Well, I just got around to starting the charge on the batteries ..
I'll say a few things .. an Expert advised me to warsh the tank with mild soapy water, rinse and let dry .. that was a good idea, since my Zlide did exhibit machine oil residue in spots .. I disassembled the tank, removed the coil and glass piece and warshed .. let air dry ..
Reassembled the tank with a 1.6 ohm coil from the new ones I bought, since there was no 1.6 in the box .. after dripping 4 liquid drops in the new coil .. at first, I saw a small gap on the top screw in piece and noticed the coil was not touching the other end, opened it up and realized I had not pushed the coil down enough ..
Zlided the top open and carefully filled about 1/2 of the visible window .. it's a good thing I have those needle like tips on my liquid bottles ..
This tank really holds some liquid compared to an EVOD .. as well, you'd think you were buying a Rolex the way they pack these things .. I almost broke out my Swiss Army knife to cut the box open ..
Physically, the piece is well crafted, quite heavy, almost like a very good firearm ..
So far, so good ..
I will be soliciting info probably tomorrow on setting the PV .. no rush .. heck, I never really expected to have all the goods this quick ..
16GA needle for wrapping the coils if I remember right, it's been awhile.
You are some kinda slow. Guess I’ll have to grit my teeth and wait till tomorrowWell, I just got around to starting the charge on the batteries ..

Yes, they can be rebuilt. I rebuilt them for years. Even figured out how to rebuild when I first had my thumb injury! I have about 50 new Evods myself, but I am hanging on to them because ya never know what will happen. I have moved to reliable rebuildables, but if I don't need the Evods some day, perhaps I can help someone in the future....Good point .. I'm leaning toward keeping the the EVODS and the coils anyway, since who knows what the future may hold .. I also have several large medication bottles filled with old coils that got to the point where they could not be re-wicked, but I saved them anyway .. Cathy (clnire) told me a long time ago that they can be recoiled ..
I use a 16 gauge needle, 30 gauge wire. I tried one of the coils wrapper devices but built on a 16 gauge needle for so long it would take me a whole new learning curve to be able to use a device. Even my rebuildable tanks, I wrap on a 5/64 screwdriver (from a dollar store set of screwdrivers) and moved to 29 gauge wire because that's what I am used to. Even with my bad thumb, I can wrap a better coil on a needle or a screwdriver.16GA needle for wrapping the coils if I remember right, it's been awhile.
Thanks, I thinkIt's rare I actually chuckle when reading a post .. you did it, congratulations ..![]()
Look at the batteries closer. You can tell one end from the other. When all three lights are solid your batteries are charged......more waiting.Hola ..
I think I put the batteries in the charger wrong .. I've never seen a battery that does not have positive / negative markings .. I just left them in the charger overnight and when I got back in this AM, the 3 LEDS on each battery slot were blinking yellow .. took the batteries out and put them on the meter and they are around 3 volts .. put them back in the charger the other direction and the LEDS are solid on the first / blinking on the second, nothing on the third ..
Live and learn ..
Ya learn something new every day.Well, I think it's pretty stupid that a battery maker would not clearly indicate the + / - sides, I mean, that ought to be a law .. yesterday, I put the end that's flat on the + and the end that kind of looks like a button on the - .. the charger lights were blinking, which I figured meant the durn things were charging .. that's what other chargers do ..
