Oh I so understand from where you are coming! When my routine gets interrupted, especially with some uninvited.....news, people, whatever........it sets me off until I realize it's only temporary and maybe I needed a break anyway. I know you don't need a break from your passion, but it IS only temporary and maybe you'll even get an unintended inspiration.

Good morning Bea and Anise. It's a cold rainy morning here. Think I'll just stay inside today.

Yesterday afternoon we were traveling on the turnpike when we saw an awful accident just 2 cars in front of us. Evidently an SUV in the left lane must have hit the concrete barrier and spun around and then crossed all 3 lanes before the car in front of us, in the right lane, smashed into the side of the SUV. Fortunately only the driver of the SUV had some blood on her face, probably from the airbag going off. Everyone else was able to stop in time. Whew! I'm so glad nobody was badly hurt and also that we weren't 2 seconds further along!

Ugh! Well, you've been through this so many times. They come in for 2 minutes and leave. Just spend 10 minutes to tidy up and then get back to the easel and don't think about them. For all you know they may not even show up so don't let them disrupt your life for more than a few minutes.

Good morning.

What's everyone doing for NY eve? Hubs and I don't even stay up for midnight anymore. We can't stay awake that late .

We haven't stayed up for midnight in years. When we were young it was a good excuse to have a party, but I have no use for it otherwise. Guess it's interesting to check out the fireworks in other countries, but I'd rather be reading a book.

Morning, bohemians!

Being on the west coast, I'll watch the Times Square ball drop at 9 our time, just to be sure that 12 ton crystal doesn't cut loose and, well, just fall! May have seen the fireworks from other parts of the world before that, or not. May remember to change the calendar, or not :)

Otherwise, just another day.

While it is one of the most spectacular display's around the World . . . Really hope the "Lord Mayor" of Sydney reverses their decission and finally cancels the Fireworks, especially given all the "bushfires" that are surrounding the city as it is and the heatwave throughout Australia . . .

Good morning

This is the best quote I've read for the new year:
"Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary." Steve Jobs

Good morning Bea and Anise and Cathy. So, here we are, another New Years Eve. We have no celebration plans. I expect we'll be in bed long before midnight. If we happen to still be awake at midnight I may turn the tv on to see the ball drop - meh! I am, however, already trying to get my head used to writing 2020. When are we finally going to drop the 4 digit year and just go with 20?

Good Morning, all. Happy New Year's Eve to my friends and adopted family. My daughter is going to a party at her friends and will be staying overnight there. I'll be staying at home and probably just watching TV or reading a good book, I may just do both. I lead such an exciting life. :tumble:

My cellphone has been acting up recently so I ventured out yesterday and upgraded to a new phone. I looked at the phones they had to offer and had immediate sticker shock. They wanted more for a phone than I paid for my laptop. Since I only use it for the periodic texting and making calls, I wound up just getting a basic Samsung Galaxy A10e. I just paid for it upfront, I couldn't see paying for it on a monthly payment plan.

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Hola .. :)

And so the Second Decade of the New Century draws to a close .. I don't know why, but last night I was thinking about the Y2K lead up and bru-ha-ha around that non-event ..

I think it was around late 2010 that I stumbled upon ECF and lurked .. I'd bought an njoy kit and was quite unhappy with it, especially since it had cost well over $100 clams ..

As I look back, it's been a Decade of ups and downs for me, with the one constant being my Friends here on ECF .. we've collectively seen deaths, births, tragedies, joy, pain, and pretty much the whole gamut of the Human Condition .. here we remain, and here I hope we stay until we can stay no more ..

Yes, I will probably catch an UBER tonight and tip back a few for “Auld Lang Syne” (times gone by) .. Really, I did not foresee the day that I would not drive myself, but such is life .. In those "Times Gone By", NYE was always one of my favorite nights, always hit a nice event, have a nice meal and Dance .. we were meant to Dance, I think .. with things such as they are these days with me, shuffling may be replacing actual Dancing ..

If you can, take your Significant Other and spin up your favorite "belly rubbing" tune, as Randall F. (txtumbleweed) used to say .. it does not matter if you are in the living room, just hold each other and look one another in the eyes as you think back to the many years that have gone by .. if you have no Significant Other, raise a glass and say the names of those that are gone but not forgotten ..

But do, please do, Celebrate another Decade gone by in some small way .. we are all only given so many ..
