Good morning! Looks like a beautiful sunny day, but it's going to 87 today with high humidity. The kids have something planned for us today. They're coming at 10:30 to use the pool and will be bringing the food. They won't tell us any more than that.

Hola .. :)

Cheers to Janet and Mike .. :) .. you know, clnire (Cathy) posted a video and I have posted a whole series of my own insanity .. so, why not regale us all with a bit of a video message of your own .. ??

Our 50th is next June!

Happy Anniversary Janet and Mike. It is such joy to witness a long strong marriage. People who say marriage is easy have not truly witnessed a strong marriage. A marriage takes a lot of work but it also is a labor of love.

Thank you so much everybody. I still can't get my mind wrapped around it. Our daughter texted me a couple times yesterday asking what was a doing at that time 50 years ago. Our wedding day was a disaster so not many good memories there, but I figure everything went wrong that day so the next 50 years were pretty darn good.

Good morning. It's a beautiful morning after a storm blew through last night. We needed the rain, but I like having it rain at night and then having clear sunny days.

Yesterday was amazing. Our kids showed up with the little ones, 6 adults and 4 kids under the age of 5. Total chaos!! We all had such a good time hanging around the pool and preparing meals. We could have invited the neighbors with all the food they brought. Lobster tails, steak, marinated pork chops, chicken, an assortment of salads and roasted potatoes, assorted chips, a delicious cake and rice pudding. And then after pigging out on all that around lunchtime, we had burgers and dogs at 6:00. The little ones had a blast chasing each other and playing. I bet they all slept well last night, we sure did!

Morning, all.

All quiet on the western (WA) front.

We did get some rain yesterday, in spite (DEspite?) the 'cast that showed it all way north of Seattle. (We're way south.) Nice, since we didn't have to water anything outside.

Hmm, wasn't that a lyric from Camelot? ;) Nice if you can get it!

If you have HBO you should consider watching the mini series “Plot against America” if you haven’t already. Very appropriate and scary for what’s happening in our country at the moment. Here is the synopsis

"an alternate American history told through the eyes of a working-class Jewish family in Newark, New Jersey, as they watch the political rise of Charles Lindbergh, an aviator-hero and xenophobic populist, who becomes president and turns the nation toward fascism."

Another very good movie to watch is the 2019 Helen Mirren movie “The good liar”.

Hola .. :)

Nothing much to report .. I can't decide if I want to go to the DMV to renew my tags, they expire tomorrow, but there is no rush .. the State extended everyone's tags, license, etc till October .. (of course, when you renew, you won't get any Free Months, the tag will still be issued dated when yours expired) ..

We're up to $154 a year now on tag renewals .. highway robbery .. (no pun intended)

I'd second that on both counts .. :)

If it makes you feel better, when I lived in GA and went to register the first time, I had to pay over 600 on a 4 yr old car. They have a tax and if you don't buy your car in state, you get stuck paying the tax anyway. Upside was it only cost 20 for yearly renewals.

Swell. Keep the car for thirty years and you will just about break even.

Funny - Just had to renew my reg ($32.00 a year) & drivers license (every 8 years), this time had to go into DMV for the new "stared" ID . . . Have to make appointment and bring in Birth certificate, SS Card, and 2 items to prove where you live . . . Made an appointment a month before my birthday when it would expire . . . Went in and they refused to accept BC, because they could not read it after scanning the document - to old, cracked (which was tapped), & yellowed . . . What do Ya' expect after 50+ years . . . Had to get new one from state where I was born - $55 and 7 weeks later . . . Plus another $48 for the license - that will probably last longer then I will . . . ;)

    BTW: They forgave the late fees $15 . . . YEA - RIGHT ? ? ? Late fees ? ? ? What was the reason I was late ? ? ?

    Just Sayin' . . .
