I feel bright as a butterfly! I've been rather low mentally and emotionally for a while now...heck, who hasn"t?!.....I sure hope that the sun is shining for all of you, too!

Tho my yard is now a swamp!

Glad I thought to put on my boots before I went out there to put back up the bird feeders!

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Hola .. :)

My two pals, the Hummingbird Duo, had been flittering around my living room window a few times, so, last Sunday, I broke out the feeder and cleaned it, filled it and hung it .. oddly, I have not seen that they have yet been back .. the feeder did have a bit of what looked like black mold in it, however, I was very meticulous in cleaning it ..

I suppose I'll take it down and try again ..

I have a suction cup device that I suction onto the outside window to hang it on, that way, when I'm sitting in the recliner, I can see them when they hit the sauce ..

Had a Tree Guy come by yesterday evening to bid on a large sweetgum in the front yard I decided to take out .. $850 clams including a stump grind was the best I could get him down to .. and that was cold hard cash ..

The Tree People make it coming and going .. cut down the trees during the Spring / Summer / Fall .. then, sell firewood in the Winter ..

20 years ago, I would have done it myself ..

Last month I saw 2 hummingbirds flitting around the 2 spots my feeders usually hang so I quickly made some hummer juice and got the feeders out. Didn't take them long to find it. So I'm thinking that since they knew where the feeders used to be they must have been here last year. Ha! Repeat customers! Maybe yours are too? Birds are amazing.

Tree work is expensive, but it can also be dangerous so it's a good idea to just bite the bullet and hire a professional. A few weeks ago some huge equipment showed up in our col de sac. There's a tiny stream and then the house with the owner of the property. Evidently he decided to remove all the scrub and tall trees - clean it all out. I can't imagine what that must have cost him or why he wanted it gone. Anyway, the HUGE crane came in, grabbed the tall trees and just pulled them out of the ground like it was a weed!! They had a huge chipper that chewed up the whole tree! Amazing. Now our nice secluded end of the road is wide open. One of the workers said the guy was talking about putting in a row of arborvitae. Hope he doesn't wait too long.

Good morning. It's a beautiful morning here. Kate and Brian are coming here today to open the pool. It's a bit early to do that, but if they're willing to do the work we're not going to argue! Poor Mike spent 3 days cleaning off the cover to get it bone dry so it can be removed. And then the T-storm came. Fortunately he was able to pump enough water off yesterday to allow the sun and breeze to do the rest. So today is the day! To reward our helpers I'm going to make a bunch of spare ribs, faux potatoes and a big salad. Given the horrible news everywhere it's going to be nice to spend the day with at least 1/2 our kids.

Good morning/afternoon all. The trip to the farm was productive yesterday. Got some mowing done both around the ponds and underbrush cleared in some of the wooded areas. I took time out and did a bit of fishing. No luck fishing but it was a spot of fun regardless. Did get some of the turtles cleared out of two of the ponds. My 17HMR is a popular rifle that everyone enjoys using. Steven has taken a real liking to my 22 rifle that I had modded out for Nancy. I changed out the original barrel with a Bull barrel and added a synthetic stock. I'm soon going to have to go to pick up some more ammo for both the 17 HMR and the 22s. Force me to have to go to Bass Pro or Cabelas. :D
I keep 2 Aegis Solos with Kayfun V3 Minis in rotation. Last night one of them was giving me the error about a short in the atomizer. It just started doing it after using it for a while. The coil has been in it for probably 2 months or so (probably more so). I removed the tank and also turned off the mod. The error remained no matter what I did. I put it aside and planned on making a new coil for it this morning. So this morning, after I had an infusion of caffeine, I took the tank off and put it on the Coil Master and checked the Ωs. No short detected and .51Ωs. It fired with no problems on the Coil Master. I removed it and put it back on the Solo. Fired and vaped just fine. I don't know what the problem was last night but I decided to change out the coil anyway. The new coil tested out at .48Ωs and I'm very happy with the vape. I figured there was no reason to take a chance with the old coil and getting the error again while out and about. I always carry a spare but why tempt fate? Now there is only about a week's difference in both tank coils so I should be good for a couple more months on the tanks.

