Good morning
We still have a cloud clover here with the sun peeking its head a bit.

Tomatoes and peppers are coming along nicely and we had our first pepper.....so delicious and its time to harvest more....maybe tomorrow morning! We're growing several types of tomatoes; Roma, hybrid cherry, plum and thanks to @Bea-FL, everglade, which thrives in Florida heat......

Hola .. :)

Bea :: just as an FYI, I picked up that Greg Iles trilogy you recommended, 'Natchez Burning', etc .. at the used book store in paperback for $4.00 each .. some thick books .. in fact, I don't know if I've read books that thick since 'Game of Thrones' and the 'Outlander' series .. Sears Catalog ..

At any rate, I started on 'Natchez Burning' last night and was hooked within the first few pages .. Iles has a very lyrical, smooth pacing .. and, he sure as hell knows how to get a readers attention very, very quickly ..
Yes he does. I love the way he writes. I love all his books and his main character, Pen Gage. I thought it would take me For ever to read that book…and the other two…but no because other than making the bed, cooking dinner and watering orchids all I did was read!

I wish there was a fourth book.

So we just finished binge watching The Wire so what to do…what to do. Lots to choose from Showtime and HBO but we thought it was high time to get that free trial Month from Amazon so we can binge watch the six seasons of Bosch…another favorite character from Michael Connely's books. It’s weird to see the actor who plays Bosch's sidekick in this show as a good guy because in The Wire he was a drug dealer!

I doubt that we’ll keep Prime after that free month. A good deal at $12.99 but we just don’t need all three.

Hola .. :)

Restaurants are now open inside with limited seating and, apparently, limited menus .. I went to an Applebee's around 6:00 yesterday evening, then, after pulling into the parking lot, I decided to hit Cracker Barrel instead .. they were still kind of working out the kinks after being closed, but, all in all, did a pretty good job .. I had my usual, catfish filets, mashed potatoes, pinto beans and turnip greens, cornbread ..

After taking my seat, I noticed my table had no lamp on it, and, I like the lamps .. so, I got up and picked a lamp off another table .. come to find out, lamps were only on tables that were not to be used (there was a sign, too) .. no body said anything but I'm sure they moved the lamp after I left ..

Cleanliness wise, they had a person immediately going to each table as folks left and swabbing the whole thing down, chairs and all, with a disinfectant spray, no salt/pepper on the table, no coffee sugar, no puzzle game .. just an empty table, except mine, which had a procured lamp .. ;)

Good morning,
Not much going on in my neck of the woods, and that's fine with me. Having a lot of on line meetings with my groups and that has kept me pleasantly busy......housework......eh, it's been hit or miss these days but I do keep up with the necessities; heavy stuff can wait till I feel like doing heavy stuff! ;)

Hope you all are faring well and keeping the faith!

Same at the denny's I frequent. It's frustrating to have to wait outside, though, especially when 3/4 of the tables are empty. Till recently, it was takeout or delivery service only. Pain in the neck, but I can't believe how smoothly and well organized it was.

Good morning!

Sun is out, and taking advantage of the coolness out here while I can!

Today our Church is open for Exposition from 9 to 4, so that makes a lot of folks here happy, including myself! We were given a choice to commit to one hour, or come at any time within the allotted hours. I chose the latter!

Will be including all of you in my thoughts and prayers!

Good morning Gracie. Gonna be a hot one today. 94 with 81% humidity. It's going to be a pool day for the kids. We're just doing burgers and dogs and a tomato pie so hopefully it won't be too chaotic in the kitchen.

@Uncle Willie, we went to dinner at the Olive Garden last weekend and were surprised that the menu was so small. Yep, no extras on our table either. I guess the kitchen workers were happy because they weren't inundated with orders. The place is usually packed. Makes me wonder how they can make money with all the empty tables and the waitstaff can't be making much with so few tables to serve.

Hola .. :)

Funny you should mention Denny's .. I hit my favorite Denny's yesterday for dinner .. $8.00 value menu, same set up as Cracker Barrel, pretty much .. disposable paper menus, too .. they were also still working out the kinks and somehow my order got dropped out of whatever system they use .. I think it's computer based, not the old "clip the paper on the rotating wheel" ..

At any rate, it took an hour to get the food .. people came in after me and had been served and left before I got mine .. I did get a bit irate .. Manager comped the meal, I left my waitress a nice tip anyway .. not her fault ..

The place was the cleanest I had ever seen it ..

I'm beginning to wonder if I have been so "indoor restaurant food deprived" that I am now just making the rounds .. o_O

Good Morning/Afternoon all. The summer heat is in place. Things are going well so I really can't complain, yet. HBO has a special going on with their HBO Max. I went online yesterday and paid my bills and while on the DirecTV website I saw the latest HBO offer, 3 months free. HBO does have some of the movies and series I enjoy so I couldn't resist the free offer. Now to sit down and binge-watch John Wick.
I had a Dr appointment on Wednesday so since I was out I went to a local mall and visited one of my favorite stores. I visited the LEGO store and picked up the kit for the International Space Station. I think it will do nicely next to the NASA Apollo 11 Lunar Lander. I had hoped that I could find the Saturn V rocket but found out that it is a retired product. Day late and a dollar short. I was also wanting to pick up some individual pieces but they had the wall covered up. The clerk said that they couldn't figure out a way to open that section so it is closed for the time being. Oh well!
I hope everyone has a good day and a happy 4th of July holiday.
