I like the new lamp, I'm not sure I would use another but I'll just think about it and see how it goes.

My 2nd lamp showed up yesterday. But it was missing the USB cord, dang! I tried going to Amazon to return/exchange it. But when I'd select "missing/broken parts" as the reason I'd only get two option; 1) start chat and 2.) have Amazon call me. Never ran into those options before when doing an Amazon return. Maybe because of the 'reason' I selected it took me there.

Anyway I selected 'call me' and almost instantly my phone was ringing. The support person looked into send me another, but the item is no longer available. Then she walked me through the on-line process of contacting and leaving a message with he vendor to get a replacement cord. She also said, she'd call me Thursday to make sure the vendor contacted me and I'm satisfied with the response.

I've got a bijillion 3 ft and shorter cords but no 5-6ft cords. An Amazon Basics 6ft cord costs $7.50. I don't want buy one and add that to the cost of the light. The whole idea was getting the lamp for under $10.

In my message to the vendor I'll need to get the cord before July 14, my last day to return the lamp, and if I don't I will return the lamp.

We'll see how this plays out.

I'm glad we're not have the heat some of you are having! We're having a rainy day here and 82 degrees. Gotta pick up the boys from daycare and camp at 3:30 and take them home for their dinner. At least they're ready to feed. Very picky eaters. Slap 2 pieces of velveeta cheese on a burger bun for one and 2 boiled hotdogs in buns for the other. We ordered a pizza for us.

When I ran to the store yesterday I picked up a lovely little potted sunflower plant. It looks so pretty on the deck. I just sat here and watched a dam_ed squirrel jump on the plant and he nipped off the tallest flower! Didn't even leave a stem to put it in water. Arrrrrgh!

@LovesButtercups Hope the surgery goes well for your hubby today.

Morning, loungers.

No problems with excessive heat here, we're running about 10 below average. Been dry the last few days, but little sun...

What a little pest. They are really getting on my reserve nerve this year. They started chewing the aluminum ties on our chain link fence. Go figure.

But they are cute little things. (not when you see them dining on out stuff)

They better be careful. Dad has threatened to get out the guns. heehee

I have never seen that movie. Is it the 67' movie with Paul Newman? If it is, it got 8.1 on IMDb. View attachment 976283 Maybe I will watch it Saturday when I am wrapping my weedeater line.
That's the one. I would say it's definitely worth your time, and not just for that one scene. One quote is still heard today. "What we have here is a failure to communicate".

'Cool Hand Luke' remains one of my top 5 favorite films .. I've watched it so many times over the years, and saw it in the theater when it came out, that I can practically recite the dialog along with each scene ..

It is a story of rebellion, persistence, friendship, family, sadness, cruelty and evil .. and more ..

They don't make them like that anymore and likely never will ..

Squirrels are tiny but they are BEASTS. Hubs had a old beater of a car that sat parked for a few months and squirrels ate the spark plug wires! He was livid. I thought for sure we’d be having squirrel for supper…he was too lazy to clean them so he let them be. LOL

Thanks for thinking of us! He isn’t feeling much of anything right now…they did a nerve block before surgery so he’s still numb. That won’t last for much longer, so he is supposed to take some pain meds before he goes to bed. The surgery center called and asked if we could arrive earlier than scheduled, and we got there almost an hour before his appointment time. Not sure why though…we were there ALL DAY. Got there about 10:30 this morning and didn’t leave until almost 5! Geez. But, at least it’s done. I’m working from home tomorrow so I can keep an eye on him. He’s gonna feel rough, I’m sure.

My Grandma used to fry 'em up after Grampa and me would bag a couple three .. tastes like chicken ..
My grandfather used to make the best Brunswick Stew I have ever tasted. I did not know at the time that it had squirrel and rabbit in it.

The pot he cooked it in outside over a fire is now sitting on our back porch. Years ago, I had a piece of glass cut for the top of it to make a side table. Sort of big but I like things that are different.

So glad that it is over with and that you will be with him tomorrow, just in case. I am hoping it will not be bad at all. Sending good thoughts.

I agree that the squirrels are cute, but man, what pests! Mike was joking about getting out the pellet gun, but I couldn't bring myself to shoot them. I figure they're making me exercise by jumping off the couch and running to the door to chase them away. They'll jump right off the deck or the hanging birdseed feeder, fall all the way down to the grass or concrete and just run off like the fall was nothing. You'd think they'd get hurt.

So, I got home at 9:00 tonight after picking up the boys. After running around all day they're content to hang out and play games or watch tv. Miles had some funny cat and dog clips on some tv show that was pretty funny. We had a good time watching them. Boy, it's so much easier watching the boys when they're no longer babies. These old bones can't handle all the work it takes when they're younger.

I thought about you and your Sunflower today when I was walking. Not sure what the squirrel did but there was an angry brown and white bird chasing him all the way across the street. The little squirrel ran into the bushes and that bird just kept raising you know what. I sort of felt sorry for the squirrel but still chuckled.

Don't they make a power that is supposed to keep critters away or stop them from eating plants? I think it is made from blood or something blood-like. Seems like my grandfather put it in his garden.

I just google and it was Blood Meal that he used. If it works in a garden, I don't see why it would not work in a pot.

It's a classic, with some good quotable lines:

We'll see how this plays out.

So yesterday I get an Amazon message from the lamp vendor offering me a $1 rebate for the missing cord. I replied "...there is no where one can buy a 5ft usb cord for $1 including shipping and handling. An Amazon Basic's cord cost $7.49. I expected a reasonable offer from you..."

I haven't heard back from the vendor. The saga continues.

I have not seen it. If I have seen it, I don't remember it.

What  ... how can that be?

Just start a return on Amazon. They will most likely give you a credit and let you keep the lamp. Use the money to buy a cord.
