Meet Me in St Louie Louie
We managed to get the new refrigerator we wanted last week (lucked out). It's now sitting in my dining room while the new oven is in the living room.

Hola .. :)

No one probably remembers that my main Living Room TV went out a while back .. however, I parked a 42" bedroom set on an outdoor side table in the meantime and disposed of the old TV .. waited for Amazon Prime Day in order to use the $550 in Amazon gift cards that had been given to me by various people over the last few years or so .. the TV I wanted was $1200, so I almost have half in gift cards .. but, being the cheapskate that I am, I refused to pay full price and Amazon did not even have the dignity to put that set on sale .. :(

Flash forward to the Walmart "Days of Deals" that had it's first day last week, where they had a 65" 4K no-name brand for $228 .. starting at the stroke of 6:00 PM .. so, I said, what the heck, I'm usually in the recliner by that time anyway, so I booted up the laptop and went to the sale page .. website crashed .. it was back up in a few minutes, so I took a shot and eureka, I snagged one .. (should have tried for 2 or 3, since I could probably sell them for $400) ..

Picked it up Sunday evening, they only gave 48 hours from notification before they would cancel the order ..

Had a neighbor help getting it in the house .. unboxed it Monday and put the feet on .. then, I had to modify my TV credenza since the legs on the new TV were practically at the end of the TV and my credenza was not wide enough ..(old TV had a center pedestal type stand ..) .. still getting it set up and tweaked .. so far so good .. had been still watching the 42" as I dealt with the giant spaghetti of wires from the old set .. the new unit has ROKU built in, so that was a plus, I did not need my old outboard ROKU .. still, running a Blu Ray player, Cable TV, a computer input and a surveillance system gets tricky .. all through a surround sound system ..

I'm still going to get the 75" TV that I want, I'll just be patient .. then, I'll use this 65" for the surveillance system or relegate it to a spare bedroom ..

The good news is, the $228 Walmart TV has no right to look as good as it does .. just hope it holds up .. but hey, if you can get 3 years out of it, that's not bad ..

Being a Video and especially Audio nut, I once had a house guest that asked me "Willie, have you got the bridge of the Enterprise in here somewhere .. ??" .. "Why yes, I think so, just give me a minute to find it .." ..

Good morning. It's a dreary morning here in the 50s. Daytime temps next week will be in the 40s. 127 days until Spring!

In other news. Our daughter sent us this picture of what happened to a tomato she bought at the grocery store. I've seen seeds sprouting when I've cut into a tomato, but never saw this! Very creepy!

Heck ... I told her to burn it not just put it in the trash. Looked like it could be some alien creature's that used that tomato as a cocoon and now there's hatching. Destroy it before they take over the world.

This year, why not bag a nice Holiday Pandemic Mask .. ?? Not only will it serve to show the public at large your Holiday spirit, but, you can stash it away as a keepsake of 2020 .. :p

No thanks, I don't want any reminders of this year. We just had to cancel a double birthday party for Brian (SIL, Nov 12) and Michael (Son, Nov 14) on Sunday. Michael and his family were exposed to Covid when they visited his wife's family. Now he and his family are in a self-imposed 14 day lockdown. Fingers and toes crossed that they don't get it.

Good morning everyone! :)
I'm thinking about visiting a friend today. She doesn't drive so I have to go see her if we want to get together. Its great being able to drive after 3 years of being a passenger. I'm still a little nervous if I have to drive too far but I'm working past that.

I'm still lurking. RL is a pain in the .... - literally! We had an invasion of yellow jackets in the house and one got me in the backside! A quick call to pest control solved that problem. They're coming back on Monday to plug the hole and do a house inspection for other problems (mice in the basement).

We managed to get the new refrigerator we wanted last week (lucked out). It's now sitting in my dining room while the new oven is in the living room. The installer is booked until after Thanksgiving. It takes a few extra steps to get milk for coffee in the morning and we've found some work arounds for the old oven that seem to keep it from throwing errors too often. We're muddling along.

A belated Happy Birthday to @FranC . Best to all of you too!

Oh my, you weren't planning on having Thanksgiving dinner at your house were you? At least the fridge and oven are working, but it seems to be a long time for the installer to come out. Hopefully things will go well for him and he'll get to you sooner than he planned.

@Anise Even though I've not been posting regularly, I read your post and felt sad. No one should feel that they are unwelcome here........long time member or not.......I find you to be so delightful and your posts are upbeat!

We've been busy around here taking care of our Abby since she got sick again......this time pancreatitis is suspected! Doc is cautiously optimistic that it is a bacterial infection, so scripted antibiotics and pain meds. My heart cracks when I see her in pain, although it has diminished quite a bit. Boiled chicken breast and white rice or oatmeal is the menu for our furbaby these days. Her appetite has started to increase so it's a bit easier to camouflage the meds, otherwise I just open her mouth, put the med deep in her mouth, hold her nose, and massage her throat gently till she swallows. Sounds horrible, but it must be done.

Aww, poor Abby.

Good morning everyone! :)

Oh my, 3 years, no wonder you're nervous. Good for you getting back in the saddle again. I know how weird it feels to get behind the wheel if I haven't driven in a few weeks! Anyway, I hope you have a nice visit with your friend.

Good morning, All! So far the day is going well for me. I have the Jeep loaded and I'm about ready to head out to the farm. I picked up a "brush blade" for my weed-wacker so I'm going to use it to cut down the sticker bushes around the ground blind and paths leading to the tree stands. The arbor was only 20mm so with some Kentucky ingenuity I was able to get it to fit. I hope everyone has a good day.
Oh, @Janet H, I used your recommendation and tried getting the acorns rounded up with the blower attachment. I haven't used the blower attachment very much so needless to say I was surprised at the power that thing has. It not only got the acorns in the bare spots, but I was also able to blow the acorns and small sticks into one area for picking up and bagging the leaves, acorns, and small sticks. I would have sworn that it didn't have that much blowing power. Thanks for the recommendation.

Good afternoon everyone! :)
Yesterday afternoon a squirrel got in my family room. I'm not sure how it got in but my cats were slacking sleeping in the bedroom while I threw things at the squirrel trying to chase it out of the house. Wish I had gotten a picture!
Then last night I cut the palm of my hand. At first we thought i might need stitches because it wouldn't stop bleeding. Finally got it stopped and when I checked it today it didn't look that bad. I got lucky.

    Good morning everyone! :)

It's currently 60 with a high of 70 and low of 43. Its cold! I know for you northerners it's considered warm but for those of us in the deep south anything under 70 is considered cold!

I would love to have 60. Our high for the day is 48.

We're currently at 52º and even to a northerner it feels cold ... just not as cold as it will be in a few months.
