Morning, all.

Yeah, crazy roll-out everywhere, and worse now due to weather caused shipping delays. But only an hour's notice to come get stuck? I guess I could understand that if it were a case of a broken freezer and needing to use it up before going bad, but, uh...

No news from our HMO, so I guess we're still ok for tomorrow's dose. So far.

Still decent weather here, as long as one is ok with rain. No shovel needed, I'm fine with that!!

Whoa, I just checked our county website for the C19 shot. There are 59,628 people ahead of us! Yikes! I'm sure some of those people have been able to get their shots elsewhere so by now that number has to be lower, but still...

Hola .. :)

This goes back to my initial grousing over the roll out organization .. I did not want to attempt to join multiple "lines", having already been placed on the VA list .. I felt like I was taking someone else's space .. yet, ultimately, decided to go for it .. and won, fairly quickly ..

To me, the problem lays within those that get in for the vaccine, and then neglect to cancel any and all other sign ups, thus creating an artificially long list .. and, making new sign ups feel buried in the length ..

I just continue to feel like the World's Most Advanced Country, could and should do better .. this type of issue is exactly what the Internet was designed for .. as well, in Mike's scenario of an hour notice, I guess they never heard of texting ..

On the other side of the coin, there are areas of the USA that are underserved with the tech .. there are old folks that are not tech savvy .. I have no idea what the plan is to somehow reach those factions of the populace ..

I'll edit this to include the Homeless, the Nomads, (yes, there are nomads)

I chalk a lot of that up to not having a national plan, leaving it in the hands of each State and Territory to figure out on their own. 50+ chances to screw it up, and it seems most have.... so any "plans" are ad hoc responses with very little (apparently) coordination.

Yes, nomads, homeless, net-less. Maybe the pop-ups do have a use?

Well, I don't disagree .. and that goes back to the beginning of the Pandemic when you know who was calling the "shots" .. it was known from the get go there would be a vaccine .. there was plenty of time to get a good plan put together .. but, yes, the Governors could have worked out something much more consistent within themselves ..

I like to call the next segment, "Sharing is Caring" ..

Back in the heyday, regular Google Hangouts were kind of the norm, and we got to know each other better .. now, even during the Pandemic, when I was making a fool out of myself on video's, no one ever took the bait on doing some Zoom or whatever .. I thought it was sad, but oh, well ..

Here's Patrick / 2legs on a Hangout, along with some thumbnails, one of which is Johnny and yours truly .. we used to gather up a pretty good crew ..

The following was a not to long ago visit to Cracker Barrel .. like I say, always always constant reminders of the State of the Union ..

I was in a Burger King that was briefly open. Table tent said something like "Throne is not in service" So, I put it back in service. I later decided it meant I should not use that table because of social distancing. Some things are just too cryptic for me.

Good morning. It's 18 outside at the moment and going up to 36. At least the sun is shining. We're going to our son's house for a birthday party for the 4 year old. The 4 boys play so well together so they're really looking forward to it.

The info on our county list says that if you get your shot someplace else you're automatically taken off the county list so there must be some kind of database. How well that's working is anybody's guess.

What would a national plan look like? Congress people can't handle their own lives let alone the whole country. Everyone knew for months that a vaccine was coming and distribution was going to be complicated so it's not like they didn't have time to plan. "Distribution of FDA-authorized vaccines begin 24 hours after the Emergency Use Authorization. The first deliveries of COVID-19 vaccines began December 14, 2020. State and local health departments have the best information about when, where, and how to get a COVID-19 vaccine in your area." Obviously there wouldn't be enough vaccine for everybody right away and I have no idea how it's determined which state gets how much vaccine, but I'd hope it's by population and that the state and local health departments would understand their own population make-up in their particular region so it's up to us to hold them responsible if we don't like how they're handling distribution.

Actually Willie...I don't understand why the "hang-outs" died...I've tried to get a few folks to join me lately...but it hasn"t happened...you'd think that, with being so isolated this past year or so, folks would love to do a face-to-face visit....maybe it's just me...

I just remembered... a couple of folks DID try...but at that time I was too sickly to join... my apologies

Good morning. I'm all washed and dressed to go to the crackpractor and looked out the window - there's a blizzard happening out there! AccuWeather said it should stop by 1:30 and then we'd have rain. Hmmm, the other day they said the morning snow showers wouldn't last long. They lasted 7 hours... So, looks like we're staying in today. I'm counting our blessings though, we don't live in Texas.

25 days until Spring!

Morning, all.

50s and soggy here, although the rain didn't really start until late yesterday, despite their claims.

Our HMO did another outstanding job of assembly line injections. My usual procedure, being 45 minutes from anywhere, is to allow plenty of time. So, of course, every light was green, and we got there about a half hour early. No long lines out the door, so, what the heck, let's try to check in. Yup, no problem, head back, one in front of us, for about 30 seconds, then our turn. The mandatory wait and watch took longer

Other than the sore arm, pretty typical I hear, no other side effects so far. (Pfizer) Not even the slight warmish feel we had for a couple hours after the first. Color us relieved :)
