I did watch Cool Hand Luke Saturday night. (the weedeater rolling will have to wait). It was a very good movie. I would have hated to have been in one of those ditches working in that hot sun with Luke the day after he ate those 50 boiled eggs.
He got 2 years for getting drunk and cutting those parking meters off. Gosh today, you can burn a federal building while you are "peacefully" demonstrating and your bail is free, your out in no time and your case is dismissed. And you can trespass and get harsh treatment for over a year waiting for your day in court, all at the expense of the taxpayer. Where would I be if I videoed myself using crack or lying on a federal firearm form? There is something seriously wrong with our judicial system. Sheesh!
And I was so calm after walking an hour this morning. 75 degrees and just beautiful. The new inexpensive earbuds are awesome. Used them walking. They did wonderful in the shower last night too. I washed my hair and everything and they stayed in and sounded great. I wonder what it would sound like if I answered the phone there. heehee I doubt I would do that because it would interrupt my singing.

Not much to report .. last couple days have been fairly mild with low humidity, so I've been trying to catch up on outdoor work .. soon, it will be back to the next heatwave ..
I do actually have a couple tomato's getting to be a pretty good size on the two plants I put out on a sunny area of the deck a while back .. so there is that ..
Oh, and my dog loves me ..

People get into a frenzy with POTUS and gas prices around here .. you can be standing in line to pay for a 12 pack and, invariably, some clown will say something like .. 'That durn Biden needs to be impeached ..'
My standard reply anymore is :: 'If POTUS could wave a magic wand and gas prices would drop to $1.50, he would .. any of them would .. why wouldn't they .. ??' .. I don't care who's living in the White House ..
in July 2008 the price of gas hit $4.14 per gallon, which when adjusted for inflation would be around $5.37 in today's dollars .. thanks Uncle Bush ..

Good evening, all. I made up for the loss of sleep the last couple of days. I went to bed around 7 am and didn't get out of bed until just after 6 pm.
Thank you. I have never put much stock in what the talking heads recommend.
No comment, it would just get my blood pressure up.
I have a set of earbuds but never liked them. My hearing loss is such that the earbuds don't help. I have a bone conduction headset that really helps and lets me hear more than even headphones.
Those are pretty cool. My cousin bought a pair and asked me to use them so I could teach her how. They were very impressive. It was nice hearing the stuff around me as well as what I was listening to. Especially when I was walking. Much safer IMO.
But I will have to admit blocking out everybody and everything has its advantages also.
Sounds so good I looked them up. They are sort of conspicuous looking. Where do you wear them, and what kind of reaction do you get from strangers. I ask because my hearing is pretty bad, and getting worse.
Here are the ones that I used for a while. There are also some very good YouTube videos that I watch trying to learn about this brand and bone conduction in general. I was very skeptical (that's normal for me) but after using them I thought seriously about getting a pair. This was a very highly rated brand but there are others on Amazon that are more cost-effective that had good reviews also.

I like them driving so I can still hear traffic.
I wear them over my ear and behind my head. Just like the picture of the girl in the amazon link. I've never had anyone say anything except asking me about how I like them.
These are the same ones I have and I really enjoy them.

Many, many years on the road in loud music venues, well before hearing protection became a thing, combined with my time in the Army and, er, some generally loud noise then, ended up eventually giving me a fairly acute case of tinnitus .. IOW, at all times, other than sleeping, I hear a high frequency noise in my ears .. not much of anything can be done about it, so you just learn to live with it ..
It's around that 14kHz mark, so when I would engineer, I always had to compensate .. oddly, using headphones at a good volume, listening to music at loud volume, etc, makes it temporarily go away ..
Along with hearing loss, this affliction is fairly common within groups of the populace with a similar background ..

Starting to get hot again here. Took a nice walk but I am going to have to tell you those new earbuds are not good when you are eating shredded wheat. My gosh, I could not believe how noisy I was. I got on my own reserve nerve.
