I hope everyone had a merry Christmas and that the New Year is better than 2020 (it almost has to be better!)
Good early (for me!) morning..
I'm usually sleeping around 10:00 or 11:00...last night I didn't fall asleep until around 3:00 a.m. and I was awake at 6:00 a.m.!
I'll probably nap all afternoon!

Hola .. 
Lounged around yesterday and felt no guilt about it .. made a very nice potato casserole from, er, potatoes, ham cubes, crumbled bacon, a goodly amount of shredded cheddar, a whole stick of butter, some milk, some sour cream, chives .. rewarded myself with a very good bottle of wine (it had a cork, that's my criteria ..)
Settled in for "Soul" on Disney+, which, although an animation, had an excellent message for all ages .. Started "Wonder Woman 1984" about 7:00 PM on HBO MAX, it was very good .. how can you not like a beautiful Woman dressed in skimpy gladiator gear that owns a "Lasso of Truth" .. ?? There were a few glitches since I'm sure a goodly portion of America was watching it as well ..
I had gotten maybe 6 or 7 actual Christmas Cards, and, per my tradition for many years, opened them on Christmas Day .. two had come from some long lost relatives in the Old Country ..

Good afternoon everybody. It's a sunny 28 degrees here today. It's going to be a quiet day since daughter and kids went home. Christmas Eve was interesting when an awful 50 mph gusty wind and hard rain storm went through. It woke up both kids at 2:00 a.m. Tears, wailing and thrashing about ensued for the next hour. Finally we all got back to sleep.
The boys think Christmas is happening on Monday when their Dad finally gets home so we had an UnChristmas yesterday. Of course Hux was surprised to find that the Elf on the Shelf followed him here! Not only that, but he left a present for him and his brother under the tree! He couldn't wait for little brother to wake up so he could tell him all about it. So cute! My friend from Massachusetts told me her 3 year old grandson threw the Elf in the trash because he had enough of being watched all the time.
Today is a day of rest and quiet. Maybe next weekend when we all get together it'll really feel like Christmas.

I'm headed out shortly to our local craft store that's supposed to have the hard sided wreath storage containers on sale. I only bought 1 a few years ago and have only seen them once since for $25. Whoa. Just saw them on sale for $12 so I'm sure they'll sell out fast. Gotta go now!

More rain here, although said to be tapering off later today. For a few hours... and temps still mid 40s!

I'm back with 3 wreath containers! It's so annoying to buy an expensive wreath or the supplies to make one only to have it get crushed when packing it away. It was so nice this year to take out my pretty wreath for over the fireplace and have it still look as lovely as it did last year when I bought it. Now I can pack it away and use one of the containers to pack up the matching garland decorations. At the moment the beautiful Fall wreath is living on a lampshade in the living room so now it can be safely packed away too. I've only seen these at Christmas, but people have wreaths all year long.

this cartoon reminded me why we stopped putting up Christmas trees. For several years in a row we had young cats at Christmas time and they just adored the tree.

Another dark day and the little bit of snow is now gone....but we're supposed to get some this evening.
I'm a "northener" from birth so I'm used to snow starting around at least Nov.! So when it's gloomy the white snow seems to make it a little brighter outside.

Durn, I was in one of the Church Thrift stores last week and they had a 2 foot tall stack of these things for .50 cents each .. I did not even know what they were and asked one of the ladies ..
I'm paying the price for yesterdays "Weed, Whites and Wine" .. minus the Whites, of course ..
On Essential Oils and the use of a Diffuser ::
These little bottles are frustrating .. you really have to pound out the oil into the diffuser sometimes .. then, I get to the near end of a bottle, I can hold it up to the light and see it still has liquid in it, yet it won't come out .. so, I end up taking the plastic dropper cap off and pouring what's left into the diffuser ..
Why they don't make these with an eye dropper insert beats me .. especially as expensive as some are ..

We've been so lucky. Most people say they have trouble with the Christmas tree and their cats. For some reason both of ours totally leave the tree alone 5 minutes after sniffing around it. Same with the artificial pencil tree we have up now. If I was a cat I surely would be climbing around inside of it!
I agree! And sometimes while trying to shake in a drop several drops come out and then the smell is overpowering! By-the-way, Mike got me one for Christmas. It's the tree one that you liked. It's quite nice!

My cat Dax has started biting us for fun. I feel like this dog!!
Huh. How old is Dax? Could it be due to a tooth problem?
Its possible. He's either 13 or 14. When he got his shots this year his teeth were fine but its been 5 months. He's not biting anything else, just a leg or an arm then he races off like his tail is on fire.
