Well "it is hitting home" for us in our county. A doctor at one of the big hospitals returned from a trip to Eqypt and brought back the virus with him (yes, he came down with it) and spread it to his patients and others around the hospital. We have an outbreak starting in our county. So ...

The state govenor has shut down all schools, community centers, gyms and other public centers for 2 weeks starting today. Grocery stores, pharmacies, and gas stations will remain open. He has also recommended/requestred all non-essential retail stores shut down too, but has not mandated it.

Janet's counting on the liquor store being open because she want to buy some Jamison to make her own Baily's Irish Cream. Yeah, that sounds like a good recipe to stave off the virus.

Hola .. :)

What is a Spectator Sport without, er, Spectators .. ?? o_O

I'm kind of a sucker for Reward Programs / Coupons .. so, over the years, I've signed up for a good long list of Eateries that use email to send offers .. in the last couple days, my inbox has been inundated with reassurances of their commitments to Health and Safety .. with each and every one suggesting I use DoorDash / GrubHub / etc if I don't feel comfortable actually going in ..

Well, no, I'm not quite to that point just yet .. today, Chili's is having $3.13 El Presidente Margs in commemoration of, you guessed it, 03/13 .. now, you can't get that with a GrubHub delivery .. (who'd want to ..??) .. combine that with a 3 for $10 platter or the all-you-can-eat soup, salad, chips and salsa and it's Eatin' and Drinkin' Good in the 'Hood .. a couple of those El Presidente's generally does the trick .. .. "Virus, what Virus .. ??"

oh yeah!, we along with 4 other couples were to depart from NYC for a 10 day Caribbean cruise this coming Monday. Oops, that's not going to happen. Earlier this week, the cruise line allowed cancellations and full credit to book another cruise within the next 2 years. This past Monday 'we' all decided to take the offer and cancel our cruise.

Too bad on the Cruise .. 10 days at sea sounds great ..

BTW: Just got a notice this morning from Management of the Apartment complex where I live that the community room will be closed for at least 2 weeks or more, except on Election Day March, 17th since it is a Polling location. Those who get Meals-on-Wheels will be informed what will happen since they meet in the community room. We are also put on notice that they will be Limiting people congregating in any public area (Laundry Rooms/Mail box areas/etc.)on property. AND - Also will be closely motoring the outbreak in our area and those who have contracted COVID-19 living in the apartment complex so that appropriate measure can be taken. . . .

Personally, I am glad I do not associate with most of the other tenants here . . . AND - Thankfully, although it is 2 months away, I am already prepared for this years Hurricane season to meet "My" Personal NEEEDS for at least a month (Med's for 2 months) . . . Just Sayin' . . . ;)

EDIT: Just got the 5th email - from Supermart: Publix/Win Dixie & CVS/Walgreens too . . .

FUNNY - Just spoke with "My" Sister (Lives in CO) - Supposed to come down to FL to take a 4 day cruise with a friend in April (an visit overnight with "Me"). . . She told me that she has no intention of cancelling her cruise in any way - since the man in the white house and Government are doing so well to address the Pandemic . . .

When I was growing up liquor stores in Oklahoma were closed on Sundays. I would go with my Dad to see my grandfather on Sunday after Church. The reason for the visit was that the neighbor was the local bootlegger and Dad could go buy a pint of hooch.

It was the same way in PA/NJ (even bars were closed unless they served food) back in the day - however people would drive into NY or Maryland Ohio . . . AND - Here in FL even today some counties ban the sale of Liquor & Sex toys too . . .

When I was a kid, we lived for a time in a "dry County" .. in retrospect, it made no sense, since folks would just drive to the next County ..

In these parts, you can't buy a vehicle from a Dealer on Sundays .. which makes no sense to me either .. o_O

I'll say this .. my business has seen a bump in the last few days ..

"Hey, Willie, I don't know if you remember me, my Mom/Dad used to bring me in for lessons years ago .."
"Sure, Buddy, what can I do for you .. ??"
"Well, I've got the old guitar with me that I have not picked up in 20 years and I was wondering if you could give it the once over, check it out, see if it needs any work, etc ..??"
"Sure, Man, love to .."
"What does that normally cost .. ??"
"I get around $80-90 barring any unforeseen issues .. that includes a new set of quality strings in any gauge you like .."
"Well, with this Virus thing and all, it looks like I'll be having some more at home time with the Family, so, I thought I'd maybe get back into it .. so, great, let me bring it in, it's out in the car .."

It takes about an hour for me to check it out structurally, put on new strings, adjust the neck if needed check and adjust the string height if needed and give one a good buff with the buffer .. I'll take $80-90 clams an hour any day .. (minus the $3.00 bucks or so wholesale that strings cost) ..

A big 4 day cluster of dog shows Louisville has been canceled after 2 days. We packed up and heading home today.. So many shows canceled across the country, who knows when they will start again. Means no income for us other than web site orders until???

We are OK, but others not so much..

Morning, lizards.

Sheesh, been snowing here since Thursday night! The ground wasn't frozen, but may be now... although no real accumulation here, as the temps have been hovering a tad over freezing, and it's been melting almost as fast as its been coming down - only a couple inches remains while it still keeps falling. At least the time change gave us an extra hour of minimal heat from the wimpy March sun :)

Good morning! :)

@Anise prayers for your quick recovery.........

Virus has hit our state with 3 dead down South......so very sad! We're totally stocked up with non-perishable foods for quite a long while..............
Our son has a bidet in every bathroom in their home........so a few months back, I thought I'd try it......FAIL......didn't know how to work it, and water splattered all over the floor.......well, it was funny then, and we still laugh about it now.

Stay well, everyone, and remember to eat well so your immune systems stay strong!

Good morning/afternoon. Nothing going on here health-wise except normal allergies. I did have to do a search online for our microwave/rangehood. It quit beeping when the buttons are pressed. We had a power spike the other morning and I guess it wiped a bit of the memory. I found the owners manual online and it was just a matter of holding down the #2 button on the microwave touchpad for 5 seconds. It took pressing it twice for the beep sounds to return. Gotta love the internet when you can fix something yourself. I hope everyone stays safe and well.

Good afternoon everyone! I hope everyone has a good day today!

I'm starting to feel better. I have some stomach thing going on, not the Mexican beer virus. I should be back to bugging everyone more in a couple days. I've been missing y'all!

On our way home from Louisville, stopped at Chic Filet for lunch. Everything served packaged and in bags, no open tray serving. Condiment stations cleared, if you want anything you must ask the counter person or server who brings your food. Drink refills get a new cup.

O'Charley's for dinner - menus are 1 page printed on paper so they can throw them out after 1 use. Tables cleared of all condiments, salt, pepper.

I like the precautions, but it is adding to bottom line costs of food service. No telling how long this will last.

We won't be visiting my husband's 96 yr old mother for a few weeks. If anything happened to her after a visit from us we would be haunted for the rest of our lives. Won't be surprised is they limit visitors too.

It's a whole new world out there. We will go home and hunker down (thankfully we just bought toilet paper, kleenex and paper towels before we left). I will get my gardening done and my house will be spotless!

Geordi is with his breeder for this trip. She texted me that because we could be bringing the virus home and she wants to protect herself, husband (both ER nurses) and dogs, he will be quarantined at her house for 30 days.:lol::lol: I told her nope! Tie him out behind the barn and I will pick him up! All in jest, but she sure enjoys having Mr G around! I miss him! We miss him! Home tomorrow Mr G! I have a bunny toy for you .
