I’m sorry you can’t have the flowers you would love to have.Seems there’s always some problem living with others.

I’m not looking forward to winter at all.
It is hard since I once grew over 1200 roses. Now I have about 10 and I have thought of dumping them. I brought some into the house once, never do that again. A tiny bug crawled out and everyone freaked.

I've never known anyone that freaked out about bugs. I'm sorry you can't have something you obviously enjoy so much.:(

I'm sorry you had to give up your roses. I had to make changes in what I plant, but it's because of my knees and the fact that I just can't handle the heat anymore. Changes, always changes.

It's a shame your family is so fearful of bugs. People wouldn't be able to live without them. They serve their purpose in the world and can be quite interesting. I don't want them crawling/flying in my house either, but a little bug here or there isn't a big deal. Now what'll really freak me out is the big wolf spiders or the thousand leggers. Eeeeeeeek!!

@Janet H Iniko's mom disappeared last May but his dad has been taking care of him.

I too have to make changes in my gardening because I cannot bend down or kneel anymore. But I have my greenhouse and the orchids grow up high and on benches so that works for me.

    Good morning everyone!
I had to give up my garden because of health reasons. I still miss it.

Its currently 85 with a high of 95 predicted. That doesn't count the humidity. The weatherman should just say its hot and going to get hotter.

You and Fran are having cold weather. Fall is in the air here but it is still hot in the daytime, cooler at night. I hate to see summer go.
Me too! I can complain about the heat, but never wish for winter. In winter, I seriously wish for summer.

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Only 17 days til Autumn begins so I have to start thinking about where in the world I'm going to put all the deck plants when I have to move them inside.

    Hola .. :)

Yeah, I have been thinking about that myself .. I have a potted Yucca that, with pot, is now taller than me and I'm 6' .. not only is it heavy, but those leaves are sharp .. my deck plants always look so nice when they are, er, on the deck .. but, when it comes time to move them inside, it's a pain in the neck, back and knees .. and then, I have to move them all out again the next year ..

Maybe I should start a Bonsai hobby ..

Maybe just a better way to move them inside would be better?

Well - Depending on the size of the plant - be it small or larger - one of these might work:

plant stands with wheels - Google Search

They did for me when I had plants in my apartment - had a huge ficus tree on a heavy duty one and it help move the tree when I NEEDED to . . .

yep! We use both for the few potted plants we have now. We have to wheel them in the garage when we have night temps that are too cold for them. A Bird-of-Paradise that is about 3-4' tall and wide and a ficus tree that is about 6' tall.

77 with 99% humidity this morning (8 am)according to our outside thermometer (in the shade on the deck). At 4 pm, when Geordi wants to go play, it was 102, 50% humidity (per thermometer, that's not "feels like"). Needless to say, we train in the morning when my training yard is all shaded and just goof around in the afternoon, unless a storm comes through and cools off the temps. If the rain comes too early, it is still too hot and humid. We both wilt quickly.
