Good morning, All. The weather is supposed to be good today, high of 68° and a low of 33°. I'm not sure what it is outside other than sunny and a bit cool. Light jacket type of morning.

Good morning everyone! :)

It's currently 60 with a high of 70 and low of 43. Its cold! I know for you northerners it's considered warm but for those of us in the deep south anything under 70 is considered cold!

I know what you mean by being cold in the south. I lived in Deweyville, TX for 3 years and I loved it there except for the heat & humidity in the summer.

I hope everyone has a good day and stays safe.
It isn't all work on the farm, ya gotta have some fun. This was captured on one of the trail cams. I've been asked why I carry a sidearm when working on the property. This is one of the reasons, here is another pic the trail cam caught that is set up next to my ground blind. Wiley Coyote has been seen both day and night not mention his friends the black bear, bobcats, and mountain lions we have found tracks for.

Good afternoon! I know it's almost 1:00, but I've been up since 6:00 - honest!

We had our daughter and her 2 boys here overnight Sat. night. Man, 2 year old Brody must have been abducted by aliens and replaced by a little brat! He's suddenly gotten fresh and whiney and screams at the drop of a hat. Kate went out for a 20 minute walk with her 4 year old and he screamed the whole time she was gone! Who is this kid? We know it's a phase, but she's scared to death this might be his personality forever. That's not going to happen, but the thought is very scary.

Oh, @Janet H, I used your recommendation and tried getting the acorns rounded up with the blower attachment. I haven't used the blower attachment very much so needless to say I was surprised at the power that thing has. It not only got the acorns in the bare spots, but I was also able to blow the acorns and small sticks into one area for picking up and bagging the leaves, acorns, and small sticks. I would have sworn that it didn't have that much blowing power. Thanks for the recommendation.

Wasn't sure it would work on the acorns, but I'm glad it did because it's a lot easier than raking! Glad you tried it!

Good afternoon everyone! :)
Yesterday afternoon a squirrel got in my family room. I'm not sure how it got in but my cats were slacking sleeping in the bedroom while I threw things at the squirrel trying to chase it out of the house. Wish I had gotten a picture!
Then last night I cut the palm of my hand. At first we thought i might need stitches because it wouldn't stop bleeding. Finally got it stopped and when I checked it today it didn't look that bad. I got lucky.

OMG! In your family room? Those little critters are fast! Glad you got him out. They can cause a lot of damage inside a house and you don't want them clashing with your cats.

Oooh, be careful with that cut on your hand. Hand cuts can so easily get infected. No washing dishes for you for a bit!

Good morning. 27o this morning! Brrrr. Mike is going for his eye exam and I'm going with him so the eye shop can adjust my glasses. I'm having to hold them up so I can read. My neighbor bought 2 rotisserie chickens and cleans the meat off. She saves the carcass and scraps for me so I'll be making some chicken stock today. Hopefully Mike will look around for some more stuff to throw out-that's always a good thing. Our high today is only going to be 48 so it's not a good day to putz outside.

Morning, all.

A balmy 44 atm, heading for 50. A wet 50. :) Snow quite a bit higher up, no worries. Yet.

Pat trims everything off the chicken, makes a pot pie. Actually pretty quick and easy, since these days she just uses premade pie crusts. Good stuff, and, for the two of us, at least a couple days from the one effort. Definitely a win!

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Hola .. :)

Rented a Bissell carpet shampoo machine at Lowes Sunday and have spent the last 2 days shampooing the , er, carpet .. I was thinking about getting new carpet, especially in the living room, but, I figured why not give it a try ..

You can bag a $7.00 coupon off rental at the Bissell site, so the machine cost me $24.00 for 24 hours .. I used Oxyclean carpet shampoo, available in concentrate at Walmart for $14.00 ..

In a few high traffic areas, it took several passes to extract maximum dirt .. the Bissell machine uses very little solution when you shampoo, so the carpet dries pretty quick ..

Left the ceiling fans on all night along with a couple box fans, carpet felt dry yesterday morning .. sun comes in from the East in the morning, so Monday morning I got up early and it was easy to spot any areas that might need another going over .. I also had bought a carpet rake from Amazon, which is used to fluff up the fiber .. raked it out and went over the areas that looked like they needed more work ..

Voila, by this morning, the carpet looked .... and span .. so, I vacuumed it slowly with my Dyson .. it now looks great .. :thumb:

My only regret was not getting some of those things you put under furniture legs that allow you to move stuff around more easily ..

And my back is paying me twice over for that ..

I'd be really impressed if I hadn't seen pictures of your home theater and the lovely job you did on your kitchen and deck. A lot of guys would just replace the carpet if they noticed it was dirty - and that would only be if it was dirty enough to look like you've been doing car engine work on it.

High praise, indeed .. especially coming from a Woman :) .. but, don't forget, I'm a tight wad, too .. I figured, well, if I can't get it as clean as I want it over a 24 hour rental that cost me $38 bucks and time, oh well, off to look at new carpet ..

Part of my home has the Berber Carpet .. which I regret putting in .. in the hall, there had to be a splice and I've had to have a Carpet Person come by twice over the years, since when vacuuming, if there is a shred of fiber that can get caught in the vac, it will and pull out a strand of the weave leaving an unsightly line .. fortunately, I had extra carpet ..

True Story ::

Back in the 1970's, when I was with my second wife, we rented a very large house on 5 acres .. the living room was big and tall enough to play basketball in with a huge fireplace you could roast a pig in ..

At any rate, after the lease was signed and we started to move in, we took a closer look at the high knap shag carpet and realized it was badly matted .. so, like brushing tangles out of hair, we took to it using metal garden rakes .. over two days and an ample supply of a certain substance, we revitalized that carpet to the point that it looked pretty durn good ..
