I had a good day. Condensed my aunt's tablet and got rid of all the stuff she did not use and didn't know how it got there. She has eyesight problems and she got out a magnifying glass to see something on it. I made the font bigger under her settings and oh my, you would have thought I found a cure for some rare disease. She loves her IT person. heehee

She said she never used the camera and I could remove it. I looked at the gallery and she has been taking pics and videos for a while now and did not know it. Most of them were of her looking confused at the tablet. We had a good time laughing at them.

Hope everyone had a great day too!

Good morning. Looks like we're going to get some rain today. It'll make the grass happy although if it makes it any happier we may loose some grandkids in it. Do they make machinery that'll bale grass clippings?

That's hilarious! Usually fixing something on a computer/tablet is anything but funny. You get a gold star for the day!!

How you doin' Bea .. ??
Thanks for asking. Not too bad. Mostly I can be pretty active about half a day and have to take it easy the rest of the day. If I have to walk any length such as in a store I either need my walker, or hubby's arm for support. My new normal for now because my doc says it takes a couple months to recover from the procedure because it took so long (5 hours under anesthesia). But that’s ok…beats the alternative.

FINALLY hubby got an ipad tablet and got rid of the android. A couple of years ago he thought he’d try the android. I still don’t know why because he is computer-challenged and I have to everything for him but I never took to android anything. We’ve both had iphone since they came out and I’ve used a mini ipad since the beginning. I can navigate it with my eyes closed…not so androids which I find confusing.

Morning, lizards.

No sun to bask in today, and temps are back to below normal. But at least we're still getting more snow in the hills.

While it's quite true that we become most comfortable with what we've normally used, I've always been put off the Apple's anti-competition stance. Like TI back in the dawn of home computers, pretty much if you want to expand the hardware, you MUST get it from Apple. And if you want to add something they don't make, too bad, you can't. Heck, they even sued a clone maker some years back, and put them out of business....

So, yeah, our phones are Android :)

Hola .. :)

I've always admitted to being a cheapskate when it comes to some things .. maybe 'frugal' is a better word .. I use a cheap phone, yet it works just fine for what I need it for .. sorry if this offends anyone, but Apple is a Fashion Brand .. people that don't have two nickels to rub together love to flash that Apple logo in public, because it makes them feel like they are somebody ..

I'm not directing that statement to anyone here ..

I'll spend good money on things I get real enjoyment out of and I'd drive a Maserati if I could afford it .. OK, I take that back, I could probably no longer get in or out of one without help .. o_O

Well, I am not ashamed to admit that I love my phone.

I also only know Android because I have had Samsung phones for many, many years. I have had my phone for 1 year, 8 months, and 3 days and it has brought me joy on a daily basis. I did not upgrade this year because they did not make enough improvements for me to justify the cost. Everyone knows I take "frugal" to a whole nother level but not on electronics self-gratification. Good morning. We're back to chilly, only going to 52 today and it's looking pretty darn breezy out there.

Oh my Bea, they're so beautiful. I couldn't pick a favorite. I hope you're finding some peace and restfulness in your GH. I think those blooms have healing powers.

Morning, misfits.

Clear, sunny and 75 degrees today. Somewhere, not here! More rain, temp still well below normal.

My approach has always been to not upgrade unless the current devices can no longer do what I want / need in an acceptable time. So, yeah, don't upgrade unless there's really some advantage to it other than the extra money in the makers' pockets!

I agree. I made a list (of course, I did) and compared mine to the new and improved ones. Mine came out better in a couple of categories. The camera was better but I have not had any issues with mine and I take a lot of unnecessary pictures. And who takes away an SD slot. Not that I need it but it's the principle. And they made it 1mm smaller display. GRRRR I'm a size matters kinda gal. girl_haha.gif

Now they are saying it is not a good idea to take an aspirin for heart/stroke prevention. I have taken a low dose for many years and dad's cardiologist said it was a good idea. Not sure what they will say next week.

One week you should limit your caffeine intake (coffee) and then you read you will live longer if you have 5 cups of coffee and so many ounces of dark chocolate daily. Although I did enjoy my wine phase. A certain level of consumption and health concerns are no longer an issue. girl_dance.gif

If I'm reading that "news" right,
The suggestion came from USPSTF (US Preventive Service Task Force, which I've never heard of) but I understood the article to say that daily aspirin is not recommended after the age of 60 because of the increased risk of gastrointestinal bleeding, intracranial bleeding, and hemorrhagic stroke.

I find all those studies confusing. I have never had any heart issues but my mother had Angina and my father has had 5 balloons, a bypass, and a stroke. With his blocked arteries, it made sense to me that an aspirin which is a blood thinner would prevent buildup. I will more than likely continue and ask the cardiologist again at dad's next appointment. I maybe should revisit my wine therapy.

Yep, wine therapy is good :)

And, as you've already said, confusing. Seems to be that if you don't like what they're currently saying, just wait a week for it to be contradicted. Or even if you do like what they're saying... me, I'm sticking with coffee and chocolate being good for you, along with the wine :)

I had my coffee today. There are two bottles of wine in the fridge and I keep a bag of chocolate on my bedtable. Dark, of course, I'm into healthy lifestyles.

Now explain to me why I walked all winter in shorts and did not get cold but it is 70 today and I had to come in and get a jacket because I was chilly. My thermostat is definitely malfunctioning. But it is a beautiful day and I had a lovely walk.

Hope everyone is having a great day.
