Meet Me in St Louie Louie
I'm c/pasting this from the Back Porch! It just keeps things a bit easier for me right now.
********************************************

No time to read back and I know a few of you wanted an update on my hubby.

Tests revealed a heart ejection fraction of 15%, so we are now waiting for a LifeVest Defibrillator. Cardiologist is suspicious that it may have been caused by a virus, and if so, that virus needs to run it course, and at that time, the percentage could go up. If the ejection fraction increases to 35%, that will negate the need of a defibrillator implant.

My thoughts are very disjointed and needless to say, we are all on high alert, and it is not a nice feeling.

Please pray that my man, Peter, will be restored to a good quality of life!!!! He is my world!!

Will keep you updated as much as I can.

Dear G :: Whether or not you have the time to read this is really not important .. what is important is to remain positive and expect the best outcome .. through the Love and Caring that your wonderful Family holds for each other, I have no doubt of the best possible outcome .. I am adding my Positive Thoughts and Wishes to the Collective, which I hope in some small measure will continue to tip the scales in Peter's Favor ..

It's no wonder he is feeling puny ! Wow !
Good thing they found it so you can get taking care of him !
Yes, we finally know what course of action to take; before, it was just a guessing game.

@Flowersoul ... though no icon is fitting, I choose to send you love...

Thank you!!

I am ashamed of myself for complaining... There are so many others here with real problems... It's just hard for me to try and be a daytime person, when there's rumbling... roaring...my bed is trying to walk across the floor, and....there's not an earthquake...o_O My apologies for being tired and cranky...:(
Ya know, Sandy, we all have our individual gatsies ( I think you know what that means) and we all hurt for different reasons. It doesn't diminish our own pain for whatever is happening in our lives......NO reason to be ashamed.

It was a beautiful day for a late afternoon stroll around the yard. That and we were checking the tree tops for hawk nests. We've frequently spotted a Red Tail Hawk scoping our property for prey, even sitting on our back porch railing. While out today 2 of them were riding the wind circling over head. A couple times they folded their wings in and we thought they were going to dive and 'go for something', but nope must just be part of catching the right currents.

I planted these trees when they were only a little taller than Janet.

And all these trees too, I planted years ago. I'm proud of my small piece of this earth.

As well you should be proud .. :) .. you have truly carved out a slice of Paradise on Earth with which to call your own .. along with Janet, of course .. :)

Sometimes, when I've looked to the sky and seen a pair of Hawks lazily drifting within the air currents, I'll lay down in the chaise on the Deck and watch as long as it lasts ..

While I cannot come close to matching your Personal Park, I can say that my Burning Bush is Burning .. ;)

It is important that I read your post, because it gives me the impetus to remain in my positive frame of mind.... Knowing Peter and I have emotional support from family and friends is the best way to achieve that!

Good grief!! Are they ever going to get done tearing up the street outside my front door?!! Penn Avenue is a state highway and there is a lot of traffic, so....they work at night...:( First they spent weeks tearing up the street to install new water mains....paved it over....came back and tore up a section outside my front door....for what reason, I have no idea. Patched that up and....started all over again to install new gas lines...Okay....done now? o_ONope.... tore out my sidewalk next....only took 3 months to get that replaced. Last night they started in again....big, heavy. noisy equipment, vibrating the building....tearing up the street once more.... I'd like to think it was for a good reason, like maybe putting the power lines underground?...... All of this nonsense was supposed to be completed....a year ago...

Yesterday, for the second time within a 12 month span, my Internet Provider failed to properly mark the line where the cable is buried on the street in front of the workshop .. thusly, the Street Crew that for some reason decided to dig up the new waterline they put in last year severed the wires .. I have been informed it will likely be Monday before my Internet and Phone will be restored .. so, because I choose to not suffer thru a period of severe Internet withdrawal as I did previously, I set up a WiFi hot spot using my Phone this AM ..

Last night, as I generally do before hitting the hay, I went to the Kitchen to prep the coffee .. no water from tap .. OK, I'm sure it will be back on by morning .. this morning, no water from tap .. fortunately, being the paranoid that I am, I have a stash of several cases of bottled water .. so I still had coffee ..

I like to call these type things "First World Problems" .. as opposed to "3rd World Problems" .. as I drove to the workshop this AM, I thought to myself, "Well, Willie, at least you don't live in Puerto Rico .." ..

I would be remiss in not noting that we owe Today to the Earl of Sandwich .. since today is, after all, National Sandwich Day .. :)

Whether you take out, eat in or DIY, take a moment and have a great Sandwich .. and, a nice, hot bowl of soup is always welcome .. ;)

Me .. ?? I'll take a nice thin sliced Turkey & Bacon with sliced fresh Avocado and Mozzarella, grilled on some fresh, buttered Sourdough .. (throw a fried egg on that Bad Boy, I dare you ..) :) .. with tomato soup on the side, please .. :)

No shame required! Please don't feel bad, we'd all feel pretty frustrated with your road situation and many have had to put up with similar situations. Blowing off some steam is a good thing to do and we're certainly willing to listen. And being able to get some sleep will help too. Hope they get this round done and over with quickly.

Good morning to the young at heart:)

So nice to have power back.

YAY!! I thought of you first thing this morning and was hoping your power was back on. Woohoo!!

I remember driving home with 3 of those trees sticking out several feet behind my car and you could barely see them because they were so skinny. Now they're huge trees!! When the day comes for us to move from this house it's the outside grounds that we're really going to miss. Even the big old ugly tree! It's so lovely to watch the wildlife out there, on the ground and in the air.

You guys place is truly very nice .. and, the nicest people live there .. :) .. I noticed what looked like berms or in my neck of the woods, what we call a levee .. ?? Is that to gain some privacy, do you have a lake nearby or is it a natural formation .. ??

Over the last 10 years, I've flirted off and on with moving .. the large home I live in is way overkill, plus, I could have one heck of a Yard Sale .. ;) .. I did get fairly serious at one point and almost put some earnest money down on a Highrise Loft Condo in downtown STL .. the older I get, the tougher it is to maintain even my 3/4th acre .. I know the day will come ..

But you and Mike .. ?? Why move ever .. ?? You have each other and a great Family that can visit whenever ..

I noticed what looked like berms or in my neck of the woods, what we call a levee

'round here we call them berms and yes they are berms. Originally this property was the last parcel of the development and was bordered by 300+ acres of woods and fields. Our backyard was actually a retention basin for the development, hence the berms. There's a small creek/stream just 'over' it on one side of our property. And that creek has to be protected from run-off from the development.

The property back then was priced basically on the ground around the house and not the 'backyard'. We never could have afforded the 3 1/2 acres property in this area if the land could have been re-parceled and developed. We got a 3+ area property for basically the price of a 3/4-1 acre property. So I accepted the liability of the backyard retention basin as a trade-off to being able to afford buying it.

We've never had it fill ... maybe 2 or 3 times in all the years we've been here it flooded and got 12-18 inches of water. The kids would quickly take the pool tube toys and enjoy a small private lake. But within a couple hours, the water was all gone. I've dreamed over the years of some how turning it into my own private backyard pond and stocking it with fish. How cool to go out my back door and fish my own lake.

Sometimes a risk pays off .. :) .. being that you are a Fisherman, the allure of a Backyard Stock Pond sounds enticing .. :)

I'm still limping along with a Wi-Fi Hotspot, so, I'm limiting my on-line time as it appears my Data Minutes are taking a hit ..