Well, so much for the new coils working in the Solo. I came in from outside and was getting No Coil Detected on the Aegis Solo's tank that I put the new coil in. I tried again by removing the battery, turning it back on and still got the No Coil. I took the tank off and swapped it with the other Kayfun. No Coil Detected on the other tank. It appears I have a bad mod. I pulled one out of the stash drawer and put the tank on with a fresh battery. No problems with the Kayfun on the new Solo. I have marked the bad Solo and will see if I can figure out what the problem might be. I'm just guessing but wonder if the mod might be getting too hot and causing the error. At least I do have a couple of spares in my stash drawer.

Darn.

Maybe this would help, unfortunately not in English, but decent vid of dis-assembly for the same issue.

And the "abbreviated" and English condensation is

How do I fix no coil detected Aegis solo?
Aegis solo- coil not detected fix.
  1. Pull off front plastic over screen. It's taped down. ...
  2. 7 T4 screws. Remove second plastic screen.
  3. 3 T5 screws. 2 gold, 1 black.
  4. Slowly lift main board. Positive (red) and negative (blue) wires connected. ...
  5. You'll see where the blue wire came from. ...
  6. Place main board back and screw in.

Morning, loungers.
Soggy Sunday here, but we'll try to send it east tomorrow :)
:lol:Wishful thinking there pal. There's huge "filters" between east and west, that I think are there to stay. :p

It was 92 the other day, then 84, and today in the 80's.
We did have a thunder and lightening storm move through at 4 am the other day.
It lasted about 1 and a half hours.
Woke everyone in the house up, and gave one quick hard rain that lasted for 10 minutes.
Two hours later, the sun was out and everything was dry.
Didn't do a thing for the ground as far as moisture, but I loved the storm (not the cats) while it lasted.
Actually I wish we would get a good long ground soaking rain ... we need it.
Then I wouldn't have to water the garden, so often.
So, keep wishful thinking.

Good morning everyone

@Uncle Willie's post about hummers I thought I'd share this that I wrote years ago. I may have posted last year. Can’t remember.

“Depending on which part of the U.S. you live in hummingbirds should be in your area sometime between March and May so here is hummingbird feeding 101:

1. The formula is one part sugar ( not honey) to four parts hot water. You don't need to add food color.

2. The formula must be replaced every 3-4 days if the temperature is above 80 degrees. That's because at higher temps the formula can ferment.

3. Before refilling the feeder wash it with hot water and soap and rinse it well. The feeder can be soaked in a 10% bleach solution if molds grows on it. Be sure to rinse well.

4. The feeders can stay up until all hummers have left the area in the fall. It's not true that leaving the feeders up will stop them from migrating.

5. Please share this.

By the way if anyone is trying to attract hummers and hasn't seen any in the neighborhood, attach a big red plastic flower above the feeder or a large red plastic ribbon (plastic so it won't deteriorate in the rain). These often make it easier for hummers passing through to find the feeder.”

If anyone is interested in more wildlife info check out my FB page (same avatar and name). I designate these “public” so anyone can see them and share them.

Nah, the mountains just make it swirl around a bit as it funnels through the passes :)

We did get a bit over a half inch Saturday, a bit of drizzle yesterday, and maybe none today. Yeah, a day or so without needing to water is a boon this time of year!

Good morning! :)

It's pleasant outside this morning, but by noon that'll be another story.
We're just putzing in the garden and already have one green pepper almost ready to be harvested, but won't do that until it gets larger.
@Bea-FL all the Everglades have sprouted and should really take off now with the heat that they love!

Good morning. The sun is shining with blue skies here, but it looks warmer than it is. It's chilly out there! It's only 60 degrees! I had to change into my long pants. Not nice.

Isn't it exciting when the first veggies start to produce? I have a sun sweet tomato plant in the barrel planter on the deck and it has some little tomatoes on it! My mouth waters just thinking about fresh tomatoes!

Thanks David. I found the video and will try later to see if it is a loose wire.

Cold soldered connections do happen, so hopefully that's all it is. That the search for "... fail" came up with several hits on that at the top of the list, maybe grounds for hope!

Some time back I fixed a similar problem for a friend, different mod, same problems. While the boards are all, probably, machine / flow soldered, it might be human work on the final power leads. :nun:

oh boo and poo ... I never finished watching this one and now you went and made it private. Matter of fact when I went to your youtube channel looks like you removed or made private all the vids you posted here. Now I can't go back and watch them either. Not nice Uncle Willie.
