Hola .. :)

Snow on the ground still there, got another dusting this AM .. still below freezing highs, but relief in sight ..

I took everyone's advice and continued looking for the vaccine .. the Stars aligned yesterday and I scored an 8 AM appointment for the Pfizer one, tomorrow .. and second one in 21 days .. they told me on the phone which one it would be, don't know if that's common ..

Just to be on the safe side, I have not yet called the VA to take me off their list, will wait till I go tomorrow and then call ..

It's a cryin' shame that my 90 year old Aunt Anita in Myrtle Beach has still been unable to even obtain an appointment ..

I truly hope all of you get in soon, just keep trying ..

Everyone knows that paper cuts are the worst.
Good morning, all. I'm that I went to bed at a decent time last night. The cat had just woke me up when Syndee knocked on my door. She needed me to move the Jeep because the Dodge was stuck in the driveway and she was afraid she would hit the Jeep because the Dodge was sliding and almost against the Jeep. My Jeep can be a bit of a chore getting into and out of and I would NOT recommend trying to crawl into the driver's seat via the passenger door. Being a fat man is not easy at times. Anyway, I started the Jeep, put it in 4-wheel low, and crawled out of the driveway. Syndee, although a little late, left for work. Now to see what I want to do for the day.

Yes, smart. Make sure you actually do get the shot, and the second scheduled, before cancelling other options!

We just learned on our county site that we signed up there on 2/16. They're now working on people who signed up on 2/13 so unless one of the other places we signed up at comes through it's probably going to be another couple weeks before we get an appointment. A woman I know in FL got her 2nd shot yesterday and said by the evening she felt like she'd been run over by a truck. Fever, chills etc. even with Tylenol. She didn't react like that with the first one. Isn't it weird to be anxiously waiting to get a shot that's going to make us sick?

I guess the reaction to the shot (at least the Pfizer) is a very individual thing. I got my first on the 10th and had no reaction at all. Also, totally pain free, this probably is probably more related to the injectionist than the shot itself. Wait for the shot; lose the 'anxiously'.

Speaking as a former Army Medic, you are absolutely correct .. I just hope I don't get a real rookie tomorrow .. I'd just as soon administer myself ..

Dropped the Aegis Solo with ZLIDE on the concrete floor at the work shop earlier .. examined it / took a hit, all seemed to be OK .. later, tried to fill the tank and the ZLIDE would not, er, ZLIDE .. freaked for a minute ..

Took the durn thing apart and discovered that a tiny shred of drip tip had apparently been knocked off on the drop and was jammed in the ZLIDE ZLIDER ..

Weirdly accidental .. works fine now .. I can't even remember if the tank came with any extra drip tips .. I suppose I should get a few ..

I'm going to order 3 or 4 of those Zenith tanks that Mike found on sale .. just need to beef up my order enough to get the free freight ..

I'm not an anti-vaccer, however, initially, I had about decided I would wait .. then, I changed my mind and decided I wanted it ASAP .. probably because it did not seem like there was any risk .. or, the benefit outweighed any risk ..

I read an article this AM that claimed the 1st dose is still pretty effective even if you don't get the second dose ..

We do have some extra drip tips so I've been using a plastic one in my Solo. I dropped the Solo on our tile floor, but it didn't look like there was any damage. Later I removed the drip tip to fill it and, same thing, the Zlide wouldn't slide. A perfect circle of the bottom of the plastic drip tip was left inside! Must have happened when it dropped. I'd been vaping on it all day with no issues. Oh well, something to be aware of.

Hey, thanks for the Pfizer article. Makes sense to me. I was wondering about how effective the first one was and how they knew the 2nd was needed 28 days later. I thought of the 2nd shot as insurance, but how would they know? It hasn't been around long enough to know.

Maybe, maybe. If it's there when my second appointment comes around, I do believe I will get it, anyway.

Oh, I definitely am going to get the 2nd shot. My quandary wasn't so much about how safe the vaccine was or even how effective it is, but how they know we should get a 2nd shot and why 28 days? It's nice to know the 1st shot is so effective. There's always a small percentage of vaccines that don't "take" so the 2nd shot is a good thing.

The guy who gave us our first vaccine said to expect flu-like symptoms for a couple days. He said most people have them.

CDC also says the first vaccine gives us about a 50% protection and the second one protects 95% but about a week later. They still recommend masks for the foreseeable future.

Got a new phone today. Gawd I hate this! Relative easy transfer of all data. But actually getting apps to work again! Sign ins, password? Ha! Yea, like I remember. I do keep a file with passwords, but some apps make you keep changing them. Did I update my list?

Got most things working, thankfully my ECF login was saved and came through! Amazon is another matter. Will be calling customer service tomorrow. Can't get into Kindle nor Amazon. It has been a frustrating afternoon /evening.

    Tomorrow is another day.

Yes, Cathy. Just using the desktop computer, I'm amazed at how many passwords I have had to line out in my book. This week, it was my usually reliable bank. I used the same username and password for a decade. Suddenly, it wouldn't work. Getting into a bank to prove identity has become quite an experience lately.

Good morning! It's still dark outside so I don't think we got anymore snow last night, but I don't think so. It's going all the way up to 34 today so maybe there will be some melting. I hope so because there was a thick coating of ice on everything by yesterday afternoon. Fortunately our power lines are underground so we don't loose power too often.

Ugh! I feel for both of you. Passwords make me crazy! I have a list that I'm "pretty good" at keeping updated, but even so sometimes one just won't work. Wouldn't it be great to just have one that would work with everything? That's definitely not safe though so I guess we're just stuck dealing with them.
