The support agent said, well that does sound totally unacceptable.
I figured Amazon would make it right.ta da ... I was driving home from a meeting tonight and got the call back from Amazon support. I pulled into a parking lot so I could have a conversation with her safely.
She asked how I made out. I explained the the whole deal with them just offering $1 refund because they sold out their inventory on sale and lost money. I then said I replied I can't buy a cable for $1 even an Amazon Basic cable costs $7.43 and they came back with sorry I hope you understand our position but we can only offer your $1.
The support agent said, well that does sound totally unacceptable. I will be reporting them to Amazon and if you 'hold' I'll see what I can do for you.
She came back on the line and said she issued me an $8 promo credit good for a purchase of an Amazon product shipped by Amazon. I said no problem I'll be buying an Amazon cable.
When I got home, I put the cable in my cart and went to check out and $7.43 was deducted from my order. My total for the cable came to $0.00
Sorry UW but the vendor ...... me off and I had to follow it to conclusion. I'll still be leaving bad ratings on the product page and the vendor's store page.
Kudo's to Amazon, I really didn't think I'd get the call back yet alone the credit to purchase a replacement cable.
Right here.Where is everybody???? View attachment 976409

Nice to read a post with all that good news.My A/C is back in working order. I just finished closing all of the windows and backdoor. The attic fan performed wonderfully, especially after the sun went down. The inside temp is 89° so no idea how long it will take to cool it down. The repairman saved a bit on the motor, so it was only $758.15 for the repair. Every penny saved is helpful.
I was out doing some shopping the other day and wound up at a military surplus store. They had a clearance on USMC tan leather boots in my size, 11.5 Wide. It is so nice having a boot that fits properly. I have been wearing them the last couple of days. These will be great out on the farm. Amazon just delivered my new Merino Wool socks. Wow, these are a lot softer than I expected. I'm used to military wool socks. These are going to be so comfy.
It is time for me to get some other things done. I hope everyone has a good weekend.
