times I have a problem remembering or getting "it". But if you show me twice, Ha, I usually get it.
Hence, ShowMeTwice! ;)

The 2016 Election pretty well showed anyone that was paying attention that Polling is less accurate than a dice roll ..
